Romance › Some Girls Really Have Guts by Liveair(op): 7:08pm On Sep 12, 2014
This happened years back when I was still a student in the university.

One cool evening, as we usually did in our lodge, my guys and I were just sitting on the drive way kebs, enjoying the breeze after a tedious school day when a group of three girls alighted from a car that just drove by. I gently took off the earphones of my Walkman which had been playing Tribute by Yanni so I could "savour" the moment.
As you'd expect from guys, we were all eyes on them, expecially as they walked past us into the lodge. Trust guys; enough whistling, expecially from one Warri boy there.

About 20 minutes later, one of the girls who actually stayed in a suite at the lodge walked towards us and said, "please Liveair, can I see you for a moment?"
Now, we all knew ourselves as neighbour but...was something wrong? I thought to myself, was there something she needed help with fixing? No! If she needed such help, she'd call her nearest neighbour, besides, see macho men here na.

As I sheepishly followed her, see my guy men imagining things.
She lead me to her suite, just as her two friends were making their way out.
For the first time I got to see how tastfully furnished and meticulously tidy her place was.
I was busy looking for what might need fixing when I became conscious of the music playing from her sound system. "...guess am on my way...might be glad you stayed..." This was Lionel Richie at his best.

She asked me to sit, she sat down near me. At this point am saying 'blood of god' in my mind. What is happening here, I thought to myself.
In her exact words, she said, "please don't be offended that I called you abruptly from you friends, I have been...been...trying to get the right opportunity but its hard. I have observed that you are very organised and don't keep girlfriends, despite how handsome you are. Well, I guess its rude to stalk people...but I just wanted to..."

Jah jehovah armageddon! Is this real? My head had become so big it was suffocating me now. This was a girl most guys would wage war to date. She had it all, yes all!
She continued, "I really like you, yes I do. Don't even know how you'll respond but I just had to tell you".
All this while, she refused to make eye contact with me as she stylishly fiddled with studs on her belt.

While leaving her place, still dazed from it all, my Warri friend Obus rushed towards me, "Liveair, you don dey do tayan tayan for kians! You don jump from saloon enter 4×4 V6? Oghene!"
I kept thinking, did she and her two musketeer friends all brainstorm on this? And the music? This was a girl who couldn't stand a wall gecko yet had this guts to call a guy out from his friend to bare her mind.
Till date I have great respect for her.

Had another experience but that's for another day.

Have you experienced such or done such?

Dux01: the truth is this.if no one that has EVER lived on this earth has EVER Seen anything, extraordinary above the natural, supernatural, religion would NOT have as much influence as it does now.am talking from ANY religion.Everyone can't just be lying because you have not seen it.
Have you seen David Copperfield perform. How about the Mirage you see on a sunny day as you drive on the road?
Properly study what Illusions are and see how easily your mind can be "bent".
Again, don't forget that most people use little percentage of their mental capacity.
Christianity Etc › Re: Life After Death Has Been Proven Clinically by Liveair:
Since all the subjects regained consciousness after the tests, this remains a NEAR DEATH experience and not a REAL DEATH experience.

The brain is a vast cache of Logic and Memory functions that maintains its buffer storage beyond "near death", drawing visual inspirations from there.
Little wonder religion plays no role as observed.

Until we see video footage of life after death, it only remains a mirage.

sistar007: Energy can never be created nor destroyed but can be transformed from one form to another.

God cannot be created and since he can't be Created he can't be destroyed.

Just get over that Omnipotent stuff.

Based on "facts" he is not a self, person, or individual and so there is nothing to destroy.
Are you now saying that your God is not a personality or being but an ENERGY?

asalimpo: if u dont know what incited means get a dictionary.
Whats d crap abt first to comment and thread countg and age? Age doesnt mean wisdom.
As an atheist askg a mocking question about a God you dont believe in- what learning is there for you?
So who isnt a fool who waste his words on you- a person who has closed his mind and taken a stand already- tryg to convince you (when he knows ur motive is cynical and his effort is futile)!
Emm...pls go and watch cartoon since you are clearly mentally deficient for this discourse.
Opinionated fanatics like you jump into threads before asking what is being discussed.

alexleo has told you he is researching and learning here and so am I.
Christianity Etc › Re: If God Is Omnipotent, Can He... by Liveair(op):
alexleo: His omnipotency is what makes him indestructible. It is that unlimited power that makes him infinite, unchangeable therefore cannot be extinguished. If God is finite just like you and i physically. If he can be destroyed then he cant be omnipotent. Thats why i said its your ability to win that makes you a winner.
Bro, like I said, you had already answered the question when you said he CAN'T remove himself from existence.
josh65 also said something awakening earlier. Don't know if I fully got him though.
Christianity Etc › Re: If God Is Omnipotent, Can He... by Liveair(op): 2:13pm On Sep 10, 2014
alexleo: And i ask you, what makes you a winner? Is it your ability to lose or to win? How does God extinguishing himself from existence make him omnipotent? God's omnipotent nature is about his unlimited power over his creation not his power to extinguish himself. As for himself, he has said it in Malachi 3;6- I am the Lord, I change not.

