President Buhari's daughter, Halima Buhari Sheriff was called to the bar yesterday while his son Yusuf and another daughter Zahra graduated from the University of Surrey, United Kingdom on July 12th. They have now celebrated together by hosting friends and family to a graduation dinner.

A woman was today crushed to death by a truck near a timber market in Nnewi, Anambra State.The woman believed to be waiting for the market to open for business as she got there early hours of the morning was crushed to death when a truck carrying timber, slipped off a dirt road and fell.

Unfortunately, the truck fell on her and she died instantly.


A witness at the scene however said the truck fell because of the terrible state of the road.

May Her soul rest in peace.

A former Chairman of the Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria, PMAN, Abuja chapter, Mr. Collins Adeyemi has died. It was learnt that Adeyemi who celebrated his 19th wedding anniversary three weeks ago died yesterday in Abuja.

Adeyemi was last seen at the 6th Edition of the prestigious African Achievers Awards, which took place July 8, 2016, at the International Conference Centre, ICC, Abuja.

May his soul rest in peace.

Three robbery suspects, who said they were returning from a vigil, but could not explain how they got in their possession two goats, properties of a restaurant owner, have been arrested in Amarata, a suburb of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.


According to the eyewitness, when the suspects were accosted by a resident,one of the suspects, holding a Bible in hand, claimed they were Christians returning from a church service, but they could not explain how they came about the goats in their possession.The resident raised the alarm and alerted a local vigilante group, who later arrested and handed them over to the police.

The owner of the goats has since collected her livestock from police custody.

Two men were arraigned today before Mrs AA Famobiwo of magistrate court 3, Surulere for assaulting an FRSC official. Nwandu Onyeka and Okechukwu Jackson were arraigned on three count charge ofconspiracy, assault and obstruction. Both pleaded not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of 50k and 2 sureties each.The case was adjourned to18 July 2016for mention.

Both accused were remanded in prison custody as they couldn't meet the bail conditions.

The former presidential aspirant who died in a UK Hospital on Wednesday, was laid to rest in Sokoto State today July 8th.


In attendance at his funeral were the Sultan of Sokoto, Alh Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, Emirs of Gwandu, Alh Muhammad Ilyasu Bashar and that of Argungu, Alh. Sama'ila Mera. Governors of Borno, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara States, Ministers of Justice, Abubakar Chika Malami, Aviation, Hadi Sirika, and that of Interior, General Abdulrahman Dambazau were also in attendance.

At the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) which took place earlier this year, veteran Actress, Bukky Ajayi who just passed on yesterday was honored. She was awarded alongside another veteran Actor, Sadiq Daba with The Life Time Achievement Award which she received with a grateful and overwhelming heart.


The audience at the AMVCA that night was moved to tears at the speech of Late Actress. Her speech was also followed with a standing ovation by almost everyone at the events.
