The Press Release reads: "Lagos state police command would like to inform the general public that none of it's personnel is in use of a Point-of-Sale machine otherwise known as a POS in any part of the state. .

This is with regards to the false video footage being circulated on the social media alleging a policeman attached to the Makinde Police station seen using a POS to extort a bike rider or the passenger on olowora street Mafoluku, Oshodi Lagos state on 20th of June 2017.

It has become necessary to make this clarification in view of the incorrect way in which the account of the incident in question was reported on various social media platforms which drew the attension of well meaning Lagosians. .
.
The command would like to state that the officer in the video is being investigated and the commercial bike rider has given a factual account of the event that happened to justify the actions of the police officer. .
.
The alleged officer and team on the 20th of June 2017 stopped a commercial bike rider and passenger who had a bag on him. The policeman enquired from the passenger about the content in the bag and he opened the bag. .
.
In it was a P O S machine and other documents, when asked why he had a POS in the bag he said his customers pay for their utility bills with the use of the POS machine. He was asked to produce a form of identification which he did and was asked to go by the policeman.

The command hereby reiterate to members of the public to verify information before use on social media to avoid indicting the Nigeria Police with reference to past and present video footage."

American boxer and retired world welterweight champion, Floyd Mayweather, 40, was expected to arrive Nigeria today for his first ever trip to Africa.

We can now confirm that the trip has been postponed indefinitely. during investigations revealed that the retired boxing champion choose only to fly to Nigeria in his private jet however he couldn't secure the necessary flight and route permits in time to make the trip.


Mayweather and Zinni media Group who solely organized the much anticipated African tour of the Retired boxer are yet to make an official statement.

Two suspected members of a kidnap gang in Kogi State have been arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Intelligence Response Team (IRT).Suleiman Isah (24) and Musa Mohammed (31), both natives of Ankpa, were arrested on May 29 at Ninth Mile, Enugu State, and Ayinba in Kogi. .They were said to be among the criminals who kidnapped an Islamic Scholar, Alhaji Jibrin Idris, on February 21.

The suspects allegedly confessed to be four in the gang, giving the names of others as Bashir and Mangal.


The police said efforts are on to arrest the two members at large.

56 year old pastor Ibukun Adeyinka of the Christ Apostolic Church, Sanctuary of Blessing, in the IjuIshaga area of Lagos State, was stabbed to death by some unknown persons at the church premises on May 30th. The deceased lived with his wife and children inside the church premises.


On the day of the incident, he was sleeping with his family when suddenly they heard a noise inside their apartment.


He woke up to find out what the sound was about but couldn't see well as there was power outage. Suddenly he started to shout Jesus as he stabbed him in the chest. The person who stabbed him then fled the house.

The pastor was rushed to a private hospital and then referred to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja where he passed on. Meanwhile the Lagos state police command has launched an investigation into the matter.


The attackers of the pastor did not steal any item from his house neither did they say anything afterthey stabbed him. For now, no one knows whether they were armed robbers nor assassins. His church members and friends have taken to social media to pay tribute to him.
