‘‘The Next Level is to consolidate whatever we have done till 2023 and it makes common sense that in order to manage any outfit, whether a nation, state or organisation, you have to secure it.
‘‘We all know how many local governments Boko Haram were occupying. People from the North-east know that they are not holding any local government today.
“They were holding 17 out of the 774 local governments before we came in 2015; they are not holding any now,’’ the President said.
At the interactive session, the Nigerian leader noted that a key objective of his administration which had yielded positive results, in the last four years, was the campaign for the nation to return to agriculture.
‘‘What we did was to encourage agriculture, and fertiliser was made available at half the price.
‘‘We encouraged people to go back to land. The response was excellent. We have virtually achieved food security; we have stopped the importation of rice.
‘‘The money we have saved in foreign exchange is in hundreds of millions of dollars, not even in naira. We are putting that into infrastructure,’’ he noted.
Responding to a question about the pace of anti-corruption war, the President said: ‘‘Whoever calls me Baba-go-slow, I’m very conscious of historical antecedents. You know what happened to me the last time…people [now] have to be proven guilty before they are locked up.’’
Buhari also reflected on the 2019 APC presidential campaign and the outcome of the polls, saying: ‘‘I was very impressed by the turn out of every state to see and hear me. The crowd is more than what you can buy or force to come. Nigerians voluntarily came out.’’

Also, egusi has a high level of calories and when garnished with few chunks of stock fish and two pieces of meat, it has a total of roughly 700 calories per serving. Imagine consuming it with about 3 wraps of eba which is about 600 calories.
Loaf of sliced bread:
Bread is widely consumed daily across the country especially because it doesn’t have to be cooked before consumption. Bread belongs to the class of starchy foods and overt consumption increases the risk of getting diabetes.

If you are taking in 100 grams of bread, you are consuming 265 calories, especially if it is white bread. Some Nigerian-made breads are also not completely bromate free. Potassium bromate is added to help strengthen the bread dough and this chemical is cancerous. If you can steer off bread, there are other excellent choices that are low in carbs.
One minute Noodles:
While noodles can’t be called a Nigerian food, it has been adopted into Nigeria’s stream of foods such that it is consumed by both young and old. Nigerians go for noodles because it is cheap, easy and fast to cook, hence the name “instant noodles.”


Tests have revealed that noodles contain high sodium which aside being cancerous, causes heart disease and skin damage. Eating too much of noodles is bad for digestion and it also leads to obesity.
Eba:
Processed from cassava, garri is a food rich in carbohydrate; both the yellow and the white type. Garri helps to restore lost energy but a high rate of consumption does more harm than good. A cup of garri contains about 360 calories, 95% of which is carbohydrates and further consumption with soup, meat and/or fish, increases the level of calories.

Consuming a great deal of starchy foods like eba is like welcoming excess weight with open arms.
Fufu, made from cassava:
Fufu is another staple food made from cassava and its origin can be traced to Ghana. Fufu is of good nutritional value as it is rich in protein, fat, carbohydrates, potassium and low in cholesterol. Some are turned off by the smell that fufu gives and/or the fact that it takes longer time to digest.

Research has it that every part of cassava plant has a toxic chemical called Linamarin. This chemical, even after boiling the cassava, doesn’t change its state and this could be harmful during digestion.

However, plantain contains a considerable amount of carbohydrates and more calories are produced when it is fried in oil. Also, the water content decreases when fried and this might not be satiating enough.
Integrating plantain into your diet is making way for ample calorie intake. Taking 100 grams of plantain is consuming about 30 grams of carbohydrates, 15 grams of sugar and 120 calories. Other methods of cooking plantain (aside frying) should be adopted if one cannot live without plantain.
Pastries:
There’s an endless list of flour-based pastries which are baked, fried or roasted and are often taken between meals. Healthy snacking helps you maintain physical and mental energy and it also helps one have control over main meals. Eating too much rice could adversely affect glucose metabolism in the body. White rice contains about 4 grams of fiber per cup and consuming it in excess would fill one up preventing intake of other foods.
White rice is also low in phytic acid because of the bran which is always removed during processing. Ample research has it that white rice increases the risk of getting diabetes. It is advisable to consume brown rice or reduce the rate of white rice consumption.
Pounded yam:
A lot of Nigerians love pounded yam and it is widely consumed across the country. Pounded yam is a source of carbohydrate and a good source of energy which contains dietary fiber that helps reduce constipation.

