First thing first, you would need to confirm vehicles customs duty as well as request for dealers plate as well as the necessary document
For the dealers plate. If possible get someone experienced to help you transport the vehicle
Also make sure do draft a change of ownership document with appropriate signatory

I've just run a scan on my car and there are a lot of error codes. Could anyone assist in advising what next to do?
Mostly relative to the ABS/VSA/SH-AWD system
I've attached the scan report.

Whilst the vehicle requires physical inspection, I can see that the abs module as communication issues with most of the modules in the vehicle, first step would be to check abs circuitry ( power, ground, can communication lines ) basically to confirm that the abs module is still functional

The Honda Crv is a better vehicle here, it has a very reliable drivetrain compared to the Santa Fe
( Honda k series earth dreams engine paired with a cvt gearbox, and it's pretty much reliable when maintained properly )
As for the Hyundai Santa Fe it would have been another good option for me but, in my shop we've had to rebuild the 3.3l v6 engine prematurely due to failed bearings and I did my research on it and it turns out It was pretty common with the Santa Fe, also newer model Hyundai engines aren't the strongest and are very expensive ( speaking from experience) .
That said, I do offer vehicle sourcing / pre purchase inspection services, just in case you'd need one sir, I could render such service

I am considering getting a 2012 Toyota Highlander and would really appreciate honest feedback from people who currently own one or have used one extensively.

I currently drive a 2011 Toyota Camry, so I would especially like to know how the Highlander compares in the following areas:

1. How reliable has the 2012 Highlander been for you, especially with Nigerian roads and conditions?

2. How much should I realistically expect to spend on regular maintenance compared with a Camry?

3. Are parts readily available in Nigeria, and are they reasonably priced? Are there any expensive parts I should be particularly concerned about?

4. How does the Highlander's fuel consumption compare with a 2011 Camry in normal city driving and highway driving?

5. What problems have you experienced with your Highlander.

6. If you had the opportunity to buy again, would you still choose the 2008 - 2013 Highlander?

Well, I recently sourced one for a client and I can tell you for a fact that it’s a solid buy if due diligence as been done
- it’s pretty much durable on Nigerian roads has a very good ground clearance.
- it depends really because the Camry could be a v6 which means similar maintenance. E.g for a typical oil change you’d need 6l of engine oil rather then 5 liters a typical Camry with 4 cylinder would take, not too bad really
- parts are readily available but parts like engine and gearbox are very expensive if issues arises at the same time they are very durable and issues woukd creep up only if the user doesn’t maintain it properly
- fueling would be considerably higher compared to a Camry ( not astronomically high though for it purpose it’s pretty fair )
- common problems I’ve seen is overheating and that can be avoided, another problem not too common and would affect the pre facelift models is a rubber oil supply hose near the oil filter canister that ruptures and can lead to loss of oil pressure and a catastrophic engine failure, the latter years where corrected with a metal pipe though
Lastly it’s a very good buy for someone in need of practicality and I could actually even be of service to source, do pre purchase inspections and even help with vehicle registrations, thank you

Hello all, I will be buying my first car by December. I am considering the Toyota camry 2011 XLE or the 2012-2014 camry. My budget is about 10m - 11m.

First question is, are the benefits of the 2012 - 2014 camry over the 2011 model worth hustling for more money to add or I can go for the 2011 model and be rest assured that I am settled for the next 3 - 5 years as regards car?

Second question. I was talking to my neighbour who has a Toyota corolla and he said he faces challenges with pot holes because of how low his car is. Does the Toyota camry 2011 or 2012 - 2014 model also face challenge with ground clearance and potholes? Will it be more advisable to go for a Venza because of the better ground clearance?

I am not considering the Lexus Rx because I want a car that has good fuel economy

First of i'd like to say that you can't go wrong with any actually, and if the 2014 is worth saving up for, why not but really it shares the same powertrain ( engine and gearbox, but obviously engineered differently ) the major plus here is the 2014 is more recent compared to the 011 and also a newer body style.
For your ground clearance issues, if a Corolla complains of bad terrain then the Camry won't do any better either because the Corolla has a higher ground clearance.
And lastly you can probably stick with the venza preferably the 4 plugs variants. If you need a car conciege Service who would help source, inspect and assist with vehicle procurement you can always reach out sir, thank you

Hello guys, please I seriously need help with my car. The car is a 2012 Hyundai Sonata.

