Egypt not Tunisia Sir..

But honestly, what some people here don't understand is that Ajayi callup was more of a formality.. He made the CAF XI(not on merit self) and is in good form in Egypt. If Rohr didn't call him up,the Nigerian media might start criticizing him..
One thing is for sued though,if Ajayi doesn't impress well enough in camp,he mayn't even make d 30 man list... Chidi Nwakali was invited last year and some people said he was d solution to our overdependence on Mikel.. where is Chidi now??

Rohr already has the list of at least 80% of d players going to Russia.. save for the GK role,he might just b looking for backups for d other roles..
Ajayis callup was deserved! Nothing like formality. If gernot could give nwakeame a chance why not ajayi?
Kayode won the MVP in the Austrian league he was invited and given his chance. Nwakeame won MVP he was invited and given his chance, so why not ajayi?

The Egyptian league is not as bad as you guys are making it seem! It is probably the most respected and best league from Africa. The same league where the legendary Egyptian goalkeeper spent his career and he was still class even after coming out of retirement, Ramadan sohbi came straight from Al Aly to stoke city and he dosent look out of place in the league.
Ajayi of two years ago is not the same now. he's experienced, scored goals, won cups, became the best player of arguably the best team and league in Africa! That's not a small feat, most importantly he improved his game in such a short time. He made caf team of year, yes he's not the best striker Africa has, but he's the best striker playing in Africa.
From his recent games I watched He's a complete forward, he's very good in the air, effective on the wings, good movement, decent technique, super hardworking and he's very strong and fast! He's a goal scorer and a creator. Most important he's Team player! never gives defenders a moment of peace.
The friendlies will be a chance to show the stuff he's made of!
I know I'd prefer him to ideye!

Sure bro, it's possible for ballers to fulfill their potential or develop at a late age. Hes a late bloomer, but I don't think he's reached his peak yet, his age dosent limit him from getting better as a player, besides he's at the age defenders usually play at thier best.

Best defender? I disagree. Ekong is more solid.I know Balogun is definitely going to the world cup , my point is that Omeruo spot is up for grab if anybody puts on an impressive game in the friendlies.
I disagree! Balogun is our best defender! Ekong is solid, reliable and consistent, therefore he can be counted on, But he still has more work to do before becoming world class.
Balogun if you watched during the qualifiers was arieally better than ekong especially in the Cameroon game, he won almost all his headed duels, ekong is also solid arieally but balogun on form is a beast in the air.
I do not think we have a better interceptor of the ball in defense than Leon, his marking and tackling skills are top level.
People keep complaining about balogun struggling in the Algeria game, we seem to forget ekong was unimpressive in the South Africa game. Balogun is one who with less injuries and more game time would be world class In a year, his performances in the qualifying series cannot be ignored.

On Awaziem against Marseille

Positives- He was vertile, a natural central defender but can play left back or right back
He was a good header of a ball, good in heading- in set-pieces
A solid man-marker...took out Thauvin except for that last gasp goal...my o my...96th minutes..heatbreaking
A decent tackler. Tackles, clearances and duels were done with finesse[ compare with Taribo West aka mongaru tutti]
He uses both feet, but majorly the right.
Negative- He did not bomb forward, didnt initiate any counter attack except for one, once,he desperately kick out a ball...for a doomed counter
attack by Nantes
The goal Marseille scored ,though he deflected the ball for a corner, as a left back he should have stayed put at that left
goalpost[during
corners, left and right backs stay at their respective goalpost and goal line]Awaziem did not do this. Though there two other
defenders with him there,it was his duty to remain and kick out any goal bound shot.

Above all,we have an elegant centre back to last a decade!!!
Not just an elegant one, a potentially world class defender, who if he keeps working hard and improving at this rate in three years I see him playing for one of the best teams in the world.

We don't have any AM good enough to do the job apart from mikel, so he would not be affecting an AM but a DMF. Out of the DMs Agu looks the most likely to lose a place, etebo's dynamism is crucial.

If Etebor is to make the list to the WC, which position is he likely to perform best at and who's to be sacrificed for him?