Pounded yam is high in calories as a small slice of yam contains about 330 calories and one tin cup of pounded yam contains about 400 calories from carbohydrates alone. Pounded yam has the highest glycemic index compared to boiled yam and the process of arriving at pounded yam makes carbohydrates more available to enzymes that disintegrate the carbohydrates to glucose.
Eating pounded yam is consuming calories with no real nutrition. Diabetic patients are advised to steer off foods with high starch and embrace foods with low starch.
damiloladuke: A man identified as Mubarak Abdullahi has been sentenced to jail for stealing chicken.
The 29-year-old ex-convict was sentenced by a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, to five months in prison.
Abdullahi, who resides at Angwan Hausawa Karmo, had pleaded guilty to the three counts of being in possession of a chicken suspected to be stolen, idleness and constituting nuisance.
The convict pleaded with the court saying, “Please sir, temper justice with mercy, times are hard, and no work in the country.”
Earlier, the Police Prosecutor, Ijeoma Ukagha, told the court that one Mohammed Ismailia, a team of vigilance group at Idu Gbagji, arrested and took him to the Karmo Police Station on Monday.
The prosecutor said that the convict has been prosecuted before for stealing a turkey.
During police investigation, he said that the convict confessed to the crime and all efforts made by the police to take them where he stole the chicken from proved abortive.
Ukagha said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 319, 406 and 199 of the Penal Code.

Hello guys. I'm kinda in a dilemma rgt now. I'm a medical doctor about #500k a month with allowances. However I have been offered a scholarship for masters in the UK and I'm hoping to practice over these subsequently.
However I'm torn between resigning my job here in Nigeria (which though quite high paying but is riddled with frustrations from poor working conditions to poor facilities to practice my skills as a surgeon etc) OR accepting the scholarship offer and moving onto a place with good facilities and potentials.
I have this fear of the unknown, if I resign over here and move over there only to discover things aren't what it seemed or as rosy as I thought. Advice urgently needed pls.

Yusuf commenced the NYSC programme two years after graduating from the University of Surrey, United Kingdom.

