The President deemed it fit for him to be promoted for reasons best known to him alone. He is the C-in-C so no matter the public outcry, the promotion will stand whether right or wrong. wirinet: Are you aware he was promoted twice in one year? He was promoted to Colonel in January, and to Brigadier in December. This had never happened in Nigeria's history. |
Politics › Re: Controversy As Tinubu’s ADC, Nurudeen Yusuf, Is Promoted Twice In One Year by loppy87: 9:29am On Dec 15, 2025 |
I agree that it is unfair from a human angle. However, once this promotion scales through, he cannot be demoted by any means. His career progression cannot be altered in any way, except if he is denied promotion to the rank of Major General in 3 attempts. Truth is if Tinubu wins 2027 election, Brig Gen Yusuf will be due for the rank of Major General by November 2029. wirinet: It's unfair not only to his course mates but the military as whole. What happens if President Tinubu loses the election next year? The new commander in chief demotes Brigadier Yusuf? OK, what about in 2031, can a new president demote or even retire Brigadier Yusuf? |
Politics › Re: Controversy As Tinubu’s ADC, Nurudeen Yusuf, Is Promoted Twice In One Year by loppy87: 8:58am On Dec 15, 2025 |
Well, the truth is that this elevation of Col Yusuf to the rank of a One-Star General is unfair to his course mates and is not in alignment with the new Harmonised Terms and Conditions of Service (HTACOS 2024) which was recently endorsed by President Tinubu. And it is correct that Col Yusuf ought to proceed on his last senior course before being considered for promotion as Brig Gen, the ADC was either meant to attend NDC, Abuja, NIPSS in Jos or go for a foreign course. The practice is that the officers have accumulated scores which are usually put forward to the Army Promotion Council for consideration as a Brig Gen. However, Col Yusuf is a Regular Officer that graduated from NDA and was granted a Presidential Commission upon his graduation as a Second Lieutenant. This Presidential Commission granted to Regular Officers honestly gives the President the powers to grant waivers for promotion which is rarely done but cannot be contested if done. Remember Mr President is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. His orders are perceived as right in this instance. Congratulations to the ADC who in the next 4 years will be qualified to gain promotion to the rank of Major General, as he is already 3 years ahead of his course mates. |
Travel › Re: Relocation From Abuja To Jos City by loppy87: 11:06am On May 04, 2021 |
I feel it is a right decision to move to Jos with your family. I stayed in Jos for 9 years before I moved to Abuja with my family because of work. I lived in Rayfield for 4 years and I assure you will get a standard two bedroom in some areas in Rayfield with good light and security for 350 to 400k. Your kids will also have access to good schools at affordable costs. An average Rayfield resident in Jos will struggle here in Abuja, life is tough here I must confess but man must not relent. If you need contacts of house agents and any other info, feel free to reach out. Besides, even if your transfer request is not granted, coming to jos for weekends is not a bad idea. But kindly consider the security risks of travelling frequently through Abuja to Jos. God will help you. xristos: I have done my findings I just but ofcourse no one has the monopoly of knowledge..kindly share your thoughts.
lived all my.life in lagos till.2014.Abuja since then...but thinking about Jos. I'm 36, IT professional n married with 2 kids...wife not really working. i currently work in an ingo that also gas field offices includin Jos...but my salary isnt that interesting to make me that comfortable in abuja considering the bills on my neck. we stay in a 1BR apartment in one of the villages (chika precisely) in abuja and pays abt 370 yearly.
ive visited Jos more than 5 times and i keep loving it more in each visit...Rayfield and surroundings to be precise...calm, weather friendly, fresh n affordable food, my salary wud get me a comfortable 2BR flat... navigation to/from abuja is jst 4hrs..so i feel i can apply for a relocation to our field office in jos..or at worst work from abuja and travel weekends.
i dont intend living anywhere outside Jos south/Rayfield environs
as a family man...i find it most suitable to relocate there..most esp for the sanity n good environment for my children's growth -stressfree of going to school in abuja, the hot sun, bad electricity, havin to wake up to fan my.kids at night (ofcos i have Generator)..i stay in a noisy compound that dosnt befit me..many fake foods n fruits in abuja, ..i wonder if its the same Nigeria...but Jos looks like a greener pasture for me. waduyu think?? |

My brother, for now, na God and CG get final nod. I go disappear from the thread boss. I am a FG employee, though have passion for Customs, age no gree us qualify...lol. The next board meeting will be majorly to confirm the appointment of DCG HRD and DCG TRADOC, as well as other Acting ACGs. The info we are looking for is known to the CG and his PSO, but the last two months of 2020 is not so visible. Please do not lose hope, the political bigwigs have attempted but could not amass the entire slots for the HND/BSC cadre. Without connection, the job still sure for a high number of candidates. Best Wishes. oshionelecky: boss do you have any insider info?
I have noticed your input is always legit.
Also, u once said that you are not an ncs applicant, I am wondering how come u hv bn following us on the thread. Abi u b spy ni? just joking.

