And if the next coach sells the game, what happens. We have seen this over the years.

I hope Man City sets up an academy in Nigeria and rescue our young talents from corrupt officials.

Imagine one change in the whole match we were dominated. Coming from a coach we know is a tactical genius
.
Manu strives on the ingenuity of his players not necessarily his tactical nous. He usually set up his team in a style that suite team cohesion .... But sadly he was just trying to be tactical in this game by adopting an approach that doesn't work.... He shot himself on the foot... I warned him

Manu got it wrong! Bulbwa and Godwin are zero! Sokari can't even hold the ball for second, talk less of making decisive passes!
Sad watching the Lads flopping!!!
I gave Manu a candid suggestion... He no hear.... He said he is '' exploring other options''.. Hmm... Ok oo

Nigeria has to score first, nothing as bad as chasing a game. The line up is built for defensive strength.
Hope manu will not revert to his long ball tactics... I have told Manu that retaining possession by tiki taka is what fit these boys most-to this he concurred but he was still exploring the option of long balls.. Hmm..

Make I still believe #manuknowsbest

Firstly it was UAE 2013 & not Dubai 2013.

All those attributes of Iheanacho that u listed were during the last U17 WC.This isd U20s and it is like 2steps above d U17 Do u know whether Bulbwa would have done better if he didnt fail d MRI test?

Garba Manu knows thé individual players abilities more than you and I.
Trust Manu's judgement on this one. Bulbwa brings more to d table than Iheanacho.

And comparing Mikel with Bulbwa, Mikel was much better than all d Midfielders in this team when he was U20.
Yea... So true... In 2005 when Mikel was at the peak of his career at just age 25... Of course these kids wouldn't come close.. grin grin grin

After watching the highlights of the German European triumph on YouTube, one thing actualized into a certainty for me, tomorrow's match is going to be a very difficult one for Nigeria. This German side is a well oiled machine, they play with one mind, and most importantly, they're ruthless. They are very big on wing play, so our our full backs have their respectively jobs cut out for them.

I'm by no means fazed by Germany, and I believe that our boys can beat them convincingly if they take their game to the next level, but they should by on no account allow this Germans to counter attack them at any point in time, cuz, they are very deadly at it.
You indeed know what a typical german team is. This very german team got the tactical nous to overcome any unwary team. This game isn't ganna be a roller-coaster for the eagles... EXCEPT of course the germans capitulate which seldom happen. I bank on the eagles to win not because beating the germans is such a cinch or because the eagles' performance thus far has been out of this world but because I expect the eagles to 'peak' in this game after three matches. Verily they've been under-performing in comparison with their true potentials.

Thus, with complacency removed after the humbling defeat to Brazil, I expect the eagles to bring on their A game.
Let relax as events unfold cool

Ifeanyi, Yahaya, Nacho... all on the bench... ... I feel like crying cry
Since yahaya's rabona skill.. . The eagles have been dry entertainment wise.... Now I really miss Ifeanyi Mathew, He is way more talented than Sokari- at last I have seen Sokari play. Sokari is a good player and strive on short passes- But ifeanyi is just a joy to watch on football.. . His ball juggling, outrageous dummies, slide rule passing, Marseille roulette and step overs. .. It was unfortunate he went cold in the game against brazil.... But I just wanna revel in his tricks..

Nacho got some touch too and of course yahaya gave that beautiful rabona skill

I wanna see some little showboating in the game against Germany especially if the eagles are two or more goals up
I need entertainment grin grin

But #manuknowsbest

Manu goes for a hardworking lineup again. I think an iheanacho would have given more bite to a less than inspiring forward line.

I am missing Ifeanyi's trickery... sad

ENAHOLO SETS NEW RECORD FOR NIGERIA GOALKEPPERS

Nigeria goalkepper Joshua Enaholo has found his way into the assist chart at the ongoing FIFA under-20 World cup after FIFA confirmed on their site that his long throw that lead to Taiwo Awoniyi second goal counts as an assist.

The Nigeria first choice goal tender officially becomes the first Nigeria goalkepper to pick an assist in FIFA organised tournament when his trademark long throw out from the Nigeria eighteen came off the head of an Hungarian defender trying to clear his lines but the ball dropped kindly for Awoniyi who pounced to score Nigeria's second and his of the game.

FIFA confirmed his record with a statement on their which reads "Although goalkeepers are normally deployed to prevent goals from being scored, Nigerian custodian Joshua Enaholo proved to be an equally effective provider in his side’s match against Hungary.

"Hurling a throw-out well over the halfway line, he caught Hungary’s high defensive line off-guard. His throw landed in the path of Taiwo Awoniyi, who skipped past the sole remaining opponent and slotted the ball home to give Nigeria an unassailable 2-0 lead. Enaholo, having claimed an assist, celebrated exuberantly with his team-mates in true African style.

Just to douse some tension maybe ironically... grin

This German team is very good... One of the best in the competition so far. The got a frightening efficiency of which the eagles are found wanting.

Their pass completion rate so far is impeccable (My assumption on their games so far NOT opta stats)

An impressive defense line

But something HUGE is missing in the German team.... .

Talk about it after Hungary is in the bag
Anything short of a win against Germany? I would be disappointed because man for man the eagles have better quality.
German youth teams usually struggle playing african teams... The reason is simple... RUGGEDNESS...
With shear physical football this German team will be overwhelmed... They cant stand it...

Thus the eagles should give the Germans no breathing space... Play them like real Africans while maintaining the total football philosophy... This simple technique will result in a sure win...
Anyway.... #manuknowbest

Italy, Spain and Germany.

I hope to quote this comment when the time is right... Take note cool
ITALY 2006 world cup... Italy had a slow start in the 2006 world cup... They won ghana 2 goals to nil... But those who watch that match would agree that ghana made some serious mistakes and that was their own undoing.... Underwise ghana was the better team that day.. infact, a fair result would have been a draw.

In their second game they played a 1-1 draw with USA the same USA ghana won.... Italy eventually won Czech Republic in their last game and topped the group with 7points.. . Ghana had 6 points..

SPAIN.. 2010 world cup.... Spain lost their first game to Switzerland by a single goal... infact it could have been worse had the swiss team capitalise on spain's blunder.... Silver, villa, Iniesta et al were caught a forlorn picture... Spain bounced backed though and still qualified from their group..

GERMANY...2014 world cup.. Germany started on a convincing fashion with a 4-0 win over Portugal... They played a 2-2 draw with ghana... Infact... Ghana deserved to win this match but they didn't because of profligacy in front of goal... They were the better team... Germany eventually won the USA with a single muller strike... Again here it was a balanced game that could have gone either way...

All the above three teams have something in common.... They won the world cup those years... They weren't perfect teams.
Non could muster 9 points from their group.. BUT they won the world cup...

9points count for nothing in the knockout stages... infact it can create some complacency in players...
....... .. *To be continued *
