Contributions is only being paid first in other to cushion financial constraints faced by dependants of the deceased.

Are you sure about this? Because my source in Stanbic said, once contributions are paid, you still can't access the funds because they'll need to do reconciliations then pay accrued rights before you can access the funds.

Batch 87 that they've paid up to is for accrued rights for government official that started work before 2004 and the other batch 83 is for death benefits.
Hopefully, the should get to batch 90 and 86 respectively before the end of the year

Your question has been answered by @Thefarmer3. The year doesn't matter. What matters is the batch your application has been put under.

Just spoke with them now, I gave the lady my dad's pin and she confirmed our batch as 97, also told me the last batch they paid is 84 for death benefits

She confirmed this too. My late dad's batch is 90 and she said early next year so fingers crossed

Then you are good to go. She has indicated that your mum is her mum on her affidavit. She has also filled your details in her applicationas as her sibling. I believe you have nothing to be worried about. I would say please go ahead.

Please go to Canada's website. Cic.gc.ca to read about it. It is unacceptable. Nairaland is to help you. Nairaland isn't an authority. In this journey, you have to learn how to research and not believe all you hear hook, line and sinker. Many nigerians are lazy when it comes to digging out info. They want to be spoonfed. Invest time in researching correct info. Shalom. Even when u do your CRS score. It tells you who's acceptable as a sibling.

I'm bringing it here because I've not found any valuable information online and I'm trying to lean on other people's experiences. You don't have to be condescending in your speech.

!) does your birth certificates bear the same parent name
2) Is she a PR. IF yes, when submitting, did she put your name down as a sibling?

Her affidavit bears my mum's name. She's a citizen and yes she did.

In other to prove sibling relationship, usually you will have to submit birth certificates for both you and your sibling. Typically, your birth certificate will show who your parents are. Does your cousin have documents indicating that your mum is her mum?

She doesn't have a birth certificate but when she was leaving the country, her date of birth affidavit has my mother's name. Does that suffice?

Thank you because I've been worried if I should indicate it. My mom adopted her when she was 2 years old (Even though there are no legal documents to prove it). She lived with us her entire life until when she left Nigeria to study in Canada 8 years ago. We both have photos and correspondence to prove it.

I left my my late dad pension fund with fidelity pension since those people decided to stress the life out of me after i have provided all the documents needed including the letter of administration that took almost 1year to process...Only for them to come out with the excuse that the death certificate i presented to them wasnt valid...The same death cert i used to process the letter of administration and open an estate account oh.....Pension managers in Nigeria are all scam...u will only get ur money wen ur alive but ur next of kin wont be allowed access to ur funds...This is my own experience

I just tried stanbic ibtc for my late fathers accrued right which was in batch 82, and the funny thing they told me was that they haven't received his payment from pencom

Ask them for the receipt showing remittance to the government. One of the insurance companies that paid my dad's group life insurance was AIICO and they never pulled this stunt.
