Ugom38: the falcon can't hear the falconerNot to derail and no disrespect to chinua but the above poem was written by the Irish poet- W. B Yeats. Chinua only used it to start 'Things Fall Apart' because of its relevance and as a tribute. |
For me, the tragedy about the anambra elections has been the new low it has become in plainly blind and dumb ethnic baiting...& whatever little respect I had for Jonathan just went down the toilet. I still can't believe he was at the Onitsha campaign when all these ridiculous statements were being made. Just a disaster in true leadership he has become. If there's one thing I have learnt from 2011, it's that a leader who comes to office dividing the people will omly further divide the nation when he gets into office And by the way, I do not care who wins in Anambra because frankly, it's just none of my business. It doesn't affect my life in anyway. It is the people of the state who know what their challenges are and who will primarily face whatever is the outcome of their decision they make in this election. I am sick of all this tbh |
delegiwa: The rate at which topics degenerate to tribal wars on Nairaland is alarming. Look at a good topic on Ken Saro Wiwa - a man seen a martyr by his people and for very good reasons too! |
Tranquill: Please can any one suggest to me what could be done in this scenerio. Many thanks.Guess it's best you guys contact ey themselves at: recruitmnent@ng.ey.com All the best |

What Will Happen at Old Trafford... Come Monday, at 20:00 GMT on the 26th of August, the fabled theatre of dreams will be where English heavyweights; league champions, United will trade tackles with rivals, Chelsea. As has become our tradition here at GameOnAfrica.com, we pick a wildly anticipated match like this, do our 'Game On' prognosis on it to predict the score to prove to football betting guys out there like you that our 'Game On' E-Course is the authentic real deal for anyone who really wants to get serious making significant income from the murky world of football betting. We do all this all offering a 100% ironclad warranty to absolutely anyone out there who buys our course based on the prediction we have made if the prediction turns out not to be so.Previous examples of previous successful predictions based on this model can be instantly viewed on our site at GameOnAfrica.com. Our highly reliable model of successfuly predicting matches to bet on is based on the complete factoring of all the relevant factors that determine how a football match will swing. To understand how we were able to arrive at our score prediction we put forward to you, we give you a tip of the thought process from the Game On E-Course on this blockbuster tie... I. Understanding the teams Before making any predictions on matches involving any two teams, the first thing to do is to make the effort to understand the teams-how they shape up, what formation they deploy, their biggest strengths and weaknesses in each aspect of the game. I.I Attacking Strength: Manchester United have what Chelsea desperately need. A dependable world-class striker in Robin Van Persie. As long as they can keep him fit, you can be assured he will nick in the goals as he already plundered two against Wigan and Swansea. So long as United can keep him fit, he will definitely be on the shortlist for the league golden boot come May 2014. However, what United lack is the glut of young, terrific creative midfield talents to back up the Dutch. Chelsea has this in embarrassment with the 3 amigos{Oscar, Hazard and Mata} being complemented by Andre Schurrle, Kevin de Bruyne and of course our own Victor Moses. With the irresistible talent of Willian set to be added, Jose is incredibly spoilt for choice in this department This glut of creative attacking wealth guaranty that even with floundering strikers like Torres and Demba Ba, Chelsea can and will score. Indeed, as a testament to how the attacking young guns have goals in them, despite Demba Ba scoring only one league goal since January, along with his fellow flop Torres, Chelsea still managed a creditable third-place finish under Rafa. It will be interesting to see if Jose picks the Belgian starlet, Romelu Lukaku ahead of the two disappointing more matured strikers. As a side note, it is my hope that if the Portuguese can't get a world-class striker in before September 2, he thinks about converting Victor Moses to a striker. While his composure in front of goal can be poor, you get a sense that with the right managing, he could become really useful in that position. So, both teams have the potential to score at the theatre of dreams. I.II Defensive Vulnerability: Both teams have top-class goal-tenders in Cech and De Gea. While both, like most goalkeepers, are prone to the odd howlers, you can be rest assured the keepers would put in their shifts. Now to the more mobile defensive unit of the central defence, full-backs and the defensive midfielders. Moyes will be tempted to start with the experience of Vidic and Ferdinand in central defence, flanked by the ageing Evra and the susceptible Rafael with the likes of Cleverley, Jones and Carrick expected to provide shield from the middle. Jose, on the other hand, from his body language will probably opt for Chelsea's best central defence pairing, in my opinion, of Luiz and Cahill if fit, winged by Ivanovic and Ashley Cole. The young, increasingly impressive Marco Van Ginkel, Ramires or Michael Essien look set to be called upon for midfield cover. Both teams defenses clearly have their strengths but if you ask a neutral observer which defensive option he will prefer, he will most likely plump for Jose's side. Not only because Jose tends to create a tight defensive base for his teams, except for the odd instance at Real, but also throughout last season, you got the sense it was the aura of the now-retired Scottish knight, Ol' Fergie, that served as the inspirational basis for the team to punch above its weight all through. Moyes is simply no Fergie. Get used to hearing that this season I.III Contest Location: It gets no bigger than Old Trafford. With a capacity close to 80,000, you