He cant change his infinite nature, his never-dying-nature. It is the flesh that is created to die and be extinguished. The spirit (which is the undying part of man also lives on even when the flesh is dead). God is a spirit. Spirits can be tormented but they cant die. In the scripture you ll hear some evil spirit in a person asking Jesus- why have you come to torment us?
Good. This is another angle to it.
Does this mean he is only Omnipotent with regards to his recorded creation and not concerning himself?
Christianity Etc › Re: If God Is Omnipotent, Can He... by Liveair(op): 2:01pm On Sep 10, 2014

What hav u learnt so far? Probably preparing ur next illogical question for ur next thread. *anything to get christians chattering and ur thread count rising. No learning occuring. No impact just debate*.
So alexleo, josh65 and Co are all fools to have contributed?
Why are you getting worked up for nothing?
Has anybody here told you he/she was incited?

By the way, am too old for you and your group of "First to comment", "thread count rising", etc friends.

Those contributing are learning, if you are not, try harder.

Was it to learn and be educated or just for the fun of inciting dry debate?
Answering question with questions!
If you have no answer just read and learn.
Christianity Etc › Re: If God Is Omnipotent, Can He... by Liveair(op): 8:12am On Sep 10, 2014
alexleo: You said he should use his almighty power to wipe himself out. How possible is that. The suicide bomber you gave as an example made use of a more destructive power. What is that power that is beyond the almighty power of God? Thats the only power that can wipe him out.

And yes, God was not created that's why he has no beginning and no end. Creation involves planning and takes a process but God did not come to be through this. His nature did not pass through creation. He is not a product of creation. So the issue of uncreating himself does note even arise. You ddont uncreate what was not created. The scripture never told us he was created or he evolved through a process. He has been there even before time, days and dates came into existence.

Again the nature of God is an infinite nature, a never-dying nature so the issue of him wiping himself out is just not there.
My point; If there is something he cannot do, according to you, he can't put himself out of existence, how is he Omnipotent.
Actually, you have already answered the question.

bambeolumide: I think the answer is pregnant.
But the question seems to be as if someone is trying to disput the GOD of creation. It can never be done because no one created him.
So "THE SOURCE OF LIFE CANNEVER BE VANISHED."
I think you are gaining some senses now.
So please the question seems as if: "satan CLAIMED TO TAKE OVER GOD'S THRONE"
I think the thought seems as if one want to start rebelling against God.
Stop trying to know the full mystry of God when attempting to know it in the bad lite.
Please quit the thoughts.
AMEN
If the answer is pregnant, then mid-wife it. If you have the answer then tell us.
We developed brains so we can use them to reason. Since you know the full "mystery" of God in "good light", please tell us;
Can the Omnipotent God put himself out of existence?

You've got to give it to this man. Prof. West has the panache and courage that real men are made of - say it convincingly like it is, with backing facts.

Same Prof. who explained to us, during the Fuel Subsidy Palaver, how the subsidy really was non-existent, with real facts.

Only in nigeria do people celebrate mediocres like Asari and his Oga on top.

alexleo: There were places angels carried out assignments for God. Of course that's their duty. But the places I quoted shows it was God that manifested himself in that form. God has the power to manifest himself in whichever way he wants and feels ok for whatever message he wants to deliver. We can't describe God enough. Even Ezekiel couldn't give a definite description of him.

Now back to your OP. I ask- can you destroy yourself? I mean can you wipe yourself from the surface of the earth?
Don't let us go through all the explanation again.
Isaiah 63:9;
"In all their affliction he was afflicted, and THE
ANGEL OF HIS PRESENCE saved them..."

Hahaha, I thought I was doing the questioning. Anyway, yes, people have killed, destroyed and obliterated themselves; suicide bombers are doing so.
But again, I am not Omnipotent.
Christianity Etc › Re: If God Is Omnipotent, Can He... by Liveair(op): 2:20pm On Sep 08, 2014
alexleo: So you are separating the presence of God from God himself? Why do you think so?
Wow! Its not me bro, am explaining to you what your bible says. That's why I quoted those passages for you to see the difference.
Biblically, God never has to leave his throne but can have his manifested presence or glory where he pleases.

