Why?
Maybe the President could not help but hear the wailing by loud mouthed Nigerians griping over Lagos Calabar Costal highway investment and so heeded their crys, showing, by suspending any further new investment on roads, that he has.

Despite all the noise Nigerians make in relation to juju, Nigerians can't transmogrify into "Africans" when caught and charged with wrong doing, but Ghanaians can.

There are no Ghanaian crooks, only African ones.

Hmmm ... the prosecution witness is the officer in charge of the case? ...was he there? ... was he involved in the crime? ... did he know something about the crime? ... then how is he a witness? They found a mask at the scene ... and so? ...did they link it to any of the accused? The accused pleaded not guilty ... maybe they are ... because what the prosecution presented can be used against anyone ... there was no connection to the accused. K don't believe those commiting this kind of crime need to be executed... but we have to be mindful of these weak cases or a lot of innocent people would receive the death sentence. I would have no doubt in this case if one of the kidnappers took the witness stand
The reporting could be the problem. For instance, at one point, I wondered how the dead man could be the witness.

Nigerians are too interested in other countries more than they are in Nigeria. Were I a billionaire, I wouldn't invest a penny in any other African Nation. Nigeria is vast, needy and rich with all the potential a man can handle in one life time. Bleep pragmatism, I'll not invest shit any of these African nations that have the temerity to maltreat Nigerians even to the extent of imposing visa restrictions on Nigeria billionaires and millionaires that invest in thire crappy nations.

If, as often directly or indirectly represented by the media, female suicide bombers up north are able to successfully evade detection due the flowing islamic cloths they wear, including hijab, then it would make practical sense if the Imams, in cooperation with the authorities, mandate their suspension for the time being. Actually, why can't Nigeria Muslims design thire own wears for females ?

Let's also not forget that authorities have in the past apprehended several males disguised as females due to the convenience that these female islamic apparels afforded them.

Ban hijab for two years.

Also, when there's a gathering or event; guests, guards, police or select individuals may need to start searching young female attendees unless someone takes responsibility for them as safe and hiding nothing.

It's no secret that some regional politicians in nigeria like tinibu and buhari can't never win any presidential election in nigeria without relying heavily on tribal and religious sentiments every sane watcher of nigerian politics knows this quite very well It's not even debatable.
Outside of communists states, who wins any election without relying heavily on tribal sentiments ?
CelebritiesRe: Tax Protests: Kenyans Berate Destiny Etiko For ‘Insensitivity by Litmus: 3:47pm On Jun 30, 2024
Mrexcell:
Nigerians are not actually a fearful people but they are not yet matured and civilised to leave behind their tribal and religious differences to unite and fight for the things that will benefit them all corrupt evil nigerian politicians clearly see this weakness and take advantage of it to capture power for themselves, their families and their cronies.
Niraland has a huge audience. Why don't you explain to the youths, whom you wish would rise up and overthrow the system in Nigeria, how to go about doing so.

You hint, when you state, quote:

" Nigerians are not yet matured and civilised to leave behind their tribal and religious differences to unite and fight for the things that will benefit them all corrupt evil nigerian politicians"

that Nigeria politicians, presumably, the president of Nigeria, does not have cross tribal support. If so you're operating under a number of basic misconceptions and assumptions. For instance, the president of Nigeria does have cross tribal support. He has huge supporters all over Nigeria and the party to which he belongs was voted into office by millions of Nigerians. For every individual who claims that the leaders of Nigeria attained power by illegal means there is another who believes he attained power through acceptable democratic process.

Also dismissing the Nigeria political landscape as one constricted by tribalism is simplistic. Nigeria has a multiplicity of ethnic nationalities for want of a better term, but also religious dimensions, philosophical outlooks, gender rights issues, raging capitalists, effectively independent military, nationalists and so on. One man's cry of tribal persecution is another man's cry of tribal manipulation. There are separatists also which complicates any justifiably coherent narrative on Tribalism (ironically) since any narrative is, if we can be objective, undermined by partiality. Another factor to consider in your simple assessment of Nigerians, is Nigeria's state system. The majority of Nigeria's ethnic groups are arguably represented by a state.

