PhockPhockMan: The National Coordinator of the South East Amalgamation for Goodluck 2015 and former Commissioner for Information in Imo State, Nze Elvis Agukwe, has stated that the activities of the Boko Haram has turned Igbo land to a refugee camp.According to him, the sect’s activities have caused many people of South Eastern extraction to leave the North East in droves, saying this has hindered the chances of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to win any elective position in the zone. Agukwe declared that Governor Rochas Okorocha and Chris Ngige, who are the major financiers of the APC in the zone, are finished politically, noting that they are living on borrowed time. He disclosed that arrangements have been concluded for the launch of the South East Amalgamation for Goodluck for 2015 in Dallas, Houston Texas, United States of America (USA) on July 13 to drum support of the Igbos globally for Jonathan’s re-election. Agukwe, while briefing newsmen in Abuja, said in line with the group’s decision to mobilise Igbos globally to support Jonathan in 2015, it decided to move to the USA to brief Ndigbo and formally inaugurate the Dallas chapter. His words: “Already, Dallas is agog because our coordinator in the USA, Dr. Acho Orabuchi, is being honoured by the American Government as one of the best teachers in the US. The Nigerian community will also honour Orabuchi for his rare achievementon Saturday, July 12. “President Jonathan has respected Ndigbo in the scheme of things in Nigeria, and he has demonstrated this by fully integrating Ndigbo, so we believe that he deserves our support and we shall stop at nothing to mobilise totally for his re-election in 2015,” he added. On the possibility of Jonathan winning the 2015 elections in the South East, Agukwe said: “If in 2011, President Jonathan secured 80 per cent of the votes cast by the people of the South East, this time around, he will garner between 90 and 99 per cent.“The people have seen with their own eyes what the President has done in Igbo land in the last threeand half years. The traders from Aba and Onitsha now go to Enugu to board international flight to Dubai.“Before Jonathan, there was no international flight from any part of Igbo land for 43 years after the war.”APC is abomination in south east, we eat with them with long spoon. |

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a party blinded by desperation to control federal power following its constant attack on the administration of PresidentGoodluck Jonathan. The PDP made the observation in response to Wednesday’s statement by the APC in which the opposition party accused President Jonathan of impunity and failure. The PDP in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, said the statement by APC was “a desperate effusion of noise, fury and falsehood which are the unmasked trademark of the Nigerian equivalent of the ancient Athenian thirty tyrants”who would not mind the nationon its knees in quest for power”. Metuh said the recent statement by APC showed that the opposition party “is trading in its best merchandise – falsehood, deceit, blackmail, sheer pernicious propaganda.“This political party, the APC, is the centrifuge of violence in Nigeria, and like the “thirty tyrants “ in the ancient Athens, it’s desperately looking for excuses to truncate democracy and ruin our collective destiny, but Nigerians are not ready to dig in with them,” the PDP spokesman added. Metuh in the statement insisted that it was on record that no administration in the recent history of Nigeria achieved in its first three years up to what President Jonathan has so far achieved despite unprecedented security challenges.“In the past three years, the Jonathan administration has squarely tackled massive infrastructural development with thousands of kilometres offederal roads and bridges either constructed, reconstructed or rehabilitated while the long forgotten rail system is now steaming back tolife with modern coaches even as expansion of network is on-going.“Various measures for air safety also took centre stage with the vast expansion and rehabilitation of facilities at all federal airports in a gale of efforts that changed the face ofthe nation’s aviation industry inless than three years.“Transformation also touched critical infrastructure in Agricultural Transformation Project where over six million farmers have been empowered and in housing where the Nigerian Mortgage Refinance isanchoring a new dimension in mass affordable shelter,” he stated. Metuh also said in industry and investment, an investmentfriendly environment had been created, effective wealth creation mechanism ensured and competent indigenous entrepreneurs were reaping the benefits and taking centre stage in the global market competition.“The Almajiri education system in the North is a creation of the Jonathan administration just like the YouWin and a SURE-P project whose excels in the improvement of the Nigerian living standard is obvious,” among other projects he listedThe PDP said the outburst of APC was an indication of the fear nursed by the opposition party that it would not do well in the forthcoming 2015 general election. The PDP also insisted that the APC should stop accusing the leadership of the ruling party of being corrupt, saying those who lead APC were more corrupt than anyone can think of. http://dailypost.ng/2014/07/11/2015-apc-blinded-desperation-power-pdp/ |
