There is far too much money available to political office holders (salaries and other perks of office) and this ends up attracting the desperate and wrong people into trying to get into those offices; we must find a way to remove such funds from the holders of political offices in Nigeria.

The traffic situation in Lagos can be remedied by both short and long term solutions. first we have to decongest business centers and encourage the opening of other business clusters in under-utilised areas, to direct traffic to other areas and relieve pressure from congested areas, improve contract award of road building and repairs so that they can be held accountable when the road washes away quickly. Drainage, lagos is in dire need of good draining and all across the state we need to revamp the drainage system to prevent road damage as well flooding.
Creation of a true intermodal transport network harnessing water, rail, tram and stronger and more robust public transport. The funding for such exists, what it takes is having a government who is committed to making it happen, that is what I and the laaour party want to bring to lagos, a truly working lagos for all classes of people, and for all lagosians, not just those on the island.

These are very good submissions, but please also consider the issue of pavements along the road; around the Apple junction area of Amuwo odofin, there are very deep gutters (though not properly channeled) that could swallow a grown adult completely and can cause drowning when flooding occurs.

I dont understand what these politicians ate today. First, it was Garba Shehu boasting that Buhari has performed better in office than Obasanjo, now its Ikpeazu who is boasting of installing a legacy in Abia state.
Come February 2023, the people of the state will tell him that they dont want such inept legacy by voting against the hand picked candidate of his party.

Where is the middle class under this administration? At least Obasanjo revamped the telecommunication sector and this had multiplier effect on the entire economy, our foreign debts were paid off and there was economic stability to a large extent.
Under this government, apart from some infrastructure that were put in place (though some were not needed such as the rail line to Niger Republic), the economy is a comatose state, our foreign debts has skyrocketed out of control and there is a very high level of insecurity.
Given the above comparisons, I am yet to understand the premise from which Garba Shehu drew his conclusions from.

The Sheik's call for negotiation might not be bad in every sense because some protracted issues require political negotiations to bring them to an end; an example of this is the Niger Delta Amnesty program (though they were not killing people callously like the bandits) which helped save further loss of lives and resources.
However, where the criminal elements refuse to negotiate with the government and choose to continue in their criminal activities, then the government will have no choice, but to apply it's full military might to bring banditry to an end.
CBN's cashless policy that seeks to control the movement of cash will also help to greatly discourage banditry.

I don’t believe this pole because the figures shown for Obi in north does not reflect reality. Secondly, the places where Obi got 50% like southeast has 5% of voters. Therefore, the hard figures of voters which depends on number of those with PVC shows that Obi’s percentage will not translate to higher voter figures. Furthermore, Atedo Peterside is an Obi supporter, I know they would manipulate the pole by asking more igbos in all areas to vote more than the rest of the people who are in majority. Ethnic bias within same region is what I am seeing in this manipulated pole.

Most Southeast guys don't send money directly to their parents or relatives in Nigeria, they sell the hard currencies to their Igbo friends and relatives into importation and they use it to pay for goods abroad instead of sending directly, so most Igbo Diaspora remittances return back to Nigeria as goods...while the importers send naira to their relatives. This is one major reason FOREX outflow restriction by CBN under Buhari govt. didn't affect Igbo importers and other Nigerian importers who know how to connect to Igbos abroad.


Lastly, a lot of Igbo guys abroad are dissatisfied with Nigeria's current situation under APC/Buhari and many have stopped investing back home, another reason for low remittance from Igbos abroad.



The whole world know that Igbos make up the highest population of Nigerians living abroad, even in strange countries you have never heard before except maybe online lol, you too know this.

I trust my Igbo brothers to find a way around unfavorable Government policies.
I know an Igbo importer who helps other people in the diaspora with naira cover while collecting foreign currencies from them as he resides in the diaspora too.

The index shows states that are developing well over time (check the 2016 index and compare it to the of 2019). Some states in the top 10 in 2016 dropped out of the top 10 in 2019.
The index is meant to be a wake up call to states that are not doing well.
It will be interesting to see the index of 2022.