can be rest assured the United fans will make their voices heard loud and clear with stinging barbs in songs and poems, thrown in the direction of Jose Mourinho with suggestions he got overlooked for Fergie's seat. But the man and his team will not flinch. Even without Jose, Chelsea still managed to sneak a 1-0 league victory at Old Trafford last season with United having earlier set things rolling via a 3-2 romp at the Bridge in the first half of the league. So, these are the most familiar of foes coupled with Jose's ability to psyche his players up for the big occasion. The impact of the venue will be limited. While the fans will try to rouse Moyes and his boys, it would not have a decisive effect as it might have against less familiar foes. A power demonstrated by how United, backed by their fans, almost conveniently dumped Jose's Madrid out of the Champions League last season, before the very controversial Nani red card that turned the tie on its head II. Forecasting a Match: After analysing and understanding both teams we move on to the business end of successfully predicting matches for money-spinning bets. II.I Fitness Level: Coming off the start of the season, both teams should be in sharp conditions. Of course, there will be the usual one or two odd recovering injuries to deal with but we should expect to see very fit teams on display. I am usually happy to see top-notch encounters at the beginning of the season because it typically guarantees a good show. Also, in terms of competitive matches whatever advantage United have in playing the decently competitive Charity Shield match against Wigan followed by Swansea would have been cancelled out as Chelsea would have played an extra league match against Aston Villa in mid-week to compensate for their European Super Cup date with Pep's Bayern on the 30th of August. Little digression; Pencil that date in your diary guys, you do not want to miss the resumption of the battle of supremacy between those two guys. And be rest assured we will be doing our prediction for this match this week. No leaving you hanging on your bets pal. Also, the Old Trafford match coming up on Monday rather than on the weekend guarantees that whatever exertions Chelsea have from playing Lambert's Villa in mid-week would have been reasonably overcome II.II Ranking: Obviously, United come into this match as league defending champions. That can simply not be waved away. This team comfortably romped to the league title last season and if not for the odd points dropped towards the end of the season would have equalled the points haul record set by Jose's team in his first stint at the Bridge. Chelsea on the other hand had an unarguably chequered season last year. Coming on the heels of their champions league triumph, their good league challenge had started to falter by October and they were out of the Champions League at the first hurdle. Abramovich, ever willing to fix things, promptly dismissed Di Matteo in Novemver, despite his only having won the holy grail the previous May. Credit to the Chelsea heirachy though, sensible pragmatism prevailed in appointing Rafa on an interim basis and despite an initial slump that even saw the side slipping out of a top-four spot at a time, the team rallied and ended the season with an Europa league title and a much coveted third-place finish. II.III Rating: But as we say at GameOnAfrica.com, whatever a team's ranking is it must be viewed through the lens of the team's rating which is the performance of the team over the most recent 3, 5 or 10 matches. Usually, we recommend looking at the 5 most recent matches but as this is coming off the league commencement, considering the 10 most recent matches. And you might want to look away here United folks but the stats do not look pretty here. 7 pre-season friendly matches against many 'anonymous' teams and the record stands at 3 defeats, 2 draws and 2 victories over minnows. Even depleted Sevilla had their fill of 3 goals at the Theatre during Rio's testimonial. Credit to David and the boys though, they rallied to defeat Wigan at Wembley in the Community Shield. But even the manner of the victory raised questions. United were belaboured in victory against a Wigan team shorn of the critical components that had won it the FA cups three months before had Wembley. Following the Lactics' relegation, their manager had jumped at the opportunity to take Moyes's seat at Everton and the team had been plundered of its best talents by all comers. Yet, United struggled and even the manner of the goals spoke volumes even though credit must go the goal-scoring instincts of the inimitable RVP. One was an unpicked header from afar and the other a wicked deflection. Against Wigan no less, or rather no more. Against Swansea though, they were unforgivingly incisive with doubles from RVP and Wellbeck. Swansea though did not really put up a sufficient challenge. Chelsea on the other hand have started the Jose 2.0 era in rude health. Save for the odd-loss against Carlo's Madrid team, which only confirmed the blues are a world-class signing or two from challenging in Europe, they not only earned credible wins against minnow in South-East Asia but they also defeated the two Milan giants in the US before handing Roma a defeat in Rome too. All with a team still gelling. Of course, some argue that a pre-season does not always foretell how a team's pre-season will go and I say it depends on the peculiar situation and I will explain. If a team has peaked already, as in the case of United last season, with the right sort of experience and youth balance, and then goes on to have a torrid season like United have, then there is a cause for worry. Meanwhile, for a team under construction like Chelsea to have a decent pre-season suggests the team could do big things. And Chelsea's subsequent consecutive league wins against Hull and Villa, even if belaboured, suggest they mean business. II.IV Coach's Strategies/Abilities: Consider Moyes’ record away at United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal—the erstwhile top four of the Premier League—played 45, won 0, drawn 18 and lost 27—a meager total of 18 points gained from a possible 135. And against Jose, it gets no better. 