However you may wish it , Nigeria is not an immature polity.

You stated
unite and fight for the things that will benefit them all
Explain and outline what form this would take, how it will lead to the desired outcome that satisfy the greatest number of Nigerians, leaving the nation in a better place than before?

Foreign AffairsRe: Countries Urge Their Citizens To Leave Lebanon Amid Fears Of War by Litmus:
Federal Government needs to create a Hereicome-ee Jappanese Export Department. The department recruits folks that would like to Jappa Nigeria at all cost, including to war zones, for a chance at getting citizenship in return for participating in the relevant nation's war.

The department should bolster Nigeria's foreign earnings. This is since as well as income Nigeria will earn from the foreign nation applying for Jappanese people of Nigeria, the department will also charge those Jappanese Nigerians that wish to join the program a small fee, some of which will go towards financing the bureaucratic process aimed at ensuring applicants are no longer legally entitled Nigeria citizenship.

The Nigeria Hereicome-ee Jappanese Program will avoid potential Modern day Slavery criticism due to the fact that all participants are willing.
TravelRe: Nigerians Allegedly Face Xenophobia In Benin Republic by Litmus: 12:42pm On Jun 29, 2024
If omnipotent forces exist, they seem to love Nigeria. I've always felt that one of the significant hindrances to Nigeria fulfilling her obvious destiny to be the greatest black Nation to ever exist, is the lack of nationalism in Nigerians. Nigerians need Nigeria as their central focus for emotional and practical investment and if Xenophobia helps facilitate this - by isolating Nigerians and forcing them to be thire Nigerian brothers keepers - then so be it.

For some bizarre reason, significant Nigerians are external or world focused rather than Nigeria focused. It was alarming, witnessing Northern Nigerians virtually threatening Nigeria on behalf of cousins in Niger Republic when Tinubu rightly or wrongly threatened Niger Republic with military intervention in line with the relevant ECOWAS rules. Strangely the people of Niger Republic never seem to consider these supposed Nigerian cousins that care so much for them. Same sort of unequal love seems to mark the relationship between Western Nigeria and their supposed cousins in Benin Republic and Togo. When on Social Media, Nigerians only seem to receive hostility from those Nations. They are only enthusiastic when some foolish Nigerians from the West tout Lagos as a possible regional Capital and when these same Nigerians talk of Nigeria investing in roads linking Nigeria to Lome, Porto- Novo, Accra and Yamoussoukro.

Then there are Nigerian musicians organising all sorts of promotions in Ghana that promoted Ghana at Nigeria's expense. Simone Ekpa is in Finland threatening Nigeria. Kanu was in London threatening Nigeria. Nigerians go to Canada and rubbish Nigeria. Nigerians do the same from America; from South Africa; from every Shithole including Rwanda, Ghana, Pakistan and Afghanistan!

After rubbishing thire great nation Nigeria to the nationals of all these nations, Nigerians are surprised when the citizens of these places become funky and want to look down on them. And since civilian Nigerians have a habit of not accepting responsibility for thire actions, they then claim it's Nigeria leaders fault for the rubbish they receive.

Why is it that a significant number of Niralanders seem to only feel worthy if they are able to validate a Nigeria occurrence because it happened in the West or Abroad ?

To this types of people, anything that happens in Nigeria, which they believe does not happen abroad , is automatically barbaric or wrong.

This attitude forces individuals like me to reluctantly reference the West, in order to justify things that happen in Nigeria, as though the West is the paragon of all things correct, best and good. For me, this is painful because I am a sort of Futurists and subsequently don't view the West as exemplary but the source of most things wrong with the world.

I never want Nigeria to be like, London, Dubai or Tokyo I want Nigeria to be better than these places. I'm the type that don't just want to copy a Roundabout, I wonder what's wrong with a squareabout, triangularabout....

So, unfortunately I am forced now to point out that lecturers and students do fight abroad not only in Nigeria angry

Foreign AffairsRe: Nigerian Student Who Joined Russian Army In Ukraine Pleads For Citizenship by Litmus:
Were I president of Nigeria, and if constitutionally possible, perhaps allowable under some subsection titled Extra Special Presidential Decree, I would arrange for Nigerians to go join Russia or and Ukrainia forces. If possible, I would arrange with both Nations for these Nigerians to switch citizenship.