Because it seems Amadu and the NFF indirectly wants him in Russia based on the fact that he gets to play against major players from our group opponents and he's also doing well so far.
Box to box or left/right attacking midfielder. The position will enable him run like he likes to, attack, shoot and it would fit his defensive contribution. Thereby limiting his weakness in terms of creativity. With his recent performance he's improved on his creative side greatly. I would not rule him out of the AMF role, one bad game dosent mean he can't do it. He would prove doubters wrong like Awaziem.

I concur shaa, we may never know where the next big talent may come from if we limit our eyes to the ones who have been monitored by the coaches for some time.

Manu did say he had been busy scouting some other fine talents and added to the ones from the U-15s, from abroad (like Omidiji Jr) and more, he feels he can start from there for now.... but even if the ones he has found have some potential world beaters, I agree he should still cast his net further to uncover even more rare gems.... we just cannot have enough of them... the more, the better.

and you understand football more than everyone else who agree Moses had a bad game today? Everyone is singling Moses and Morata out, but of course you know football more than everyone else.
Dude sorry to disappoint you but I don't think you really understand football. This same Moses gave morata an assist with a wonderful cross against newscastle, your complaining he dosent go forward a lot, it's seems you fail to notice Chelsea defenders overlap to the wings and push up further, when they are caught on the counter Azpi, kante and Moses are tasked with recovering the ball because of thier pace, Moses is the faster, stronger and more defensive of the wing backs, it's only logical for the slower wing back to push a lot of the attacks because he push further with knowledge he is being protected! Haven't you ever wondered why Moses who is a natural attacker converted to a wing back is always sitting deeper than a trained left back.
To you he had a bad game because he didn't do enough in the final third, I was frustrated to but that dosent rule his overall game as BAD, if you know the role of a wing back you will know Moses did his job very well, his coach values him, he must be doing something right and I'm damn sure Conte is a better coach than you.
It's guys like you that appreciate hazard for all the dribbling and flair but desist guys like matic who has an unflashy style of play, bro that's not how coaches think.

Lol, obviously you only watch football you probably do not understand the game. Moses time after time found himself in good positions but his decision making and his delivery were very abysmal. For a former winger he should be in double figures of assist by now with the space he gets game after game.

Moses is currently even trending on Twitter, everyone is talking about his poor performance today.
When you really understand football we can have an argument!

Akpeyi nd co. would not perform better than the so called rookie goalkeeper we have in Europe, let's not decide ourselves these home based keepers lack the fundamentals of goalkeeping! these basics are very crucial.
experience cannot be ignored, but let's be rational it is 2018 no body has respect anymore, a lot of young players are wayyy better than the so called experienced ones...
We cannot compare thier football education, with the rookies keepers with little experience because they have been well educated on the fundamentals of a mordern goalkeeper, and those fundamentals are still lacking in each of our home based keepers. Even if home based keepers sweat blood they would still not be able to cope with top class attackers, we are facing world class attakers in the World Cup and we want to carry Akpeyi?. There's useful and useless experience. akpeyi, echiegile those are useless experience. Mikel, onanistic, balogun musa and ikeme, those are useful experience.
It just takes a chance to know how good a goalkeeper is, and uzoho grabbed it. He will prove himself in the friendlies. He inspires more confidence that any other keeper we have presently.
To think of it I don't think wev ever had a goalkeeper with such excellent distribution like uzohos. That's a modern day goalkeeper.
And isn't this the World Cup where Pele scored at 17, where ozil, muller, James made their name. It's for the best players not the most experienced.
I still don't get how akpeyi gets an invite

Osinmeh is obviously young, instead this could be a tool in his amory, changing coaches dosent mean he should stop developing as a striker, plenty managers in your career should ensure you have a wide variety of playing systems and tactics he should know a bit! Meaning he can adapt easily to various playing styles and also have more in thier locker than the normal person. it works for the very best of players it's just the orientation.
The boy has the right orientation as a striker and as a young man, maybe why rorh likes him so much. He would go far with his head on the ground and enormous believe in himself.

