Ubenedictus: so if a woman gives birth and d child is called "baby" by visitors and on the 4th day d parents give baby a name eg joy, does that mean baby is different from joy? In the earliest stage of the church it wasnt named instead it adopted d name of d town or city eg 'the church in rome' or "the church in ephesus" as time went on the church was name by the christians according to her mission. That is "the church to the universe", the catholic church. Just as baby isnt different from joy so is d early xtian church not different from the catholic church. And it took time b4 xtians stated using d rosary, but on the other hand, the early church had images just as d catholic church does.

sorry my dear, u have been misinformed there are many married catholic priest like st peter and many celebate catholic priest like st paul and john. Correct urself.
u again have been misinformed paul wasnt d only celibate in d early church, john is also called a "virgin". And in the catholic church there is no doctrine called "compulsory celibacy", like i said earlier there are many married priest. Catholic teaching on celibacy is based on 1 cor 7:32-35.

we dont collect first fruites because it is strange to christianity, yes we will recieve offerings(collections) for obvious reasons, you know, we ve church expenditure like electric bills etc, but the pastors will not have anything to do with church money as all our pastors are encourage to work and earn a living. A committe handles church money and gives reports on reciepts and payments every sunday after service.

So quit spreading the false notion that the first Christians were catholics.

pls stop embarassing christians. There is nothing like pentecostal in christianity or anything for that matter, the church of Jesus is one. Jesus said "i will build my church....," Mat 16:18, he did not say, i will build my pentecostal church and orthodox church. Na una de spoil christianity.

Samchelsea: Sorry but if your church is a bible believing church then you'll know that tithe was mentioned in the book of Malachi chapter 3 verse 6-12 so don't mislead people

sorry bro we are not misleading anybody here, we dont condemn any church that collect tithe, the fact that everybody is doing the wrong thing dosnt make it ripht. The death of Christ abolished tithe. I will not do the thing that i know is wrong.

You said it urself 'weightier matter of the LAW, that is to say even in the dispensation of the LAW there were other things that were more IMPORTANT (weightier) than tithe. And Christ made this statement b4 His death., if you know what i mean.

my brother tithe is not for christians but was part of the law given to the old covenant ppl (jews) so it is not a question of whether you are still living with ur parents or not, the truth is you should not pay tithe all, in our church Living Waters in Calabar we dont collect tithe becos we have not seen anyplace in the bible where Jesus or any of the disciple recieve, pay or even say anytiing about tithe. The death of Jesus Christ abolished tithe. Other churches like Church of Christ, The Jehovah Witness etc share in this truthe and do not put this yoke on thier members
