Epithet: This isn't exactly any concern of mine. But, I go through a lot of Education threads, this being one of the best, and I see this repeatedly and just can't help but call it out. DO YOUR RESEARCH. If you plan to apply for a doctorate program, looking for a suitable institution is the easiest endeavor you would embark on. From then on, the slope gets steeper, assuming you get admitted into the program. Just to give you an example. I was the first African in my graduate program for God knows how long. Don't take this any way, just take responsibility for yourself. If I had your documents, I'm not bragging, In a week I would provide at least 3 fully funded programs you can apply to.
Start with the simple Google search. Streamline according to research, funding opportunities, send mails to graduate coordinators, they probably know better than anyone about specific program requirements, meet those requirements (GRE/GMAT and/or TOEFL), then apply.
Please and please and please again, prospective students, put due diligence to researching options they are a deluge of them. Gracias Please, did you get my PM? |

wip7: Each country/university has its admission criteria and scholarship criteria for PhD. Someone may be admittable but such person may not meet the requirement to be awarded a full or partial scholarship or vice versa.
So I believe you have a good chance, so give it a try. Don't let anything serves as blocking rock to achieving your vision.
Since you have a bachelor degree and MBA, you can apply directly for a PhD...I don't see any reasons why you should do another MSc before going for a PhD unless you choose to.
Here is a common Admission Requirement for PhD in a Business related program abroad (extracted from a Canadian University webpage):
Education
In most circumstances, a master’s degree from a university of recognized standing in an appropriate area of study is required. Applicants without a business background will be considered but may require additional courses in the functional areas of business.
Research interest
A clear and strong statement of your research interest focusing on what you want to study, and identifying at least one of our faculty members who focus on this area of expertise, will benefit your application. You are strongly encouraged to read our faculty profiles to identify whether your research interests align with our faculty members. Highlight this alignment in your application.
GMAT or GRE (some university don't ask but can strengthen student application)
A GMAT score of at least 600 or GRE with a balanced score of 302 is required.
Typical PhD Scholarship Requirements (PhD is for Research):
PhD scholarship is often competitive. Scholarships are awarded based on an applicant’s academic record, research output and prior research experience. So, candidate’s past records of education (CGPA), documents submitted during the application, research experience and skills, research interest and Quality of Research proposal, how relevant the person research aligned to the faculty or specific supervisor as well as the clarity of objectives are taken into consideration by committee members during evaluation.
I don't see why you should do that, you already have MBA.....that's master in Business Administration or was it honorary? So why would you need to go get MSC again?
There is large number of students that got admitted from Bachelor directly into PhD abroad. I have 4 of my ex-undergraduate students who got admitted directly from Bachelor to PhD without having a master degree. These undergraduate students were in my lab and each had 4 reputable research papers which happened to be related to their chosen PhD, the university found them well-equipped with a competitive academic record, reasonable research output and sound prior research experience.
Even, I had my ex-undergraduate student with her low CGPA she had two research papers and was finally admitted directly to PhD in the USA (Bachelor to PhD) just this last Feb and she resumed already. She contacted me for a Ref and I have screenshot her letter here.
In summary, visit websites of each university you wish to study, check their requirements and see if you meet up, apply and wait. The procedure and steps are generally stated on the universities websites. Best wishes Prof please, to what university was she admitted?. I would love to explore it too.. Thank you |

Mourinho's inter team of 2010 won the best team of the century (Barcelona of 2010) in the champions league semi final. Note that the barca team was not having a bad day. The played unbelievable football but the inter team were super humans. Inter won the on aggregate 3-2.
That team is the most rugged team in modern history. |

MCastle: 40 million Nigerians have BVN verified bank accounts. It will cost the FG only ₦100 billion to pay ₦250k into each account so Nigerians can buy food for themselves and their families during the #CoronaVirus lockdown. If Nigeria can budget ₦150 billion for a National Assembly of less than 500 legislators, then why can’t we spend ₦100 billion paying each of the 40 million Nigerian BVN linked account ₦250k to cushion the effects of #COVID19? ERockson: I have no doubt that this popular coronavirus is more or less the Malaria that is very popular in Africa.
Unlike Malaria, The major difference and the most dangerous aspect of coronavirus is the way it's been spread and contract. Before the discovery of antimalaria drug lots of Africans died, From our experience with Malaria I don't believe Coronavirus can kill us in Africa but unnecessary pressure from quarantine, negligence and stigmatization will kill more the disease itself. I think...bla bla bla.. Oga, this is not bet 9ja.. |

