Buhari is a lousy politician. He talks before thinking of the political implication of his words. Buhari said last year ''an attack on BH is an attack on the north''. A man who said in 2001,that he wants to spread sharia throughout the federation & also that muslims should only vote for muslims, and also 'why should christians be concerned when muslims cut off their limbs under sharia that after all the limbs that are cut off are muslims ones & not christians & why should the christians bother about it.
His threats during the campaign for the 2011 elections incited widespread violence in the north after he lost. His supporters went on a rampage,looting & killing. In spite of the fact that the election was adjudged the most free & fair in the history of nigeria's current democratic experiment. By the time the mayhem had subsided,over 1000 people had been slaughtered in cold blood & some 65000 displaced. Forgeting that a statement made in hausa would readily be translated into english, buhari later declared unapolegitically in BBC intervie. 'if what happened in 2011 should again happen in 2015,by the grace of God,the dog & the baboon would all be soaked in blood'. These are the token of an irresponsible politician whose ambition for power supersede the national interest.
When buhari seized power. Buhari put shagari under house arrest but then he jailed Alex Ekwueme the VP. You may well ask what makes shagari less cupable for the misdeeds of the 2nd republic that his number-two man. The simple fact was that buhari was fulani as was shagari but Ekwueme was Igbo.
