Please can you share the emails. I'll really appreciate because I think this PFA is applying delay tactics. Over 3 months and they haven't verified the documents I submitted

They haven't paid me too. Stanbic ibtc batch 90 accrued death benefit.
When I message stanbic, they said they are reviewing my message that they will get back to me soon.
That's how they also did when I wanted to access the contributory. They said I can't access it , but later paid when I reported them to pencom

Access which contributory, please. Yours?

Also, please how did you report them to Pencom, did Pencom take up your case with them?

Not yet ooo. Still waiting for the hospital to confirm the death certificate. That's the only delay right now. Very frustrating.

Hello House, please I'm at crossroads. I have a degree from a University in Singapore that got bought over by an Australian University. Can I claim this as Australian education being that when I graduated it wasn't part of the Australian University but is presently so.

No its not. The Pencom account has been reconciled. However before the PFA can pay you, they said the documents must be verified before they send the approval to Pencom to pay.

I just tire for the verification again because I know they already verified before sending to Pencom in the past for reconciliation. This whole process is just frustrating.

We have not been paid yet. The court strike is delaying things with confirming the documents.

I wouldn't know. Your PFA will be in the best position to advise if the account has been reconciled by Pencom or not. You can also find out from Pencom.

RSA OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION PALAVA

Things just dey clumsy to me sef maybe it because I need cash.

1. pencom rep stated "Once beneficiary has been established and identified by the courts all money in the deceased RSA is transferred to beneficiary's account"

2. PFA rep emphasized they still reconciling & approval fr Pencom before payment

3. But shebi pension benefits will kuku be paid to Administrator direct

4. Obviously no more business with PFA anymore if (3) above span out like that....so why withholding the bal

Once Pencom has reconciled the account, you can access the money in the pension account even before the death benefits and accrued rights are paid.

You'll need to apply to have the money paid into the beneficiary account. Once the pfa has verified the documents and forwarded to Pencom for approval, the money will be transferred to the account number you indicated when submitting the application. This doesn't take time according to information from the PFA. Whenever the accrued rights and death benefits are paid, it'll be transferred also to the beneficiary's account without any additional submission.

Your PFA will tell you. In my own case, the PFA informed us.

The PFA giving excuse they still awaiting feedback from Pencom for FG benefits, then since those benefits will be lodged into Estate account direct they ought to release the fund or is it because of their gain from investing with it.

Yes you can claim the balance in the account once Pencom has reconciled the account

Death benefit; Like if someone is still working with an organization and died before retirement, the employer with pay the family/beneficiary 3x the annual salary (one-year salary x3)

Group life insurance is a bulk insurance plan bought for all the active worker in an organization. If one dies in active duty, the beneficiary gets the pay but when the person retires, the insurance becomes null

Didn't know this. Does that mean they'll still pay my father's death benefit? He died in active service

Accrued right are for government workers who started working before year 2004 because government have to settle the for the services they rendered to the government.

Death benefit are for the government workers who died while in active duty. It's for those who hasn't retired and died. It comprises of three times the annual emolument of the worker.

Contributory is the voluntary contribution made by the worker before he/she died.

Which one is yours among all?

Is the dead benefit the same thing as life insurance

PFA. So I have to apply to have it paid into our account. Hopefully it doesn't delay again ooo because they'll still need PENCOM's approval.

Good News! I was at the PFA today and they told me my late dad's account has been reconciled and accrued paid. Batch 90.

I got through to them yesterday and this was what they said:

For Contributions Portion of Death Benefits: Up to (Batch 89) has been paid. For Accrued Death Benefits: Up to (Batch 85) has been paid.

This information about Group life still stands. The issue now is that pension desk officers are not willing to tell beneficiaries the brokers in charge. This have caused many families to have unnecessary delays in getting their group life. This country really needs to grow.

This is so true. In my own case, we had a very helpful pension desk officer (May God keep blessing her). She told us the broker in charge, their address and gave us all the documents we needed to process the group life. I personally chased the broker and insurance companies. We got paid within two months from submitting to the broker. There were different insurance companies on the discharge voucher so they paid at different times. First insurance company within a month and last one was in four months.

From what I understand, the retirement savings account carries contributions made by the individual and the MDAs (8% contribution by the individual and another 8% by the employer monthly?). At death, the beneficiary is expected to get Em bloc the whole sum on the RSA. The amount entails;
1. Accrued rights, which are contributions before June 2004, the government usually make provision in her budget every year and are remitted to the RSA.
2. Contributions, I already explained these above. Monthly remittance by the RSA holder and his/her employer. Usually the standing balance on the RSA at death.
3. Death benefit. This is also known as the group life, which is 3 times the total annual emoluments of the deceased person and they are by law paid into the RSA.
I stand to be corrected.

I believe this changed because we've been paid the group life insurance for my father who died in service. What we are waiting for now is the Accrued rights.
