IPOB's Sit-at-Home Call, the greatest Enabler of Andy Uba's Impending Victory

Disclaimer: I don't have any candidate of choice as long as Anambra governorship is concerned, but I found it moronic for some people to enable the same system they claimed to be fighting while throwing away a golden opportunity to assert their influence where it matters mostly.

Base on political arithmetics on ground vis-a-vis IPOB's ill-conceived sit-at-home order, targeted at the forthcoming Anambra gubernatorial election, of which has created tensed security situation in the state, Senator Andy Uba is the next governor of the state. Quote me.

Majority of the people on ground have fallen to IPOB's infantile propaganda that boycotting the election will hasten the release of Nnamdi Kanu and entrench Biafra course—of which is not true. In fact, it will strengthen the apartheid system against Igbo which IPOB claimed to be fighting.

Many who wanted to come out and vote on 6th November, 2021, will stay indoors out of fear of being caught between trigger-happy security personnel and marauding unknown gunmen. What will be the result at the end of the day: unprecedented voter apathy that will make it very easy for results to be written in favor of Buhari's party—the APC.

And Andy Uba wins. Buhari wins. Who loses? Anambra people, Nnamdi Kanu cum IPOB and Ndigbo in general. Please don't get me wrong, Andy Uba is a worthy Anambra cum Igbo son—I have no prejudice against him, but at this point, like Hope Uzodimma, Uba has become a pawn in a chessboard being played by centralists and secessionists. His victory is a victory for Abuja centralist forces and great loss for regional tendencies like IPOB.

Andy Uba will not take Anambra seriously knowing that they didn't not make him governor. His loyalty will be 100% to Abuja, as being done by Hope Uzodimma. As governor, he will abstain from any meeting of South-easterners or southern governors that seems anti-government cum anti-north. He will further criminalize IPOB activities in the state.

Then I ask again: who is IPOB working for? Who is thinking for IPOB? Why enable the same tendency you claimed to be fighting via illogical sit-at-home order, when you should have mobilized your massive followers and sympathizers at the grassroots to ensure Buhari's candidate loses the election—any other person can win—I don't care who he is.

I intentionally did not use the phrase "Andy Uba losses the election" because at this point, he is only a pawn in a chess game—the target is the central government holding Nnamdi Kanu and subjecting him to phantom terrorism charges, while the real terrorists are being pampered by the state.

If IPOB cannot use its popularity and appeal to make Buhari's candidate cum party lose the election in IPOB's supposedly stronghold, that means they're yet to be strategic about its agitation. It is just grandstanding and shenanigans—a typical of motion without movement. The only language Buhari will understand is that APC LOST ELECTION IN ANAMBRA BECAUSE OF IPOB PROTESTING DETENTION OF ITS LEADER, NNAMDI KANU.

Seeing the possibility of APC's massive failure in the Southeast during 2023 general election, especially if IPOB repeats the same action against ruling party, that is the only thing that will quicken the release of Nnamdi Kanu. The only language Nigerian politicians understand is election. They will avoid like plague anything that has the potential of making them lose elections.

Andy Uba's win is Buhari's win. His loss is Buhari's loss. Seeing the same IPOB that claimed to be antagonistic to the government Buhari heads, enabling a candidate of the same APC via its irrational sit-at-home call, is tantamount to idiocy and stupidity mixed with a little touch naivety served with a tray of arrogance.

The next court sitting for Nnamdi Kanu's case will be on 10th November, 2021. The most effective strategy IPOB can use to hamstring Buhari and his handlers, is to use Anambra election to demonstrate who is really in control of Southeast. IPOB's show of force should not be seen only on sit-at-home days but on election days as well, to ensure that anyone that has sympathy of the center losses. By doing so, even Igbo politicians will start taking IPOB seriously.

IPOB still have between Monday 8th to Wednesday 10th of November to sit-at-home if they so wish. You can call me mumulettual if you want but wisdom is profitable to direct. If APC wins coming Anambra election, enabled by IPOB's Sit-at-Home Call, Buhari and his northern supporters will see IPOB as a group of rabble-rousing vuvuzelas that engage in highfalutin noise-making. The mockery by northern elements will be conspicuous on social media when the result of the election will be out.