The Adamawa State chapter of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN) has provided its secretariat for use by the seven-man investigative panelset up by the state’s former Acting Chief Judge, Ambrose Nammadi, to probe Governor Murtala Nyako and his Deputy, Bala James Ngilari. This is even as the embattled Nyako has said that he is not really perturbed by the impeachment proceedings againsthim, especially as the problem has not reached a crisis point. The governor spoke at the Presidential Villa after attending the launch of the Safe Schools Initiative intended to provide more secure and conducive learning environment for schools in the terrorism-ravaged Northeast and other parts of the country. Cornered by reporters to respond to the political inferno in his state,Nyako said the state was calm, and that since the issue was before the court, he expected the lawmakers to obey the law in anything they were doing.Meanwhile, the former Acting Chief Judge, Mammadi, whose, tenure elapsed last Tuesday, July 8, 2014, is faced by the challenge of venue for the sitting after the constitution of the panel last week.It would be recalled that the panel, which was constituted last Friday, has since then been unable to secure a venue for its sitting within the state capital for couple of days as a result of security threats. This followed the ejection of the panel from its J&J Holiday Villa. After several search, the panel could not get an operational base until Wednesday. However, officials of the state branch of MHWUN, including its chairman, Jeremiah Nkyekwar, while speaking to newsmen, said he was not aware of leasing its secretariat to the panel and wondered why such decision should be taken behind him. Meanwhile, the panel, which announced Friday, July 11, 2014 as its commencement date for sitting, has served Nyako and his Deputy, Ngillari with notice of hearing by pasting it on the entrance of the Government House, even as the duo were unavailable.Meanwhile, the suit filed by the governor and the All Progressive Congress (APC), challenging the impeachment process embarked upon by the state House of Assembly was stalled on Wednesday due to the absence of a substantive Chief Judge following the expiration of the tenure of the current holder of the office, Mammadi, whose tenure expired on Tuesday, July 8. Nyako had challenged the legality of impeachment notice earlier alleged to have been served on him, even as the then Acting Chief Judge of the state ruled that the case would come up on Wednesday, a day after expiration of his tenure. http://dailyindependentnig.com/2014/07/impeachment-finally-adamawa-panel-secures-office/ |
Ezemust: berem fadaMay be truth, just like Abagworo whose only relationship with Igbo is the fact that the mother of his great grandfather is from Imo state. FAKE IGBOS. |
OrlandoOwoh: You need not be, Berem is Igbo. What I see in her/him is "JACOB VOICE, ISAU'S BODY". It's Igbos? like her/him made us lose the war. I suspect her/him. |
zegbeye: Berem is not an Igbo woman...you can take that to the bankI can't agree less. |
gboss4sure: You believe she is igbo?My brother, I'm confused. |
berem: Just heard it on TVC news....Berem, I'm disappointed in you, so your joblessness has frustrated you into igniting another Anambra / Imo. The activities of Abagworo and you is pain in the neck. You enjoy discussions that brings Igboland to it's knees, but when the OFENMANUS are insulting Igbo's, you happily keep quiet. So unfortunate. |
PhockPhockMan: Former governor of Ogun State and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Aremo Segun Osoba, yesterday shocked his fellow delegates when he threatened that the South would deal with the North in 2015 if theregion failed to shift grounds on the controversial resource control and other issues. Osoba, who was contributing to the Conference committee report on Devolution of Power, which has as part of its recommendations the retaining of 13 per centderivation for oil-producing states, warned that unless the “North rubs its back” now, the South will reciprocate the gesture in 2015. Many delegates, who have spoken on the controversial issue of resource control, whichis apparently the ‘meat’of the Conference, are squarely divided across regional lines. South-south delegates are advocating for upward review of derivation to, at least, 25 per cent. Their South-east and South-west counterparts wantit pegged at 21.5 per cent. However, Northern delegates are firmly opposed to any upward review. Rather, they want the status quo to remain. Some are even advocating that a special trust fund should be set up to develop war-ravaged states in northern Nigeria. But Chief Osoba believes northern delegates who are insisting on maintaining the status quo are insensitive to the plight of Nigerians, who suffer the harsh realities of the effects of oil exploration and exploitation.Sensing that the South-west will be the ‘bride’ that will decide the outcome of 2015 presidential election, Osoba said those who want the status quo of 13 per cent to remain should adopt the system of “rub my backand I rub your back, otherwise we will deal with them in 2015 election.”Reacting angrily, a delegate from Benue State, Dr. Magdalene Dura, reaffirmed the position of the Northern delegates when she maintained that the 13 per cent recommended by the committee should stand. Dr. Dura maintained that 10 per cent of the existing 13 per cent should go to the oil producing states, while three per cent should be given to the areas actually producing the oil. Similarly, former governor of Oyo State, Senator Adewolu Ladoja, told the Conference that he supported the recommendations of the committee except on derivation. He noted that people should stop discriminating against one another, adding that many people were using blackmail to pursue the interest of their region and state at the Conference. While making reference to a remark by a delegate from the South-east, who complained bitterly of marginalisation, he said South-east was already part and parcel of the country and should, therefore, stop discriminating against themselves. He said: “They have deputy senate president, deputy speaker, finance minister, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, governor ofthe central bank, and so on. So, what are you talking about? What weare saying is we are all Nigerians, Igbo are already part of Nigeria and I love them.”No be small o. |
APC has done little to convince the Igbos that they will be protected when they gain power. Until they do that, the should forget about igbo support and vote. |
