Shaytun: The 8,000/Month for 6 month was the $800M Facility that was gotten from the world bank by the previous FG to cushion the effect of subsidy removal. It’s different from the 500 billion Tinubu requested as part of the supplementary budget.
The poverty register that list the vulnerable Nigerians was done by the past administration with support from the world bank.
That register was used to disburse an earlier loan where people received 5,000 naira, what most people are saying now is that that poverty register is a scam as most of the beneficiaries did not receive the 5,000 earlier disbursement.
And so Tinubu should not proceed with the disbursement of the 8,000 Naira as the money will most likely be looted.
And that assertion was supported, when the world bank itself released a report that claim that only 19% of people in the register receive the earlier disbursement.
I’m part of the people that don’t believe in that nonsense of sharing 8,000 naira every month to poor household, we all know it’s an avenue to loot by the politicians. So humour me. If you are against the 8000 and you have gone to great length to show it was a requirement from the World Bank, why not return their money to them and reduce the debt. Also again it's obvious that part of the money tinubu is touting to use is money that he asked CBN to print in excess. Which will invariably lead to further increase in inflation. (if you need proof of this.. Please check the current supply of naira and the difference between may and June) Also if the payment of 50% of subsidy is suddenly a strange concept to you because it is impossible to say to nnpc that instead of paying full subsidy, pay 50% and then you study and assemble your economic team to tackle the issues on ground. Also don't forget that he has settled the NJC and NASS with 110billion naira. What would you suggest they do for the common man like us to survive this period? |

Lmao.. We were borrowing to pay subsidy.. Please someone tell me how buhari was able to get nnpc to handle that payment even though it was a Limited Company.
How did buhari figure out it was possible to do that? If tinubu had done that knowing he didn't have any Immediate plans plus the fact politicians were going to insult us with this 70b thing.. Then maybe we would be breathing a little bit easier |

Shaytun: Don't let anyone sell you a Moonlight story, there is a reason why more than 6 president have been unable to remove PMS subsidy.
It's a very difficult decision to make, You must care more about setting the economic right than Populism.
If Tinubu hadn't taken that decision on day one, I'm certain we would have been accumulating more debt by now propping up an unsustainable program. Lmaooo again tell me how they each planned to remove it Bros. All this one na long story. |

Shaytun: Some of us are not dishonest folk.
The Nigerian people already passed a referendum on Subsidy removal by voting overwhelmingly for the top 3 candidates. Because they all promised to remove susbsidy if they are elected.
The only Presidential candidate that took a different stance was NNPP kwankwanso. If you had wanted to continue enjoying subsidy, Kwankwanso is the guy you should have voted for . Now tell us how they each planned to remove it? 😌 |

Itsrm: You need to get a new apartment. You are driving 100kms daily. Even if your vehicle does 10km/litre, you will spend more than 6k on fuel daily, 120k a month and 1.2m a year assuming you only go to work 5 days a week.
If you add 500k or even 1m to your current rent, it should be enough to get a place close to your office.
I have not even considered the effect on the car itself and the expenses that will come along with it. Not to mention the stress self Lmaoooo... If wishes were horses. I have to also consider where my wife works the few times she goes to work (thank God for hybrid) Also sadly, access to other parts of Lagos is a major consideration for me and places closer are not as cheap while they experience traffic and bad road to navigate with your car |

Theflint1: There was a transition phase of over a month, that's the period for these assessments you refer to, it's not like it was a transition between oppossing parties, it was an APC-APC transition.
It's almost 2 months since BAT was sworn in, he's yet to announce his ministerial list and even the names flying around as potential ministers under his cabinet shows the man is unserious.
Crying over subsidy removal that people have to a large extent adjusted to is a distraction. Lmao people have adjusted because you nor see people dey protest? Itsrm: How would you have trusted any Naija politician not to butcher anything? This was our point from day one. We never trusted that these thieves will do anything with the money. Events are starting to prove us right. Because reports showed we didn't have money again to pay for the subsidy. NNPC already said FG had not repaid their loans and that it was affecting their operational cost. What would you expect us to do? |