alBHAGDADI: There's currently a movement out there which wants Christians to throwaway the old testament part of the Bible and just stick with the new testament alone. Those behind this movement are mostly those against tithing. They say we are not to obey old testament laws because Christ has freed us from the law. They say those who obey the old testament laws are under a curse. Below are their favourite verses
Galatians 3:10 KJV For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
James 2:10 KJV For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
They quote the above verses when you tell them that tithe is very much relevant today as it was in the days of the children of Israel. They immediately quote tonnes of old testament laws which are very difficult to follow, and tell you that you simply want them to be under the curse of the law if they dare break any of them.
The problem with such people is that they don't understand the Bible because they lack the Holy Spirit which guides into all truth. That's why they have thrown away a whole portion of the Bible and have stick with the New Testament. Even the new testament which they claim to follow, they do not believe in it.
Now, is the old testament to be thrown away? No, because it is as good for us today as it was for those of old.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
As seen above, all scripture is profitable for doctrine. It doesn't say the old testament is not profitable nor does it say it is only the new testament that is profitable. It says all scripture. God gave us the old testament so that we can learn a lot from what happened before our time because such lessons will help us during the end times.
1 Corinthians 10:11 KJV Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Now, concerning keeping old testament laws. We are to continue keeping them until Jesus Christ who died on the cross tells us otherwise. Now, he's not going to tell us otherwise because he's already stated what we need in the Bible, we just have to look therein. S, what did Jesus Christ himself said concerning the law? Let's hear him speak.
Matthew 5:17-20 KJV 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Did you see where Jesus said he has thrown the law into the refuse dump? No, you can't find such. Rather what you'll find is him saying he came to fulfill it. He even said not one jot shall pass away. To show that what he said back in the old testament still stands, he placed a loss on whoever shall break one of the smallest of the commandments and even go ahead to teach men to do the same thing. That's why I pity those who say they won't tithe and go about teaching people against tithing on social media.
You may ask, if the laws of the old testament still stand, how come people no longer offer animal sacrifices and other practices of the old testament like ablution, keeping the Sabbath day etc?
Before I answer those questions, let me first of take you on a ride for understanding. Read the below verses.
Deutoronomy 22:5 KJV The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.
Leviticus 18:16 KJV None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their unclothedness: I am the LORD.
Both verses are Old Testament laws against incest and cross-dressing. Now, the people who say we should throw away the old testament and those who say we shouldn't obey the laws of Moses are so foolish in that they do not see the error in their saying. According to them, Jesus Christ has died to set us free. Did he died so that we can now cross-dress like homosexuals and sleep with our sister or mother? An old testament law also says we are not to bow down to idols. What these people are saying is that we can now bow down to idols because Jesus has set us free. These people don't know what Jesus set us free from, they just parrot junks which they heard a social media liar say. They might even say we don't need the law to teach us what is right from wrong because the Holy Spirit living in us will do that for us. That foolish statement made them throw away the old testament. But wait, let's see who the Holy Spirit is:
John 14:26 KJV But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
The Holy Spirit will bring to remembrance all what Jesus told us in the Bible. Now, how will you be able to remember what Jesus said in the old testament when you've thrown it away? Or don't you know that the entire Bible is about Jesus right from Genesis chapter 1 to the last chapter of Revelations? Jesus speaking:
John 5:54 KJV For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
To be honest with you, it is not every law in the old testament that we are to obey as Christians. But how do we know which to obey from those we aren't to obey? It is by listening to Jesus, listening to what he said back then in the old testament and now in the new testament. That's how we know that the laws on ablution and Sabbath have changed.
Concerning the law against idol worshiping, did Jesus change that the law in the new testament? No he didn't. That's why we still obey that law today. What about cross-dressing and incest? Those laws still stand because he didn't change them.
Now, there are some laws which he changed in the new testament. Remember he stated through Apostle Paul that since the Levitical priesthood changed, there came a change of the law. It doesn't say the law was thrown out, it only says it changed.
Hebrews 7:12 KJV For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
The law which talked about not eating certain animals got changed in the new testament when Paul said we can eat all things.
Romans 14:2-13 KJV 2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. 3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
Remember the law against eating blood? That law still stands.
Genesis 9:4 KJV But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
Acts 15:29 KJV That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
You see, whatever Jesus doesn't want us to continue with he clearly states it in the new testament. Now, whatever he didn't change about the old testament laws still remains. It means whatever he said back in the old testament must still be followed. If he didn't tell you to stop, you are not to stop. Since he hasn't told you to stop obeying the anti-cross dressing, the incest and so many laws of the old testament, why do you feel you can just wake up ome morning and stop obeying them?
John 14:15 KJV If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Where did Jesus command you that you shouldn't pay tithe any more? You will never find. The closest you find is him even upholding the law on tithing three times in the new testament. Since he hasn't told you to stop, who are you to stop paying tithe? What he said back then still stands and must be obeyed. If you go about disobeying it and telling people to disobey it too, then you will be the least in the Kingdom of God.
For all those who love to say Jesus has set them free from the curse of the law, so they are not going to obey the law, such people don't even understand that particular verse they quote. Jesus didn't set you free from the law so that you won't obey it any more. Rather, he set you free from seeing it as a means to eternal life. If you say you want to make heaven by not sinning at all i.e obeying all the law, then you will end up in hell fire. You will end up there because you can never succeed in obeying the entire law. Since no man can pass the whole law without failing one, Jesus had to come and make it easy for us to make heaven. He came, passed the law without sinning or failing any. When he died, his righteousness was taken from him and given to us who believe in him, while our sin was given to him.

Does that mean since we are saved we can now bow down to idols, commit incest, not pay tithe, coveteousness, steal, cross-dress, murder etc? No, because it will mean we are disobeying the laws of the one who saved us. Guess what? we will receive spanking from him if we do such.

Actually, God sends prophets in the aforetime with different commandments. The Old testament is only there for us to realize the importance of the death of Christ and our inheritance in God now. Christ has fulfilled the law and we therefore don't need to keep them anymore. We are Christians and NOT JEWS.