Hi guys, let's calm down please. No need for the threats and fights, we are here to help one another. I have been observant for a long while. As to the issue of covid-19, it was truly the gist pushed by the PRO but that is not a factor delaying the next stage of the recruitment. Even officers don't compulsorily wear face masks at the HQ of recent. On the issue of funding, it is not a matter of the NCS being financially buoyant although that is an obvious fact. Truth is, the financial implications for the recruitment which generated some political issues was approved and disbursed to the Consultant long before now. As things stand now, decision to call for the next stage lies strictly with the CG, even very senior officers are not sure of when it will happen. This is not entirely a board issue. Communication has been between the Presidency and the CG, a lot of political drama have characterized the progress of the exercise, but it will definitely be seen to completion. Best Wishes. |

@emmieachichi is a little but not entirely right. Support staff in the NCS are junior personnel who do not perform operational roles. They perform assigned duties, most of their roles and activities are based on directives. Some support staff however function in sensitive departments like Accounts, Medicals etc. And from what I heard, support staff do get posted to all commands including border posts. They sometimes serve as domestic aides to the senior officers from the rank of Ara Controller and above. It also appears they are limited in terms of ranking, seems they don't rise beyond level 13 or so. @Jumoke support staff in the NCS are permanent staff, and the news about them been maltreated depends on the nature of the superior officers they function under. I know support staff who made it in the Service because they are in good hands in terms of superiors. |

Very false statement, the FIRS for instance generates more funds for the FGN in recent times. Also, NNPC and FIRS are other highly competitive institutions in terms of jobs. Although a private firm is in charge of the recruitment, the modus operandi to be employed to drive the recruitment is determined by the NCS board and management, with final vetting from the CGC. You mentioned interior ministry means you didn't know Customs is under the Ministry of Finance. And very few House of Reps and Senators have slots as they share slots across all MDAs of the FGN. If you are well informed about this recruitment, you will know there is a number of slots reserved for merit. Let's not post things out here because we want to talk please. No insult. And you are sounding like you are advertising slots for patronage. Best wishes. talktokayoo: The fact is that Nigerian custom is the most competitive force to join, because it is the only force in Nigeria that generates funds and they generate over 1 trillion Naira yearly for the Nigerian government. Recruitment has always been based on slot and placement. For the superintendent corps it is more competitive so you will need to have someone at the top, and he or she must be well connected at the federal level: your connection must be from the below
Governors Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Jagaban A senator A house of Representative member A high officer at the ministry of interior A connection from The Federal Executive Council (FEC) can be proved useful too... Armed force chiefs, Police IG, Customs CG, Customs DCG, Army, Navy and Airforce chiefs
And it most likely they have close friends or children, so press these link if you have any.....
Don't just deceive yourself that it won't be based connection and that it will be on merit basis... Hurry up before all slot is complete so you can have a chance....
He who have ears let him hear well and he that is doubting Thomas please come back when the recruitment is complete and call me a liar |

Its simply so as to cover dere tracks and y'all will be foolish if u dont tink dat the scores of d test will be updated 4 some candidates with connections. We should just be real and prayerful. This is nigeria, just wen u tink u get connection den u realise dat some people dey wey get connection pass ur own. I still pray and fast everyday about it. However, even with dat, dere are some slots that will be available for the masses to occupy. So we should all read and pray fortune favour us. And finally for dos dat might be wondering if i can ask my source 4 the day shortlist will be out, im sorry i cant because dis is a man i can only call to greet, no questions ask. Oga, I need you to clarify, is that your friend an Assistant Controller or Assistant Comptroller General of Customs. We shouldn't lay out some things as facts when they are not in my opinion. Because as an ACG, you are financially buoyant and good to go even if retirement comes unexpectedly. Except the senior officer was not financially disciplined. It doesn't make sense mentioning the ranks I have contact with openly, but forget it, if you manage to get to the rank of an Area Controller, you no get money wahala. Even if you are a rich junior officer, you make more money as you progress in the service. And yes, ACGs were not given assured BSC slots, as there are more than 20 ACGs in the Service. yanabasee: Oga, there's NO force/paramilitary that get it's promotion that easily..... Police that their promotion is even more difficult??
I'm working at a plaza very close to FCC HQ, FRSC HQ, FCSC HQ and CUSTOM HQ at wuse here.... I see them everyday and I relate with a few of them everyday.....
Take it or leave, some low rank officers are richer and well connected to most officers with three stars..... They're the ones making cool cash for the ogas dem!!

You both have some level of accurate info, I agree with Ugo on one thing, there will be a high level of credibility with this recruitment. The CG is a man of integrity, even the DCGs thread carefully around him, If you know any management staff you can ask. One fact remains that if you meet all the requirements of the recruitment, you will certainly be shortlisted for the next stage. And the final list will be spread across all the LGAs of the nation. There is a political list already that one I know, the competition among the politicians and godfathers is also very tight, some of them are been diverted to slots from other institutions. If God wants you to get this job and you perform well during the aptitude or interview, you will surely get it. Lastly, a certain number of slots have be allotted based on merit. So, the intelligent and experienced professionals destined to get the NCS job will surely get it. Even if you don't know anyone in government, your brilliance and performance can get you this job. BOJO123: Forget that Mr integrity stuff...he is the CG doesn't mean a damn thing.. In every recruitment no matter what...there's always room for Merit. And hope you know there are people who wuld meet all the requirements plus extra self but won't be shortlisted? |

All I will say is that your source is 70% genuine, the anchor person of this recruitment is determined to ensure that overall, every LGA in this country gets at least two successful candidates. Your source told you three, so it is close to it. And you corroborated my info about those that applied wrongly, even if you have a slot, it will be passed to another. Shikena, for those throwing insults, am not even an applicant. Just passing info I have access to, not also discouraging anyone. Stay hopeful and prayerful please. God pass us all!!! Jafsent30: Sorry I don't talk much but this caught my attention According to my source it'll be 3 people per LGA to be choosen after final selection not Shortlisted for screening and the remaining 800+will be given as slot also some LGA will not have candidates like someone who studied Math applied he will be dropped and his slot will automatically be transferred to other LGA that's what like 3 people told me It's not like i have a slot or something but hopefully they'll help me pass the screening as they promised |
