Why is this Op like this?. Why is he misinforming people?, why are Africans gullible?just why?Why don't we question things ... I've nothing against religion , but I hate it when people misinform people. You see something you cannot explain, you then say it must be God willing to punish people, you see a woman give birth to twins you do not understand how, you say they must be evil ... and then you kill (thank goodness this have been stopped decades ago). Why are we too lazy to do the hardwork, and try to explain things around us?. I am so sad. People are in the lab working day and night trying to explain phenomena, while we are in the comfort of our bed telling people that we have been ordained by a celestial entity we call God, who has revealed to us what everything is,and if you do not believe, you will go to hell; is that not the height of arrogance?. Let's assume this was the way this celestial entity God operates(that is choosing a random lazy person to be his spokes man) would you want to be with this unfair God?...

The hardworking ones are really aware that there is a lot not still known, and they are working tirelessly in labs, trying to understand several things that will make the society much more pleasant to live in for generations yet unborn. They are doing a damn good job!!.

Ok, let me explain, the reason for this is division by 0 error. When you divide by 0 you can almost get away with anything.

For example I can prove that 3=5; how? well

3*0=5*0, if you cancel out the zeros then you have 3=5. argha!!, some smart people here will call me out for this, saying 'but that is blatantly inaccurate', it is conspicuously clear that you cannot divide through by zeros, else any two numbers chosen arbitrarily can be equal to each other(7=9,10=15...etc). Infact it can be proved;
Consider m=12 and n=12. let x,y be any two different numbers,

m(x-y)=n(x-y)=> mx-my=nx-ny=> mx-nx=my-ny-> x(m-n)=y(m-n)=> x=y(so any two different numbers can be equal). can you spot the error? ... yea the error came from dividing by m-n=0. Anything you do in algebra always watch out for dividing by 0 error(whether clearly or hidden in the form of algebra like m-n in our case or x-x or y-y ... etc).

Yes, Mars comes this close very rarely.... the last time it came this close was in 2003. It is in perehelic opposition with the sun (that is Mars and the sun are in opposite sides of the sky from earth's point of view when Mars is closest to the sun in its orbit). It will drift the closest to earth on July 31;so get your camera ready to capture the red planet (a.k.a Mars) to see its real beauty. For who knows, one day in our lifetime we just may visit Mars.

Kerr, please don't rush Curry. Or at least, limit his minutes extensively...

I really see no point playing him in game 2.
With what I saw perhaps they should let him rest and fully recover... or bring him for just few minutes to destroy the confidence of the pelicans grin

i love all the he is a beast. Energy. Etc

But if you are getting knocked out of the playoffs by Ricky Rubio and a rookie, maybe he should forget energy, and use common sense.

Kyrie, curry, Lillard are better shooters, they won’t even take 40+ shots in the playoffs when they are the main stars not to talk of when they have two other all stars
Yea but i will argue that the other two stars had an embarrassingly low field goal percentage, hence you cannot blame Westbrook for the loss you should give him credit. When Paul George showed up the previous game, OKC came from a 25points deficit to win the game. This time, PG(5points , played 45mins, FG 12.5%) and Melo (7points) combing for 12 points while Westbrook (46 points, played 44 mins, FG 42.9%) had 46points.

Give the man his credit!!

Lol.

It’s just going to be a difficult game for Rondo, chasing curry and having to run the point again?

I would have said put jrue on curry so Rondo doesn’t get tired quickly, but then someone has to stay on allay Thompson.

The difference maker here for me is Anthony Davis.
Yes I agree with your analysis, that is why I believe the Warriors needs Curry to beat the Pelicans. The pelicans who swept the blazers are ready to go to war. Infact I think Anthony Davis is the best player in the NBA now. Let's say he locks Kevin Durant, Jrue Holiday locks Klay Thompson (as he did Damian Lillard while still being productive offensively), Rondo against Curry. This will really be an interesting game... whoever wins depends on the productivity of Rondo or Curry.

While I think Westbrook pretty much shot his team out of the game for those 43 shots. It would be rather irresponsible to not blame Paul George as well who had more turnovers than points in an elimination game. Westbrook gonna Westbrook but it's not like Paul George has a legit defense

Surely Westbrook cannot be the reason Playoff P was 2/16 with 6 Turnovers.
I totally agree with you. People should let Westbrook be Westbrook that is the only way he can play. I agree he does not have the highest basketball IQ out there or he may be inefficient, but one thing you cannot deny about him, is the intensity, aggression and ferocity he brings to the court. The guy is a beast!! He consistently expend very high energy on every single game. His conditioning is impeccable. Very few players are at his level. Camelo Anthony and Paul George had bad games hence that is why they lost.

Unfortunately it's the end of the road for them. There's no way pacers is taking a series from LeBron. Adam Silver is still alive
I am a Cavs fan, but brother the way the Cavs are playing makes me really sad....I will not be surprised if the Pacers pull off a win in Cleveland in game 7. Kevin Love is a shadow of himself, JR smith is very inconsistent as well as Kyle Kover, Clarkson and Nance Jr are very inexperienced... and Oladipo is in top form.

The table is in Mod 6

Explanation.. after the multiplication, if your answer is 6 or multiple of 6, it will tend to ZERO.
I.e 2 × 3 = 0
4 × 3 = 0
6 × 6 = 0 etc.