Ighalo and Success? this arguments came up sometimes ago and after thorough research i realized a lot still rate Success with U 17 glory.

My man Ighalo is better than Success, goal scoring, pace and what they bring to the team generally though Success is very skillful and on the ball damn cool.

Iheanacho had a good game for liecester, good vision, improved footwork, rarely lost the ball and don't know if anyone noticed but his unpredictability and composure with the ball is impressive! Ofcourse his that's something he always had but it looked to have been raised a notch.

Ate you saying there is zero justification to say that he is not an good as was previously thoughthuh

Players either improve upwards or they begin to diminish in thier performances. This is why they seek less competitive leagues where thier deficiencies will not be so pronounced.

My view is that this actually quite young footballer only 25, Has been found to be not good enough for the EPL.

Therefore is he among the best we have or can find huh
That's the problem! Why do you judge he isn't good enough for the league? In other words the others like di Maria, depay, cuadrado who are proving themselves in other top leagues are not good enough for the Top level football?. The problem is when you say some detrimental things about our players you forget the players you clamour for are either out of our reach or not up to standard to what we have in the SE. Bros football doesn't end in England, personally Germany , Italy, Spain have a better football education than this English league your shouting. The only thing making the EPL relevant is the star players, top class managers, media coverage and the intensity. asides that what is the noise?
Musa wasent given games, I'm suprised you come out and say he dosent measure up, in little to no game time he scored a few. Then when a player leaves a club it doesn't mean that's the end of the world, he would carry the knowledge he got in England and become a better player in Russia. Except you want to come up with your numerous ridiculous theories where you say "the championship is better than the Russian league, Dutch league etc". No knowledge is wasted, your not even happy he's playing your complaining he couldn't make it in a league where he wasent given a chance.
Oga you are why a lot Europeans have no respect for us. You never have an idea of ur own, you feel they(Europeans) they are better than us in everything. psychological you are been brainwashed and you see no wrong in it. then you try justify yourself when ever you are called out for bringing down your OWN! In other words you a bad ass "ass licker".
I know Nigerian is mediocre, but remember where you are from! pulling us down would not change anything.

I blame Mikel most for Matuidi not getting the red. As soon as Onazi was fouled, Mikel was nearby and just took possession of the ball and was about to continue playing until the ref blew the whistle for a freekick.

Mikel should have halted the game immediately raising both hands up and rushed towards Onazi as if he had just been hit my a trailer.

In taking such decisions the refs also watch the reactions of the player tackled and those around him.
That tackle almost ended Onazi's career!
I'm suprised that tackle wasent a big deal because I didn't even see it damn! That's very unsportsmanlike, why would you do that to a fellow human no matter the cost, a lot of players don't come back from that!.
Matuidi should have one prayer: to not meet onazi at Russia, because I know what I would do to him if I were onazi, good old Karma never dissapoints.

When people compared a young 18 year old Lukaku to Drogba. After watching him in one game it was clear why. Apart from the small matter he had ripped apart the Belgium league as a mere 16 year old.

So if you make that comparison is it wrong to expect to see a Hugh level of quality. huh

That's not HATE that's standard rational of the reasonable man to do otherwise and accept without question the comparison proposition that would be unwise.

So I said good, I will watch him tonight to see if I can see what some have said Drogba in the waiting.
Just watch him play without bias, he is talented, dimata was on the bench when he played 90mins.
Be to sincere I don't see Lukaku like drogba. Drogba had more flair and technic, I feel they only share physicality. Drogba was a complete striker, anyone who has watched osinhem knows he's a complete striker with incredible goal scoring ability, a wonderful talent, he has a record you know 10goals in the Fifa U-17...
And you make it look like it's so easy to be bench of a regular bundesliga team, it's is very hard. Obasi, micheal hector(Chelsea), once commented on how hard it was to make it in the German league, so for a 20year old he's not doing bad atall.

