You must be runningAndroid 4.4 kitkat, though some people with OS4.3 Jelly bean are rocking it; but the most successful so far with this feature are those running Lollipop OS.

==> and sideload it (you’ll need to enable Unknown Sources in your Security setting first) and get yourself an invitation to use the new feature from someone that already has it.

But…

There is another way for rooted users to force this function into existence, though stressful, as you’ll need to be connected to your PC and open a terminal every time you want to WhatsApp call someone (until it is enabled permanently for you).

Just press Shift and right click on some blank space in a Windows Explorer window and select “Open Command Window here’’ and enter the following command:

Whatsapp Plus users, when this features has been fully integrated, your next whatsappPlus update will automatically carry this features.
So have you activated your own voice calling features?

Politics / Breaking News:- Obasanjo Defects To APC by loadednaija(m): 4:47pm On Jan 26, 2015
This is not just breaking news, it is also breath-taking but it is always our pleasure to bring you firsthand information so as to keep you abreast of happenings in and out of Nigeria.

Research has it that the former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo aka OBJ, has finally defected to the GMB-Driven party – APC.

This is a shocker but speaking with the former President OBJ himself at his farm in Ota, he has given a few reasons why his defecting should not just be accepted by Nigerians but should also be applauded.

Find his statement below:

“I have reason to believe that most or should I say all of you are wondering why I have chosen to defect to the defunct APC and I must say that if I had been told that I would have to switch party some 5 years ago, I myself would have argued it.

I believe in transparency and integrity but unfortunately, PDP is an opposite of such attributes.

They dwell in deception and in the lowest form of debase if I may say.

I believe change is what Nigeria needs and regardless of whether GMB can deliver or not, it is still change in a way. Nigeria needs to be delivered from a useless government that has taken over since I left presidency.

If you have read my book, you will see that Jonathan is nothing different from my VP when I was president. Atiku was just a big time backbiter unknown to him that when you have people behind you, your back actually becomes visible to you.

I want to use this medium to say a very big thank you to the leaders of the APC for accepting me as I am and I am proud to say that come 2015, APC is taking over Nigeria for good of us all.

I am a civilian like you all now so I understand what it means to live in the suburbs as you are all aware that I stay nowhere else apart from my village here in Ota.

Finally, I would like to implore all Nigerians that come 2015 Elections, VOTE GOOD GOVERNMENT NOT GOOD LUCK”

Politics / Statement By GEJ Regarding Meeting With U.S. Secretary by loadednaija(m): 6:46am On Jan 26, 2015
Statement by GEJ regarding meeting with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry

The State House press release below…
It was a pleasure to welcome Secretary John Kerry to Nigeria.  We had a candid and constructive discussion about a broad range of issues.

Nigeria is a vibrant democracy and the largest trading partner of the United States in Africa, with more than $18 billion in bilateral trade.  Our countries and peoples share a mutual admiration for each other and a deep commitment to freedom, democracy, and human rights.

This is why we are together engaged in a struggle against a common enemy that promotes terror, fear, division, and violates human rights, most especially of women and girls, with complete impunity.  Winning the fight against Boko Haram in Nigeria and West Africa is absolutely essential to beat back the tide of religious extremism around the world.

Our security forces have been working tirelessly and courageously to achieve this goal.  I reaffirmed for Secretary Kerry that Nigeria is strongly committed to building the multinational task force to fight Boko Haram in partnership with Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Benin Republic under the auspices of the Lake Chad Basin Commission.  Indeed, I called publicly for such a regional approach at the African leaders summit in Paris in May 2014 and more recently in multilateral meetings.

We are pleased that the international community is now strongly united behind this initiative and agree that its success is critical. It is equally important that the multinational force receives the significant support that is required to address the threat through our global partners.

The United States, more than any other country in the world, has the most experience fighting armed insurgencies.  And having suffered the devastating attacks of 9/11, its people also understand the insecurity and fear that is the reality for the vast majority of peaceful, tolerant Muslims and Christians in North Eastern Nigeria.

This is why I firmly believe that enhancing and expanding various channels of cooperation between our two countries, in the context of growing international coordination, are of the utmost importance.  I discussed a number of ideas with Secretary Kerry to move such cooperation forward.

We are grateful to the United States for standing with Nigeria and its people in our fight against Boko Haram.  I reaffirmed our strong commitment to working together with the United States to put an end to global terrorism and particularly Boko Haram.  Nigeria will also work to deepen and consolidate our bilateral relationship with the United States.

I emphasized to Secretary Kerry that I am deeply committed to ensuring that our forthcoming election is free, fair, and credible.  It is especially critical that all political parties abide by the Abuja Accord, which commits each to non-violence before, during, and after the election.

I made it absolutely clear that the May 29th handover date is sacrosanct.  In addition, the Government will provide all resources that are required by the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure that the election goes smoothly.  I also emphasized that INEC is an independent body, which makes its own decisions without any interference from the Government.