6 matches played- 0 wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats. The picture the stats paint really is David is not a big-time coach no matter how you want to swing it. Beyond a solitary triumph in the third-tier of English football with Preston, David has no othe title to prove his tactical chops. Much has been made of his longevity at Everton and how with a limited budget he was able to put in credible performances season-in season out. Credible except he wasn't the only one with others given teams not even half as talented as David's team over the years yet managing to snag a trophy. If what United were looking for was a coach operating on a shoestring budget yet delivering results, David was not the man. Michael Laudrup with a much lesser budget, evidenced by his main stiker being the £2million Michu, not only won the Carling Cup the first time of asking but also finished in the top half of the table. Roberto Martinez did something even more spectacular with relegation-bound Wigan winning the FA Cup over then league champions-Manchester City. Or Steve Bruce's triumph with Birmingham over Arsenal in the Carling Cup with our own Obagoal's winning goal or Steve McClaren not only taking Middlesborough to the Carling Cup title in the 2000s but subsequently taking them to the following season's then Uefa Cup final with our own Yakubu. Moyes simply lasted at Everton because the Toffees are not the most ambitious of clubs, The sole run he had in the Champions League thanks to Rafa's first-season adaptation on the English shores, he crashed out woefully losing home and away to now City coach-Pellegrini's Villareal team. It was clear he just didn't belong in the big-league United though, like Liverpool are a traditional English team, and were always going to stick with that tradition in the immediate aftermath of Fergie's departure. And David's Glaswegian roots à la Fergie along with his long years at Everton has gotten the mantle. Good luck to the lad. United fans should expect no immediate fireworks though. He will need time to grow into the job. Even the greatest Fergie, despite landing at Old Trafford, on the back of a giant-killing run on the continent with Aberdeen, took 6 years to win his first trophy on the verge of a red rumoured sack. Whether David, arriving on the back of managing a team with mid-level budget for more than a decade decently, can be given time to hone his tactical nous at Old Trafford has to be the issue and if modern football will allow for such patience. Even Brendan Rodgers knows he only has this season to do something remarkable at Anfield before the knives come out. United giving Moyes a 6-year contract indicates the board appreciates the need for David to be afforded time but you also sense that the inclusion of fans' favourite, Ryan Giggs and the likes of Gary Neville, servss as a plan B in case the fans in modern football do not have the patience to allow Moyes grow into the job. So, having dissected the tactician in Moyes, this extensively, him pitting his wits against a Jose coming with an almost impeccable winning mentality imparted unto his players can only predict one outcome really. Coupled with Van Pesie's poor record against Jose's teams, there really is little room to chart for a United victory here. And our prediction over here at GameOnAfrica.com is: Manchester United 1 Chelsea FC 2 Our betting tips on the match are: Chelsea to win Van Persie to Score Final Score: United 1 Chelsea 2 United to have majority of possession Van Ginkel and Lukaku to play for Chelsea Zaha to play for United Up to 3 yellow cards to be shown That's all folks, By the way, please note that because of space constraints we have not been able to extensively discuss as with much detail the listed factors as well as the other relevant factors such as team depth, past ties between teams, the X-factor(s) and so on. However, all this factors were factored into our prediction. All this you can definitely get to know about in unmissable deatail though if you get the Game On E-Course through our site: GameOnAfrica.com

we said it though, this was our mail to our newsletter subscribers as at 8.00 yeaterday: Meanwhile, As we did to prove our credentials as Africa's premier football betting guide, we already called the UEFA Champions League... So, we gazed into our definitive 'crystal ball' or what is really our solidly applying the 'Game On' E-Course principles to the 5 remaining matches and this was what we said yesterday morning will happen: Semis: Bayern-Barca: For us, bayern will go through not only because they are a much-more balanced or hungrier team than Barca but ultimately because it is a team perfectly set up to exploit Barca's flaws. We've all seen how Madrid have gotten the number of Barca this season. Well, Bayern is of the same mould against Barca but a far more ruthless German machine Madrid-Dortmund: Much has been made of Dortmund earning 4 points against Madrid in the group stages but people forget the teams Borrusia faced in the last quarter of 2012 was a patched team having to deal with so many injuries. Real's only reliable defensive midfielder limped off after 20 minutes at the Iguna park and also missed the return fixture with a defensively suspect midfield duo of Modric-Alonso failing to hold Dortmund in the reverse fixture. Also, Dortmund is amazingly susceptible to high balls, a weakness Marid failed to exploit last year. They wouldn't be so forgiving this time. So, Madrid will go to Wembley for us. Yeah, Dortmund have had an amazing run this season but the Cinderella story will be over by the night of the 30th of April And we are so sure of our algorithm-based predictions,of course based on the 'Game On' E-Course, that we will refund 100% to anyone who buys the premier football betting guide on the continent- the amazing 'Game On' E-Course after these predictions if the predictions fail to come true. Because that is what we do and we are pretty damn good at it... End your football betting troubles now!