This same lack of education walked Iheanacho right into the Manchester city 1st team.
How many top club 1st teamers have the Romanians accounted for?
I always say this, let us be completely honest with these children. Over 90 percent of these kids will not make it to the top leagues and the NPFL is perfect for them, there is no need rushing to some weird sounding country when there is no chance of u working ur way to one of the top 5 leagues or at least a well paying gig. Even with management and structure that leaves a lot to be desired the NPFL is still a good well paying option in some cases.
Iheanachos skill was horned at Taye academy but he got a proper football education at man city which he adapted to quickly, we can't say the same for other players. Europeans might have the facilities but Africa and South America are naturally gifted and we do have what it takes to make it at the top level our legends are enough evidence, with less resource we produce as much talent if not more than they do. Nacho is a more refined forward after his education at city, top level football is totally different ball game compared to the under-17 where nacho was sleek and we see the sacrifice he made just to get to the top level(he had to adjust his games down role to become a goal machine, there is no way you can tell me that he would have been better off in a NPFL team. besides your making the NPFL so attractive, when it is seriously below par even in African standards, how can you say it is perfect for our brightest prospects?. Hana
The pay in the league is a joke and you want serious minded ballers to play in this league, wey be say one ACL injury in a game and that's the end of your development because no better rehabilitation or fitness program in place, I doubt our players in the league know when they are injured or when they are 100% fit, that's what you want for our players that would represent us in world cups?

If all u want is Europe u are even opening the door wider for exploitation of our players. football is all about greed so let us not lie to ourselves. Why should a player be deceiving themselves in Romania or something all in the name of playing in Europe.
It's because the quality of football in Europe in general (Romania) is way better and advanced than what we have in Nigeria, they have a standard foundation of facilities and education that they do not joke with, we hardly have that, all our coaches do in Nigeria is teach individual skills, we do not have a good quality football education in Nigeria, reason why most of our talented players struggle for game time when they arrive in Europe.
Last year an awoniyi's coach in his last Dutch club loan spell, he said awoniyi was not scoring as much because he was just getting a football education, meaning after all the under 17 triumph he still lacked a basic fundamental education a striker should have.
I want Nigeria to get thier act together because we have much promise but that doesn't change the reality. so until they do let our players play at the highest level which is in europe

I believe wholeheartedly that with regular game time and goals this boy can fight for a starting position, he definitely is better than nwakeme and Aaron Samuel. Iheanacho should stay at Leicester City and keeps honing his Skills under Puel. He shouldn't be deceived into moving to a lower League, cos that ain't gonna be a good Decision for him and his Career.
Very good point, sometimes we need to stand and fight instead of running, that's what make champions.
Be it fleetwood or oxford fc, he showed his class. Wasent slimani the striker who hit 30 goals in sporting in that same match?
Puel said he would change into his philosophy slowly, he's showing signs of that, his only problem his he doesent rotate players enough, which affect player mentally who are bench warmers. Puel he has improved Ndidi greatly attacking wise and I can see improvements in nacho game, it's almost like people are blind they don't see his increased workrate, agility and flexibility, instead they prefer to ignore that. Puel also developed world class talents like eden hazard & and a few others.
Thank God he's coming out of his shell, slowly infusing his attacking football, lieseter have too much attacking talent to be playing a boring predictable system.
Nacho haters, I hardly argue with you guys because the boy always put you guys to shame, you can hate from today till tommorow but the boy is a special talent and would always prove you wrong, why? Because he has an incredible mental strength, something a lot of critics fail to notice. That is what makes champions, form is temporary class is permanent.

This one no be NFF fault my broda,no blame NFF,the guy no reason naija,if na u b the guy na switzerland you go play for,na players wey no fit make european team dey choose naija,if leon balogun fit make german team him no go reason naija,so no b the guy fault
I disagree with your point which is that SE is a better footballing country with more international achievements, what has Switzerland done? They just have a good crop of youngsters coming up but they still do not have the potential our young team has.
Balogun, iwobi nd co we can understand if they would go for thier country of birth because they are football powerhorses us but this guy said point blank on an interview that he was open to playing for Nigeria go check it out. If Nigeria came first bro trust me he would gladly want to be part of this new generation, but we didn't and how could he say not to the country who gave him a good football education and environment.
