You know your history...

mikeapollo:
Do you know what Moboilaji Jonhnson and Lateef Jakande did in Lagos? If not, please try and do sone research

Mentioning the clearing of Oshodi as a "development achievement" is funny.
Lekki free trade zone would not have been if the Lekki Epe axis was not opened up via the road connection that attracted economic activity to that area.
Only those who did not know Jakande and Mobolaji Johnson can say Tinubu developed Lagos.
Even Tinubu himself cannot say such.
Jakande established the development plan for Lagos, including the light rail and the free trade zone. But the long military rule stopped his plans and destabilized the programmes.

Falling knives.... I believe there's a hidden structural problem yet unveiled in ACCESSCORP .... Oh there's an ongoing private placement of the N40 billion equity raise which was approved at N20.25 per share.
The arrangement involves issuing up to 1.98 billion new ordinary shares (at 50 kobo par value each) targeted at select institutional/strategic investors.

*Lasaco Assurance — N18.47bn boost:*

*What happened:* Completed a Rights Issue for *N18.47bn*, confirmed at its 2025 AGM held in Lagos. Chairman Babatunde Dabiri called it a "vote of confidence."

*Why it matters:*
- Puts Lasaco firmly above the new *Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act (NIIRA) 2025* capital thresholds ahead of NAICOM deadline
- Reinforced shareholders' funds, secured going-concern status

*What they will do with it — 5-pillar plan:*
1. *Reinsurance optimisation:* Restructure treaties to retain more risk locally, cut foreign reinsurance cost & FX exposure
2. *Market penetration:* 6 new products already launched, push into high-margin retail & bespoke corporate
3. *Digital transformation:* AI automation, core infrastructure upgrade
4. *Cost discipline:* Lean management, tighter expense monitoring
5. *Risk governance:* Stronger ERM and compliance

*New underwriting capacity:* Board says the capital allows Lasaco to take on *larger specialised risks in energy, oil & gas, aviation, infrastructure* — improving retention and reducing dependence on foreign reinsurers.

*On dividend:* Board admitted shareholders want returns but said priority now is restoring sustainable profitability and balance sheet resilience post-recap. Dividend will resume when buffers allow — same message most mid-tier insurers are giving right now.

This is the consolidation wave — bigger, better-capitalized local underwriters able to keep energy risks onshore.
Chairman Babatunde Dabiri is dragging position with megawealth01

All you have just said here is bigotry laden horse crap.
Your bigotry is not even making you think logically.

Who told you igbos didn't own industries across the country ? It is the harsh business operating environment that made pivoting to importation the path

I dont know how old you are, but you should be old to remember that we used to operate textile Mills across the country till Nigeria signed wrong deals and the Chinese undercut us afterwards

But dont worry. keep thinking it will affect igbos 🤡 🤡
Improve your ways, make the market healthy, stop hiding drug lords as traders, stop piracy....then we can talk

We should stop complaining and find a solution.

The Chinese are forward thinking. I can count more 30 Chinese manufacturing companies in my village in Ogun State. This guys started importing from China to Nigeria less than 10 years ago, yet we have Nigerians who have been in the same importation business for more than 30 years yet they have no long term plan to move on to the next level whereby they can add value and create wealth for Nigerians

We should be talking of about 500 Chinese owned manufacturing companies between Sagamu local government and Obafemi Owode local governments in Ogun State
This is the scavenger model run by the Nigerian traders ... You also need to know what Igbo traders do to people of other ethnic groups to force them out of the market.... If he persists I will open up some....

Stop coming here to justify your evils in the name of trading. You people ruined ladipo, ruined trade fair, caused us pains in south Africa, you rarely build, you rarely develop, you mostly scavenge... Never about giving back....most of you who made it in Lagos go back to your villages to build factories.... Chinese coming is not ideal but that's what you get when you spend years scavenging...

You seem to understand more than most , even china mandated foreigners, Americans , Europeans , Japanese etc to Partner there citizen in joint ventures , part of the reasons they caught up fast over the last 4 decades as they opened up the country , heavy industry , automobiles , power ,machineries , everything , only relaxed this rule a few years back , the average African is ignorant of many things , the Arabs of the gulf states does similar

I have no support for exploitative pricing , most of the traders were complacent anyway and had it too easy , they will have to sit up and compete and reduce there bloated margins , it is what it is

Btw mainly in manufacturing and I have been doing business with the Chinese for over 25 years , there is a lot to admire and learn from them
They can't compete. I remember a fight I witnessed in the Computer village between a laptop seller and buyer...after booting up the system the buyer was dissatisfied with the graphics and declined to pay for it. The seller insisted he must pay o.... Na so fight start.... Flash back to advanced countries where you can return an item in 4 weeks if not satisfactory.... Our traders have been having it too easy...

You are making reference to figures under ''Group''.