The car kept draining battery overnight, about 2 months ago the battery ran out while I was driving home so I took it to rewire to overhaul the wiring system. He asked me to buy a new outer fuse which I did. After it he said the alternator is bad, this alternator was just about since I bought. I bought another tokunbo alternator but the guy could not fix it, it wasn’t charging my batter. I brought another rewire, he said the alternator I bought is bad, he asked me to fix the old one, we fixed and he was able to install it and it was charging my batter. Few weeks after the alternator stop charging again, he inspected it and said we need to repair it again. We didn’t that again and it worked for about 3 weeks again and the battery light came on again


He asked me to buy another alternator and I did, when he installed it was blinking the battery warning sign, he condemned the alternator and I requested for a replacement from where I bought. He fixed the new one again and it was still blinking the warning sign. He said the speed clock is bad, and that is the reason the alternator is not charging the battery efficiently. He said I can drive the car for sometime while I find money to replace the speed clock. I drove the car for about 6 hours and the battery is totally drained. I have taken the car to another rewire now and condemned the alternator again, I told him to hold on because I do not think the problem is the alternator.

Please forgive my boring epistle, I don’t know how to explain better. I’m so confused and troubled right now

The vehicles charging system would need to be properly inspected as well as a parasitic drain test carried out on the vehicle

I'm currently torn between a 2015 Toyota Highlander and a 2017 Honda CRV. Both are within my budget. I am leaning more towards the CRV but I have heard many good things about the Highlander. The Highlander is a v6 though which is why I have concerns about the fuel consumption. My current car is a four plug and it serves me well in terms of performance so I’m not sure what the real advantage a v6 has over a 4 plug and is it worth the extra cost in fueling?

Now I actually did inspect a 2016/17 Honda civic for a nairalander and they use the same engine with the Crv and here’s my honest take
- The Crv is a wonderful vehicle but you’d be much better getting the 2.4l k24aw9 engine over the 1.5k turbo. There’s been a lot of complaints of oil dilution issues as well as head gasket issues ( not to common though ) but I’ve personally worked on one with an head gasket fault.
- the Toyota Highlander on the other hand is a nice vehicle, it is powered by one of the best powertrains ever created by Toyota, I mean in terms of reliability, obviously it has more cabin space compared to the Crv. Downside for the highlander is major part like engine/ gearbox are very expensive if issues arises so, maintenance is key Infact for both options
As regards fueling the Crv would easily win by offering 7 miles more per gallon for city driving
Now for both vehicles if you’re getting a foreign used/ Nigerian used unit just make sure they are properly inspected before purchase. I also offer such service just incase you need one, thank you

Funny enough I went with someone who does inspection before buying the car and I don't know why he didn't see it, either with his scanner or physically.

The tire pressure light was on (which is the only light on) so I thought one of the tyres was not adequately inflated, I checked all four tyres to verify their pressure just to find out that it was just one tyre that was very low, after putting the right pressure the light still stayed on. I told the guy the next day and he said yes he saw it but didn't tell me because it doesn't matter.
I am saying this to point out that maybe there was something about the heat that came up on the scanner but he didn't tell me, when next I get to his place will bring up the issue with him.

I just got a 2008 Venza (V6) and I observed that the sound is kind of high than what I think it should be. So, I decided to check the car this morning when I started it and discovered that the fans came on as I started the car.

My question is this: Is it normal for the fans to come on once I start the car without any load (e.g. A/C) or the engine been warm?

Hmmm it's actually 2 things
Either your vehicles fan has been connected directly and made to run off ignition power( typically involves deleting the thermostats ) and running a separate relay
The second reason why this can happen is actually a safety feature I've noticed on Toyota and Lexus
When there seems to be an issues with the ect sensor, or the fan module, the car would blare the fan continuously so the vehicle won't overheat, ( is your temperature gauge reading anything )
If it's the first case scenario, it's not like it'll destroy your engine, but you'd be having higher fuel consumptions because the car gets to operating temperature slower. if you'd like to revert back to manufacturers spec a mechanic would need to properly inspect and ascertain why they directed the fans in the first place so as to avoid future overheating issues. I went to buy something with my car, only to come back outside and the remote stopped working, I tried to use key to open the doors and it didn’t work, I had to use the boot to gain access to the car, as we speak the key doesn’t open the boot anymore, pls advise if anyone has faced such issues

Try replacing the key fob batteries first ( the remote battery ) and see if that works
And if your blade key isn't opening the door most likely it the door lock mechanism has issues
But for the remote I think the battery is down probably