Politics / Prepare President Goodluck Jonathan Ahead Of Presidential Debate by loadednaija(m): 6:27am On Jan 26, 2015
With the Presidential elections on the Horizon, many Nigerians have been clamoring for a Presidential Debate where the candidates of all the contesting parties would come to the fore to reveal their agenda for Nigeria. However, many see it as merely the best platform for the 2 front runners, President Goodluck Jonathan and General Muhammadu Buhari of the APC to lock horns on an intellectual level.
In preparation for this eventuality, sources in Aso Rock revealed that The President and his Aides have been having clandestine meetings to fine-tune him in readiness for the debate.

Here comes an audio clip of the most recent Debate Practice session of .com, which we have carefully and painstakingly typed out, word for word, innuendo for innuendo, for your viewing.

GEJ: *taps microphone hung on his shoulder* , is this thing working?

:
Yes Mr. President Sir, we can hear you loud and clear

GEJ: Good. Ehen , remember what I said. No unnecessarily difficult question please. It’s just debate, not WAEC Further Maths

: Yes Mr. President. And we begin….
Presidential Debate Simulation Take

GEJ: , you can start now.

: Good Morning Mr. President and welcome to this Presidential Debate

GEJ:
Good Morning how is blogging?

:
*whispper* Sir, you’re supposed to call me Mr. Moderator. This is a simulation.

GEJ: Oh, I’m so sorry. Good Morning Mr. Moderator.

: So Mr. President, Our 1st Question to you is this; how many credits did you get in your WASC?

GEJ: Ah. That’s an easy one; I got 3 Distinctions and 6 Credits from 7 subjects.

: Wonderful. My next que…..

: Wait a minute, Mr President. 3 Distinctions and 6 Credits adds up to 9 Subjects, not 7.

GEJ: Eh? Oh……….uhm……..hmm………that’s correct. Might need to set up a committee to look into that……

: Reuben please, we do not have time for Arithmetic. Next Question Mr. President; What do you have to say about Asari Dokubo’s recent rants in the media about breaking up Nigeria if you lose the election?

GEJ: Yes. You see, I have said this before. Just like Boko Haram, Asari is also our brother. You cannot send SSS to go and arrest your brother. Unless of course your brother is in the opposition party and is trying to make you lose election. This is not what Asari is doing. Boko Haram have been making video talking rubbish, have you seen me order a drone strike at Sambisa? It’s not like we don’t have drones. Have you heard of the Made In Nigeria AMEBO III drone? But he is our brother. We cannot just kill our brother. Same applies to Asari, he is our brother. I’ll have to call him on the phone and tell him to shut up some times *brings out phone and starts dialing*

: Not now Sir, Not Now. After the debate.

GEJ: Ehn? Okay then. Next Question ……I mean……….Mr. Moderator

: Speaking about Boko Haram Sir, what are your plans to defeat them if elected for 4 more years? Nigerians have been wondering if your inability to end the menace in your current tenure is enough reason to vote in Gen. Buhari of the APC to see if he has a better plan of action, especially based on his Military background.

GEJ: This Boko Haram issue is not Child’s play as we all know. We also know America keeps doing us bad belle. Sell Arms to us, they say No. Okay send Marines to train our boys, they say no. Honestly I am tired. Chad and Niger aren’t helping matters either. Maybe every now and then Cameroon helps out but we are more or less in this on our own. I don’t think that will change if Buhari becomes President. Why would anyone refuse to help me but willingly want to help Buhari? Come on. I’m Younger, Friendlier, speak better English, Passed more subjects in WAEC, Have more swag, do more exercise…………..I mean, have you people not seen the video of me online doing exercise? Come on….

: But General Buhari has a beautiful wife and a beautiful daughter…

GEJ: leave that thing. Is it by beauty? Was JFK’s wife not a beauty queen that year? Did it stop Assassins from putting a bullet in his head? No it didn’t! Was Maryam Abacha not the most beautiful light skin ever in Aso Rock? Did it stop her husband from eating Indian Apple? See, beauty is nothing here. Faka is my sweetheart, she has the curves a man wants, she is my spec. As for my daughter, did you not see her wedding pictures? She may not be a beauty queen but we will still share Gold IPhone on her wedding.

: Wow……..Mr President you really know about history. We must add this to our campaign Banner

GEJ: Yes , you do that.

:
sir! In your recent statement which you claimed that Buhari, your major contender of the opposing party popularly known for the word “CHANGE”, doesn’t even have a permanent voters card (PVC) that he should not even be gunning for presidency let alone campaign. Is that really true?

GEJ: yes of cause, I made that statement. I know he can’t win the election, let alone surpassing me with one vote, which he don’t even have the PVC to do that.

: Does that mean not everyone that will cast a vote in this coming election?