Tarokboy: Great performance by the boys.
Uwaziem Uwaziem has reiterate my believe in him for a first team shirt after a splendid Nations cup performance where he was only dribbled pass just once. As for me,he is currently our best defender, confident and intelligent. He got good cover from Chukwueze who came back to assist. Only minus with him is that he does not over lap to support attack but again who needed an overlap with the caliber of Brazilian attackers. How I wish he can be tried in the Central defensive role. 8/10
AJAYI. Nigeria has discovered another solid defender who despite his height is nimble footed, intelligent and sharp. His arial prowess is superb.A good attribute about him is that he is not a "defend and kick" defender like ekong and Omeruo. He can ball.Hardly do you see him make those silly defensive miss of the ball Ekong and Omeruo are now synonymous with occasionally. He needs more playtime with the Eagles though. My dream 5 and 6 should be Uwaziem/Ajayi 7.5/10 for AJAYI
Chukwueze The kid sensation. No doubt presently our best attacking player.Intelligent, fast, great stamina and control.Only minus is his finishing which needs fine tunning. You could hear the gasp of anticipation from the spectators whenever the ball gets to him.He was never afraid to "forge"ahead whenever he gets hold of the ball just like he plays for Villarreal. He made the Brazilian left wing back who was equally good look ordinary. He was also coming back to support defence. No doubt he covered the grounds most for Nigeria in the match. Alas,we are going to get a first World class player in this boy(bookmark this)8.5/10
ARIBOR. 2 goals in 2 matches for this exciting left footed player for Nigeria.Did you guys see the leg work that heralded his goal?He is not afraid to put forth his leg to get the goals(same in Ukraine's match)He can score, one attribute we are missing in our midfielders lately. His performance was good in the first half and final 3rd.He deserves a starting position in the Eagles. 7.5/10
UZOHO.
Many atimes,I seat back and wonder why he was not our first choice in Nations cup. Confident, great height, hardly beaten on arial goal bound targets.Has improved on saving low bound targets.only flaws are dead balls(corner kicks, penalties and free kick) positioning and timing.which unfortunately resulted to his injury today. Wishing him quick recovery. 7/10
OSIMEMHIN The next best thing after slice bread. He has been prolific upfront for club this season.strong, fast and passionate.Coincidentally, his form and limelight picked up with the exit of Odion Ighallo. In the 6 goals attempt on goals against Brazil today he had 3 and also contributed in our goal build up.As long as he remains passionate and hardworking, since the talent is there,he will definitely go places.8/10
Collins : 6/10 Ekong: 6.5/10 Ndidi: 6.5/10 Iwobi: 5. 5/10 (disappointing) Simon Moses: 6/10 Azeez (no much playtime):5/10 Bonaventure(no much playtime):5/10 Onuchu NMPT)4/10 Reserve gollie(NMPT):5/10 Coach:7/10 I so love the way Chukwueze is developing at Villarreal. I like the fact that they are helping him to work on the defensive aspect of his game and being more of a team player and playmaker. He is heading in the right direction. He just needs to keep working hard and try to always get better. The day will come when he will EXPLODE. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by linked: 3:35pm On Oct 15, 2019 |
BascoVanVeli: Someone should remind Iwobi that we don't complain about his goals in Nigeria. He was clearly trying too hard and it affected the team. His first job is getting the ball to our danger men.
That said Aribo should run more with the ball. This is when he is most dangerous. I think he can do much more than he has done so far. The boy is a big talent and I love how Rohr has treated him. Handing him the number 10 shirt and making him feel important.
Ndidi must have read my comment about his performances for the super eagles because the boy was possessed. I think our midfield can be one of the best in the world one day if we keep up this trajectory. Indeed! Ndidi is possessed. His work rate is inimitable. To succeed in modern football you need more than talent and skill. Those two are useless without putting the shift. You need energy, speed and endurance. Ndidi has these in his arsenal. For me he is the one player in the super eagles at the moment that can make the first eleven of any club in the world. Again not because he is most talented but for his impeccable work ethics |