Once the protocol is established, the Nigeria system responsible for registering Nigerians ready to go fight on the side of those nations for a chance at switching citizenship, will be tasked with the extra duty of also kidnapping many Nigerians: the ugly ones, criminals, transformers thieves, complainy- complaining types, and registering them to go become Russian and Ukrainian citizens. I would send by hook or by crook hundreds of thousands of Nigerians. Nigeria needs airing, too many unproductive types that can make themselves useful in Russia and Ukraine. They can all go there and talk about food and enjoy electricity.

Russia and Ukrain would be keen for such a deal since they know that , actually, by the end of the war, thire Nations would not really be saddled with too many black citizens. Generals on both sides will ensure it.

Foreign AffairsRe: Kenya's President Withdraws Tax Plan After Deadly Protest by Litmus: 1:50pm On Jun 27, 2024
The so-called youth wailing on Niraland over what they view as Nigerians not rising up and burning down Nigeria the way they believe Kenyans are burning down Kenya is to me somewhat embarrassing. One would have hoped that at this stage, given access to the contemporary history of Africa, the conflicts, causes of relative poverty etc Africa Youths would by now (21st, Century) figured out the true causes of these realities.

Another group, and potentially worst , are those that behind the scenes brainwash them. I state "Worst" because in whichever way you cut it , they are diabolical. For example, weather thire motivations are driven by genuine believe that African nations struggle with uplifting the masses out of relative poverty due to the usual stereotypes associated with Africans in leadership roles or thire motivations are driven by ethnic agenda, they are diabolical. There's no excuse for rank stupidity of the type outlined above.

For you so called Youths, let me advice you by resorting to Star Wars. Your battle should not be with the Republic (Nigeria (I cannot speak for Kenya)) your battle should be with the World Empire (the global finical and trade system). Your Republic is restrained and limited by the impositions of the Global Empire.

If wheat grew in Ife yeas ago why can't we grow it now?
Nigeria once did, in huge commercial quantities, apparently. I think it may have been in the 80's or early 90's. I read it as a youngster and believe this is true. Nigeria also was harvesting huge quantities of prawns. Nigeria exported all these to America. Eventually US began to put pressure on Nigeria to cut down on wheat production due to balance of trade issues. And due to the threat Nigeria's prawn export was thought to be causing US producers, Nigeria's prawn export was slapped with being contaminated and stoped.

Ironically the US now import prawns from India that are reportedly contaminated without sanctioning them.

CrimeRe: Alleged Rape: Pastor Benjamin Egbaji Arrested In Benin Republic, Chained To Bed by Litmus: 5:46pm On Jun 26, 2024
In May 18, 1938, the son of one of America's wealthiest families traveled to the Asmat region of Southwest New Guinea. The region was home to primitive natives. He traveled there ignoring warnings. Shortly after Michael Rockefeller disappeared from the face of the earth, presumed consumed.

The Rockefeller family exerted thire considerable wealth and political influence in attempts at returning him to America. In the eventuality, nothing worked. Thire son was lost.

What would be the point abusing America and insulting the President for the failure of retrieving the boy or allowing him to travel there in the first place. Michael Rockefeller chose Asmat Papua New Guinea and traveled there of his own volition.

In any case, subsequently, America devised Advisories on the different nations of the world where Americans may wish to travel. If Americans fail to heed any of these advises and find themselves in trouble anywhere in the world, America the nation has the ultimate escape clause - the individual's responsibility.

Reserving your ire solely for Nigeria when foreign Nations transgress against Nigerians contributes hugly to this.

Why aren't apparently concerned Nigerians like you condemning Benin Republic ? Why have none of you pointed out that Benin Republic is evidently a barbaric and primitive nation without rule of law if they can treat a suspect in the manner reported. Is chaining a man to a bed not a human rights abuse incident? Why is this not discussed?

I have no doubt that had the case been the reverse, if a Biniose pastor was chained to a bed by Nigeria justice system , that individuals like you would join Benin Republic people in condemning Nigeria using the most derogatory terms possible.
