You are right in your observations.

I guess the only way forward is for the Government to incorporate those enterprises into Public Limited Liability Companies and make the state Government a shareholder in those enterprises, while the private investors will own shares in the enterprises and act as technical Partners.

The above arrangement was put in place by the Federal Government in the LNG Projects in Nigeria. Foreign technical Partners run the LNG Project and enter into agreement with western nations and corporations, without political interference from the Nigeria Government, who earn hefty income and taxes from the body at the end of the day.

If the Imo state Government has the political will to implement the above reforms, there is no reason why those enterprises can not be run in a very profitable manner.

I predict that the next generations of these robots, will be built as tall as humans and have the same kind of body weight, as a normal athlete and so reduce the advantages humans had in this race. The feedback the Robotics Engineers got from this race will definitely inspire production of better Robots.

The project is Lagos to badagry, parts of Iyana Iba is not yet fully opened for usage, the stretch to Badagry is still incomplete but that Durbar junction has been a death trap.

The Mile 2, immediately after the bridge used to be terrible but was repaired.

What begs for questioning is: Were the contractors underpaid? Was there an inquest into why the road is needing repairs few years after construction.

This is taxpayers money, they should be held accountable.

Flooding and poor drainage is causing destruction of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway. This happened at the Orile end of the Expressway inwards, at Alafia Bus Stop (though this has been repaired),Durbar Hotel Junction etc. This is also likely to happen at the other side of the Expressway at Mile 2 on the way to Orile as it also experiences severe flooding.
The Government should take a wholistic look at the entire drainage system of the Expressway.

Those roads are you horrible especially from Abule Egba to sango, from ijaye onwards is an eyesore. Meanwhile when there's heavy traffic and commuters try to pass one way, police is arresting only private drivers not commercial drivers... If u dey drive Honda no near those road lol

Good effort by the Governor. I hope he can complete the road as per the timeline promised as this will give his administration many accolades from the citizens.
The Lagos state end of that Expressway (From Alagbado to Abule Egba, Ahmadiyya, Meiran, Alakuko, to Sango Otta) is a very big eye sore and prone to flooding. I was in that Area in April 2024 and it was not pleasant to behold and experience travelling through there. I hope the Lagos State Government will keep their own promises about reconstructing the Expressway.

Ondo might have more oil, but the East has the largest Gas deposits in the country with Imo State accounting for about 50% of this. Nigeria has the 8th largest Gas deposits in the world and with our oil expected to last for about 50 more years, unless new reserves are discovered, you can then guess where the future of the Nigerian economy lies.

It is worrisome that over the years, our Pharmaceutical companies did not rise to the challenge to produce their own versions of Asthma reliving inhalers and antibiotics ((Augumentine is currently about N30,000 a bottle) which would have countered the excessive profit motive of the foreign pharmaceutical companies.
The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), the private Nigerian Pharmaceutical firms and the Federal Government should meet and take cogent decisions that will enable the speedy production of high quality alternatives to those of foreign firms; this can be achieved through the provision of support to the local Pharmaceutical firms by the Government as this might save many lives in the end.

The Police should start investigations by questioning their staff because they know the kidnapped man's worth; also the other 'expatriates' should be questioned too because many of them were born in Naija and know the streets too.