It is no longer new and surprising when we hear about the exposed sexcapade of a pastor and a member of his church, or about the choirmaster who impregnated the sister who is a member of the choir. It's now a 'common thing' when young church-goers engage in casual sex in their rooms and come to church in shining clothes on Sundays, flaunting their energetic dancing steps, and even speaking/blasting in tongues. And this is not even all about the young ones alone. Even some elders and older deaconess and leaders knows what they do in secret when no one is watching.
You know, few days ago after praying to God for messages, one of the things I was shown was about immorality in the church. Do you know it's now so bad that some folks are indulging in these sinful acts right inside the church building itself?
This article is meant to serve various purposes. We will see some reasons for this menace, as well as some solutions. If you are an unbeliever who is being discouraged to go to church because of the disgusting acts of some Christian folks, you will see reasons why these things are so, and why you shouldn't allow the waywardness of some brethren to hinder you from meeting the Lord Jesus. If you are already part of a local church, and you are one of the chaste Christians around, I trust the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to see how you can play a role in eradicating immorality from the church. Let's get down to business.
The Criteria For Being A Member Of The Church Has Changed (The Ancient Church Vs The Modern Church)
Why was there not a high-rate of immortality in the ancient church? In the churches that were pastored by the Apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ, why weren't there numerous cases of raunchy and disgusting sexual relations between members of the church? The answer is simple: Majority of the ancient Church-goers first became genuine Christians before joining the church. So, the ancient church wasn't infested with an intriguing rate of immortality because it was filled with Christians who were genuinely born-again.
However, things are different today. I tell youths every now and then that many of them are in the church today simply because they were born into Christian homes, or they don't want to be the only ones at home on Sundays. In clearer sentences, many so-called Christians today are yet to be born-again. They are yet to genuinely give their lives to Jesus Christ, and are yet to make the choice to forsake the lifestyle of the sinful flesh. Since they haven't passed through the spiritual process that will help kill the sinful desires of their flesh, they can't but act as unbelievers, right in the church. When they are made youth leaders or choirmasters or whatever, they can't but go on exhibiting the works of the flesh in their departments, staining the reputation of the church in the process.
Being genuinely born-again is a necessity to align with God and His will. It entails giving one's life to Jesus Christ and making Him Lord and Savior of one's life. When you make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior, it means you have embraced His finished works on the Cross that cleansed your sins away, and you have agreed to make Him your Master. That is, anything He asked you to do, you do them. Anything He asked you not to do, you don't do them. And since He has asked us to flee sexual immoralities and other forms of sinful activities, you are to run away from them (He will give you the Holy Spirit to help do His will - if you are determined in the first place)
So, if you are in the preaching arm of the church (either a pastor, or the Bible Study Cord, or a Sunday School teacher, etc) always retain it at heart that there are a lot of unbelievers in your congregation, and so you shouldn't hesitate to preach messages of Salvation every now and then. Although the normal thing is to preach Salvation messages in the streets while evangelising, and to preach 'matured messages' in the church, we can't but deal with the basics to these unbelievers parading themselves as Christians in our churches.
The Church Keeps Derailing From Holiness-rich Messages That Makes People Heaven-conscious
I have no problem with 'niche ministries' (as I also have mine). When I say 'niche ministries', I mean a ministry that focuses on maybe prosperity messages, or healing, or marriage, etc. The problem is that we are not making these messages holiness-based (yes, there are ways you will preach prosperity messages, and people will be encouraged to live holier lifestyles in their quest for wealth)
Today, many of our churches pay too much attention to messages of "walking in the supernatural", "speaking in tongues", etc, and many of their members no longer retain the required consciousness of holiness in their day-to-day activities. Seriously, humans forget things easily, as our flesh is weak and fragile. And so, we need to be constantly reminded about the need to live holy lifestyles and to be heaven-conscious.
We Are In The End Time
Let's be realistic. The only things some churches focus on is holiness and righteous living. Still, we still see folks that are corrupted with sexual immoralities. Why is this so? Simply because, we are in the end time...
"....that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves....unholy...lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God" (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
So, don't be surprised seeing a lot of sexual immoral persons today. It's already prophesied and it can't but come to pass. It only means the coming of Jesus Christ is very near, and you should make yourself ready to be rapturable. If you are yet to give your life to Jesus Christ, please do so now, and you will become fulfilled in God.

UcheSecondus: ......challenges military to seek constitutional amendment for full participation in partisan politics.
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has urged Nigerians to troop out in large numbers on Saturday ignoring the clearly visible intimidation from the military and vote out bad government.
Prince Secondus said that if Nigerians fail to come out they would be playing the game of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who has turned the country's armed forces against her citizens to scare them away from exercising their civic responsibilitíes.
The National Chairman admonished the military who has shown more than passing interest in this general elections to seek constitutional amendment and get fully involved in the governance rather their continuous violation of the statutory rules of the land.
He said in a statement from his media office that the apparent usurpation of the roles of both INEC and the Police by the military has raised the bar of the electoral criminality of this administration.
Prince Secondus bemoans the damage being done to the country's military by their blatant and brazen involvement in partisan politics.
The PDP boss who obviously was mocking the leadership of the county's military particularly the army, remarked that given the excitement they have shown in their role of helping the ruling party to illegally win elections, he was advising them to seek seek legal backing to be formally involved in politics.
"It is scandalous and dangerous for the county's military to continue to ignore the cries of the people on the illicit roles of the military in the South South region notwithstanding that the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court has a standing ruling barring the military from participating in any way during the election.
But despite the provocative actions of the military ahead of Saturday's election particularly in the South South geopolitical area, Prince Secondus has this caveat for them, 'whatever you do in a democracy what prevails is peoples will power not gun.'