Now, if you have, 2 × 4 = 8 = 6 + 2
since, 6 and multiples of 6 equate 0, therefore,
2 × 4 = 8 = 6 + 2 = 0 + 2 = 2

another illustration is 3 × 5 = 15 = 12 + 3 = 0 + 3 = 3
Question 32 should be E. Otherwise what you have written is correct.

My question is , is there any way around this letter. Could he provide any other document to suffice for this said letter ? Perhaps like his appointment letter , etc. I will appreciate your response. I am so convinced he really doesn't want to go back when I spoke to him.

It's 2018 and y'all are still doing basic calculus and o'level mathematics.

When are y'all gonna step up to stuffs like Riemannian geometry, algebraic geometry, algebraic topology, elliptic curves etc?

You all bore me to be honest.
These are advanced courses in graduate school by some pure Mathematicians (key words some pure mathematicians). This means they are decent pure mathematicians whose area of research interests is different from the aforementioned interests; examples are number theorists, functional analysts , etc. Now these excludes applied mathematicians. Mathematics is very broad, and since we have limited life time, it is almost impossible for one to be knowledgeable or proficient in all areas (well apart from David Hilbert and Leonhard Euler- Mathematics was not as broad then as it is now).

If you are really interested in these areas (which I extremely doubt- no curious mind will want to punch down on harmless and useful nairalanders ) you can visit forums like Mathematics StackExchange, MathOverflow and Quora, rather than diving into a thread and harassing people who have taking the pain to squeeze out time from their tight schedule to provide answers painstakingly to problems (even if mundane as you claim).

It is as easy to write out topics in mathematics which one is clueless about as it is to post in a Nairaland mathematics thread about being a genius in these topics just to feel deceptively good about yourself.

The cliche which says 'before you run you must first learn how to walk' comes to mind.

Please help me out with these questions

Lordbeans

A function is a relation between an input set and output set such that for any input there is assigned to it exactly one output.

What this means is that for a relation say y=f(x)=x+1, an input say 1 assigns an output number to it; in this case f(1)=2. Also f(x)= x^2 is a function because f(1)=1 and f(-1)=1; this is a function (even if different input gives the same output) as long as the output is exactly one. Now a relation that is not a function is f(x)=sqrt(x), because f(4)= +2 or -2; so it assigns two outputs to one input - this is not a function.

In your question y^2=x is not a function because of the aforementioned reason: it assigns two outputs to an input. I have attached the requested plot.

As for question 2, tables (a) and (c) are functions while table (b) is not a function because of the reasons above.

Question (3) is straightforward, so I will let you do that yourself.

De Moivres theory states that for any complex number z and integer n

z=(r(cos(theta)+ i sin (theta)))^n= r^n(cos(n*theta)+ i sin (n*theta)).

converting z= 1 + i sqrt(3) to polar form, you find r= sqrt(1^2+(sqrt(3))^2)= sqrt(1+3)=2.

and theta= arctan(sqrt(3))=60 or pi/3;

using De Moivres theory

2^8(-1/2+i sqrt(3)/2)= 2^7[-1 + i sqrt (3)].

so the answer is 2^7[-1 + i sqrt (3)]..

Hi,

If your profession is regulated, that means you need to get a professional licence before you practice in Canada then I'll advice you to be patient and assess both of your degrees. Also, if you desire to advance your studies in Canada, then this is another reason why you should assess both of your degrees. This is because WES can permanently store your verified transcripts and certificates in their data base and post it to any institution of your choice when you are ready to use them (saves future stress and cost).

However, if you the think securing your PR quickly is more important and you wouldn't need a professional licence or further studies, then you can withdraw your lower degree from being assessed. As doing this will not affect your PR application.

All the best.
Thank you. . I think I will withdraw my B.Sc application.

I logged on to Nairaland and my eye caught your comment. This is the similar situation with my hubby. I told him to only evaluate his Msc, Dude went to do both. His second degree is from Ghana while the first is from Nigeria. Because of the issues that has to do with transcript application, the delays and all, He realized it was a mistake registering for both. So he only paid for the Msc and WES acknowledged and all was fine with that, however they need his Btech because that has been showing on his profile.

What did he do?

He simply sent a mail to WES not to wait for Btech and they should only focus on his MSC. Before this time, we had called and called with nobody picking the call.

Fortunately, somebody saw the email and responded.

They removed the BTECH and he did not have to bother with verifying his BTECH.

To answer your question, send a mail to WES via the contact me option. Tell them to only focus on Msc been your highest degree and not wait for the other one.

At this stage, you must have gone ahead to send only your MSC certificates to WES and they should have received it.

They would respond to you and remove the BTECH degree from your profile. They did for my hubby and now his verification is completed.

To add, just like you, my first and second degrees are from Nigeria and UK respectively. With my hubby's mistake, I did not even bother verifying BTECH. I did MSC straight and I have been sorted.

In summary,

Go ahead to verify only your MSC.
When WES has received your MSC document,
Send a mail.
Attach your reference number.
Tell them your plight.
Request them not to wait for your BSC because your MSC is your highest qualification.
That's all.

Remember that, you are paying for a service but you say you do not want the service anymore. WES has to remove it. That's no problem with them. I hope this helps you. Please feel free to contact me here omobyadex@yahoo.com if you need further help.

Perhaps we had this problem just because we needed to help somebody out of it: You! All the best.
Thank you so much. Gratias