Isaiah 63:9;
"In all their affliction he was afflicted, and THE ANGEL OF HIS PRESENCE saved them..."

sistar007: A God can't stay in a human body. It will limit him down to the law of nature. (Believe it or leave). God is beyond nature. Why would he breath air into his own body so that he would live
Its not about Believing or Not. You have to prove your point by siting your biblical reference.
Why I said most christians will disagree with you is that Jesus said that he and the Father are one. He also said to his followers that he who has seen him has seen the Father. See John 10:30.
Christianity Etc › Re: If God Is Omnipotent, Can He... by Liveair(op): 8:33am On Sep 08, 2014
alexleo: Numbers 12:5

5 Then the Lord descended in the pillar of cloud and stood at the entrance of the Tabernacle.[b] “Aaron and Miriam!” he called, and they stepped forward

Exodus 19:9

9 Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will come to you in a thick cloud, Moses, so the people themselves can hear me when I speak with you. Then they will always trust you.”

Exodus 24:17

17 To the Israelites at the foot of the mountain, the glory of the Lord appeared at the summit like a consuming fire.
Like I said earlier, there is a difference between when the bible says THE LORD and THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD or MANIFESTED PRESENCE. His presence is a manifestation which is seen as Clouds, Fire and Thunder.

Ezekiel and Daniel saw THE LORD on his throne!
His form, his hair, his clothing, his feet were seen. In the cases of the Israelites you mentioned, they saw his MANIFESTED PRESENCE.
Ezekiel and Daniel never said God appeared IN ...

Num 12:5 which you sited states that God descended IN THE PILLAR OF CLOUD...
Why do you think it didn't simply say GOD DESCENDED? The use of the preposition IN should make it clear that its his manifested presence.

Exo 19 & 24 you sited even makes it easier to see. It says THE GLORY of the Lord...fire. That is clear enough.

Now, read Exo 33:14;
"and he said, My PRESENCE shall go with thee..."
You can now see clearly that God told Moses that his presence shall go with them.

sistar007: Jesus is already God. But I believed this happened after his peaceful and mission of love on Earth
It would be irreconcilably contradictory to say that it happened after his earthly mission 'cos creation was already done by him, as he claimed.
Christianity Etc › Re: If God Is Omnipotent, Can He... by Liveair(op): 7:20pm On Sep 07, 2014
alexleo: The description was God, no doubt, but that description was according to how he(Ezekiel) saw it like he said. Yet God appeared in a pillar of cloud in some other places and pillar of fire in some other place in the bible. What i'm saying is that the shape of God is not restricted to one particular shape. He manifests in various ways. Its not like the case of man that you can say this is exactly how man looks (e.g. he has two eyes, two ears, two hands, two legs etc).
You are mixing things up.
Daniel and Ezekiel didnt experience a manifested presence as you said, they saw God in Visions.
Now, there is a great difference btw God's Angels appearing in different forms and God Himself.
The pillar of fire (a manifestation) you mentioned was an Angel of God's presence according to the bible. Same Angel described in Rev 10:1.

The various individual accounts in the bible express similar features repeatedly; Snow-white hair, Shining loins, Dazzling white robe, Fiery feet and River-like Voice. Now, this is the biblical God ask He is.

alexleo: Appearing in the likeness of man doesn't mean they are exactly the way we are. Its just the closest word they can use to describe what they ve seen.
You seem to be agreeing yet refusing to conceed that the description is that of God.
If a friend of yours says that he saw someone that looked like you somewhere, doesn't that tell you what the person looks like?
Of course its the closest words they can use for the description because that is what it looks like.

Why didn't they use goat, sheep, cow, etc? Because he doesn't look that way period!
Christianity Etc › Re: If God Is Omnipotent, Can He... by Liveair(op): 3:28pm On Sep 07, 2014
alexleo: Must every being that is not man be an animal?

The same Ezekiel 1:5-8 still said the other four creatures had the appearance of man. Yet it said that each of them had four faces and four wings. Their feet straIght. The sole of their feet like a calf.

Each of the four faces they had were different from the other. One was the face of a man, the right side is the face of a lion, the left side the face of an ox and the fourth face is that of an eagle. All the four in each of those beings that were described as appearing in the likeness of man.

Now is this how you appear? Which human being on earth is like that?

Appearing in the likeness of man doesn't mean they are exactly the way we are. Its just the closest word they can use to describe what they ve seen.
Young man, this is exactly why I said you need a course in comprehension!
The four creatures are not God! That is why he described them differently as having four faces and hoofs and wings.
Did he describe God that way?
He has told you what God looks like, with hair, loins and sitting on a throne, with a loud voice like many waters and wearing a white robe as white ask snow.

John 14:4
"...he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then show us the Father".
Jesus is explaining here that he is exactly as the father, both in qualities and appearance.

Ezekiel 1:26 says his appearance is like unto a man.

This is clear enough so stop beating about the bush and address the main issue on the thread.
