I have a similar experience 8 years ago, actually I didn't follow them to their place of terror but let me tell u how I escape briefly.

*in 2010 a day before salah festival, I boarded a bus going to oshodi from papalanto in ogun state where I went to pay a visit to my grandmother,during this time, Transport Fare was a little bit expensive and scarce because its festive period, but luckily I got a bus which is even 50 naira better,as I entered it, I met some people there, although I wanted to sit in front beside the driver because there is one woman there and the second passenger seat was empty but I decide to go to back seat unfortunately I sat on a seat at the mouth of the bus door, behind me was a man that lap a little boy and another man beside me who suppose to be a relative to the man behind me because they later started communicating, I notice that it was a 3 people on each long seat because there is no conductor, and there was a nice cotton clothes covered each windows, but we keep going,as we are moving I notice that the woman who sat in front with the driver was discussing with driver while the second passenger seat was empty and later the woman was calling someone on phone telling the person on a phone conversation In yoruba language that she has only seven chickens and one chick,after hanging the phone, she keeps discussing with driver as if they have known each other for a very long time, another man who sat on a normal sit behind driver was very dark, he wore a native cloth, he was a little bit fat and have 6 tribal marks on each cheek started calling someone how far we are in yoruba language,then he mentioned chicken as well,this is when I diverted my attention to my phone. there was a traffic everywhere now, so when we near sango, driver decide to take another place which is an alternative for other buses, as we are approaching toll gate through another route, the man behind me just touched me and whispered in yoruba in a low voice that he's going down with his brother who sat beside me that I will have to excuse him because my chair has to be fold before he can come down, I was suspicious with the way he whisper to me that he will soon come down, so I asked him if he's not going to oshodi, thats when he told me that we have boarded ritualists bus, which he told me in yoruba as "motor awon alajaale", on hearing this, I was shocked, but I still don't believe, nobody noticed our conversation because driver was playing music and still discussing with the woman in a loud voice, and I told the man that I don't believe him,then he shifted his attention to his brother who is beside me and I notice that his brother replied in yoruba as "o'ti ye'mi" (I understand), both of them decide to get down from the bus, immediately the man behind me told the driver to stop that someone wanted to pick them from here,this is when the driver started shouting, so the man behind me shouted at me that I should stand up and fold my chair for him to get down, this time I was more furious and scared, then I decide to get down with them,although driver don't want to stop but its not possible for him to zoom off because there still a little bit traffic everywhere, he eventually stop when the argument ensued between him and the man behind me, we only paid 200 naira 3 of us each instead of initial 300 naira,when we get down,I noticed that the man with tribal mark focus on me and he looked angrily and his eyes was red, immediately they zoom off because the traffic limit their speed, the man in tribal mark keep looking at us from the window this is when I got more confused and scared, then the man who is behind me in the bus said "look at that one,he's one of them" and he said "ewoo ni"(it's abomination) "won Ki n'fi omo ire bo ire" (sorry can't explain this in English), We waited somewhere until they moved far awayfrom us, this is when the man and his brother started explaining things to me as we are looking for another bus that he's a babalawo(herbalist) from ilaro in ogun state,he said he has a body signal immediately he step into the bus, and when the woman beside the driver keeps talking about chicken, he said we are that chicken she's talking about and the chick she mentioned is the little boy he was holding in his hands, this is when I remembered the woman conversation over the phone. At that moment, you can not think of doing anything to rescue others, I was even in state of confusion throughout that day,so I thanked that man and his brother and we discussed more on our way to oshodi and we exchanged numbers.

Please don't see all this ritualists as an exaggeration or propaganda, its true but I just don't like the way people attach everything to religion, some will even say jesus appear to them physically to rescue them,Some people do this In order to get more attention in their church and to get monetary benefits from people and this one was saying his phone ringing tone cause misunderstandings between them, instead of him to count himself lucky, many uncountable loyal religious people have died through this, so nothing make you special, just count yourself lucky, many people have escaped death or cheat death..
