The only project mallam Rochas Okorocha has completed in Imo State is building Mosque at the cardinal points in Owerre. At the each entrance of all the major link roads connecting Owerre, thus, Owerre/Okigwe, Owerre/Onicha, Owerre/Umuahia, Owerre/Aba and Owerre/Igwe Ocha (Port Harcourt), there is mosque. In reality, power has improved significantly in Port Harcourt, but it has nothing to do with rivers power plants, Amaechi arrogantly demanded that Jonathan should grant rivers state the sole right to GENERATE, TRANSMITE and DISTRIBUTE which the FG refused because it will kill the POWER ROAD MAP. To be sincere, i was thinking "AMAECHI ELECTRICITY" was part of stable power supply in rivers state until Afam power plants, was shut down for maintenance, my dear, it was three weeks of total black out, where was AMAECHI ELECTRICITY through out the days, I don't know.

Right now, we're enjoying steady light.

Amaechi's power plant is functional with gas supply. The problem now is the transmission company (Transcon) on the orders of presidency refused to evacuate the generated capacity. They asked the IPP not to evacuate to its lines! Now tell me, whose interest does such a decision serve? Nigerians? Jonathan's? Amaechi's?

If the transmission company refused to transmitte the "AMAECHI ELECTRICITY" by the order of Jonathan, how come he's boasting and crediting the power improvement in Rivers state to his effort. Between you and Amaechi, somebody is not saying the truth.

I have always insisted that state governors should complement the efforts of the FG by investing in power generation and distribution in their state. However, we must not forget that Peter Odili also built power plants. Amaechi has now added more capacity and power plants. But do all those power plants have assess to gas? How much megawatts is being generated at the moment?

And we must not forget that the business of power supply goes beyond building of power plants. There is also transmission and distribution. Even if you have 1,000 megawatts but cannot transmist or if can transmit but cannot distribute, the 1,000 megawatts will lie waste. Now, the distribution of power is in private hands with FG having about 40% shares. So in the end, it is a chain and for whatever achievement is made in Rivers State, the glory is shared between the federal govt and state govt. Except if Amaechi has his own distribution system and that is not the case. What we have is PH disco and it has been privatised. After all, we also have stable power supply in Enugu and I'm sure it is not Amaechi's power plants that is serving us here.

Rivers state has more money than some some five Africa countries, whatever Amaechi is boasting of is a failure when compared with the resources at his disposal. With almost two trillion naira in six years, Rivers state can not boast of any running water tap.