GEJ: Probably! …next question.

: Sir………..about the Youth on Twitter trying to get you re-elected….

GEJ:  But what kind of questions did you even bring here?

: Sir…

GEJ: My friend don’t sir me. You think this is the kind of questions they will ask that day? Do you even know who they hired to set the debate questions? AMANPOUR! And that wicked panel on Channel that were asking about the website of the NSCDC. You think these are the kain queshions they will ask that day? You disappoint me Reno. Get back to your tweets

: Very sorry see. I’ll personally see to it that the questions are revised

GEJ: Good. Has anyone seen Doyin of late? That fat man has been dodging my calls. I know he’s the one starting these stupid twitter hashtags. What is #GEJMyVal for God sake? When I said find a response to Febuhari I meant merge my own name with a month too! Like Marchluck or Juneluck…….not that nonsense…..

: sir, but is that why you wants the election date to be postponed, just because the February might favour Buhari ?

GEJ: yes! Definitely, nothing should be trusted in d game of politics.

: so, what postponement date are we expecting from you or the INEC ?

GEJ: march or june, so that the media and others can call the election marchluck or juneluck

: thanks for the time sir, we wish you the best in Juneluck.

Travel / Nigerian Passport Listed As One Of The Least Powerful Passports In The World by loadednaija(m): 2:28am On Jan 25, 2015
With a passport from the United States you have access to 172 other countries. With a passport from the United Kingdom you have access to 173 other countries.
With a passport from Nigeria you have access to 42 countries.

With a passport from Afghanistan you have access to 28 countries – making it the least powerful passport, according to this infographic map.

Recently Nigerian-born actor Dayo Okeniyi was excited to announce that he had become an American citizen and a few days before him footballer Mikel Obi announced his British citizenship – with this infographic it doesn’t seem strange that Nigerians work hard to get dual citizenship from other countries.

This infographic, put together by GOOD, shows countries (in a colour coded format) that have the most powerful passports and those that have the least, using their accessibility to other countries.

The darker the colour, the more freedom that country’s residents have to travel. Orange colours mean residents can visit fewer countries with their passports. How powerful is yours?

Politics / President Jonathan Begins Campaign In Boko Haram Hotbed Today by loadednaija(m): 9:32am On Jan 24, 2015

Less than two weeks after visiting Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, President Goodluck Jonathan will visit the state again today to campaign for next month’s election.

It would be recalled Jonathan’s visit to Maiduguri on January 15, 2015, was to show support for Nigerian soldiers serving in the state in commemoration with the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

The President had been criticised in recent times for not visiting the Boko Haram insurgency-ridden state.

According to Punch newspaper report online, the President would use the opportunity of the visit to unfold plans to tackle the Boko Haram militant sect.

Meanwhile, the governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, on Friday appealed to his supporters and all citizens of the state not to show any form of disrespect to the President and his entourage during the campaign visit.

Shettima made the call in a statement by his media aide, Mallam Isa Gusau.

The governor said the call became necessary because of recent attacks carried out on the President in Bauchi and Katsina States during which irate youths reportedly went wild against the President’s convoy.

He described the acts as disrespectful, show of intolerance and extremely bad politics.

“From what I have read or heard in the media so far, there has not been any issue of such in any APC-controlled states visited by the President and Borno should not be an exception.

“We have political differences and our differences are legitimate and based on the principles of our political parties and what we stand for.

“But we must remember that His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and as citizens of this country, we have an obligation to respect his office and his person.

“Our millions of citizens who support the APC in Borno State and our Presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and anyone that supports me or any of our National and State Assembly candidates in the state should shun any act of violence, intolerance and unlawful political behaviour before, during and after the President’s visit and should remain law-abiding citizens of Borno State as our laws, norms and values demand,” Shettime said.

It would be recalled that former Minister of Education and one of the leaders of the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, had described the recent visit of President Jonathan to Maiduguri as a symbol of deceit.

Mrs Ezekwesili made the statement in a series of tweets he posted on her Twitter handle after news of Jonathan’s visit to Maiduguri was announced.

She said: “If no one told Mr. President yet, I will. Going to Maiduguri “supposedly” to boost morale of our soldiers yesterday was hallmark of deceit.”

The Naira on Friday, January 23, depreciated against the dollar as it traded at N208 from the N191.50 it sold for on Monday, January 19, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
The rate has made the Naira to lose N16.50 within five days.

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s website, however, put the Naira against the dollar at N167.50, while the Pound sold for N253.20 and the Euro stood at N193.89.

The development has resulted into speculation in the market and caused ripple effects on other currencies.

According to the Vanguard, some Bureau De Change and Black Market operators in Lagos said that they could not give rates to the Pound Sterling and the Euro.

Reportedly, dealers who preferred anonymity said that there was scarcity of dollars in circulation. They warned that the naira could depreciate further by next week.
