GENERALS, how do i post a link? |
this thread is about African most powerful military, right? please GENERALS, lets stick to that.. |
Fighter Pilot: When I first read about it I couldn't believe my eyes and when I saw it on the news, I rubbed my eyes in a complete disbelief. It was announced officially that SA is no longer listed as a developing Country and that she and Turkey were the latest to be officially classified as DEVELOPED COUNTRIES.What is holy see? A country? Bermuda? Quite a joke!. CIA classifies SA as DC(DEVELOPED COUNTRY) but IMF did not.. Controversial?? Well... |
Ndubuisi711: Do you know what does SA awaits us to do? They are waiting us to commit a blunderbuss mistake regarding appropriation of our budget. One simple mistake will have potential of knocking Nigeria out of the competition for good and impact negatively in our economic growth. The only thing that keep us going is because we have more money to stay in the competition and once that money can be affected, we will trip and fall down and be overtaken for ever. Do you ever think that if Egypt can get the opportunity to overtake Nigeria will they ever allow Nigeria to overtake them again. The answer is big NO, they will have learned from their mistake and put all their investment where it should be. Investors will drop us like hot potatoes and run after those promising economies irrespective of whether they have strong military or not, for so long the country has a stability. Is that what you want?this dude is utterly retarded!!! |
Go and find out about factors that are causing revolt in any country. People sometimes can feel that the government is doing less for them and start to revolt against the government. Go and ask Egypt and Libya with their strongest armies. Put the needs of the people first. You can never have better engineers who can develop advanced weapons if you do not have better Universities. SA to be where it is today is because they have invested a lot in their economy and infrastructure. Have you ever seen how well advanced are SA universities, their students can study everything locally without having to go overseas. After their students graduated they work in SA, right in their big industries including the so called DENEL manufacturing advanced weapons. Military academies are not credible institution of higher learning. One Submarine can build many advanced universities and pay salaries of foreign lecturers who can help import skill in our country for good and that's what SA is doing. broTher, WHAT EXACTLY ARE TRYING TO TELL US?? |
Zim used to be the third biggest economy before they took the wrong path by investing less in their economy and more in their military. Besides politicians will never buy into your ideas of having the most powerful army in the world. It is just not lucrative for our people.
nobody is saying NIGERIA wants to be the most powerful nation on earth, we only wants a very formidable army that will defend our sovereignity as a Nation. there are budgets that are taking care of the peoples need at the moment. |
Ndubuisi knows absolutely nothing about what we are talking about here. His claim about being a government worker is utterly false, he knows nothing about the close bond between the military and the economy of a given country, his arguments are baseless and crazy, it would be wise you showcase your ignorance or you end up being a laughing stock. i might see you as plainly retarded. |
@patriot4, atleast i made a fascinating point. |
First and foremost, NDUBUISI has shown who really he is, a mere nairalander.. National development plans have all been carefully laid down by the govt. education, power, infrasture, etc are bein maintained by various offices in federal and state level of the country. a country is vulnerable when its military is perceived as weak and defenceless. I think our armed forces re under-manned and under-armed. for a country of over 730 million people, we should have about 1.2 million personnels in the all 3 armed branches(i excluded the DSS and police). acquire lots of but copiable technologies in form of aircrafts, frigates, etc.. but the good news is NIGERIA IS GOING TO UNVEIL FIRST LOCALLY MADE AIRCRAFT IN 2015!! |
The NA budgets does not affect national developments, PERIOD!! |
Ndubuisi711: Sorry, I am employed by the federal government and your being in America has really intensified your backwardness about current news in Nigeria. Luckily our federal government is not led by psycho like you who are over-obsessed about military and rather ignore the people's needs to quench their narrow interest. It is apparent that your education about such industries is solely based on the internet and there are some realities that you cannot necessarily learn from the internet and rather would have to go to school to learn about that. It looks to me that your over-obsession about military power has really diverted your attention about the government priorities and for which military is not one.Sorry bro, NN has a long term aquisition plan that includes 3 submarines. military aquisitions will not affect national developments in any way.. we are on our way to the UN security council, sir. |
Some of these SANDF troops are going to be deployed to DRC, to fight the M23 rebels Please excuse the crappy music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uotc_W-gyBY I just wish the SANDF gudluck in their expenditions, the CAR mistakes should be avoided this time around. GOD'S SPEED SANDF... |
LT SHANGY: I recently noticed a fascinating trend in the NA OFFENSIVE AGAINST BOKO HARAM/ANSAR DINE TERRORISTS, The use of airstrikes and special forces to dislodge the terrorists, then the regular forces comes up as mop-up forces is interesting, i think they learnt alot from the french forces in the recently concluded malian offensive. thus aquiring minimal casualties.excellent form for the NA. THESE SANDF RETREAT TACTICS is tactless. notice the covering fire is at the front(the last man should be doing that), the last foto makes me think the retreat is in dissaray. |

I think this massive arrests was made fruitful with a carefully laid down intel.. |
@Agaustine again, i have read about those aquisitions. even those AK-47s we see with our soldiers are modified and upgraded by DICON. Currently, we are showing the world our PROFFESIONALISM in our showdown with the boko haram/ansar dine terrorists. conducting special warfare/airstrikes in strategic and hostile areas in the 3 states, we have recorded 35 KIA,65 POWs. we have only 3 KIA and 7 WIA in the NA. 1 AIRCRAFT damaged and currently under-repair. still waiting for foreign medias to start thir usual arm-chair reports and anti-NA BASHING. |
Augustine Again: nigeria has a large quantity and quality of brand new modern weapons already in service or on order. on this thread/topic go to pages 103, 115, and top four posts on top of this page 280 and update your knowledge and renew your mind.
brother, our tank systems and jet systems are quite old(except for our miserable F-7NI),our Aradu flag ship is quite old. the NNS Thunder is an opv. well, we are still waiting for our SU-25 frogfoots, J-10s,and hongdu L-15 falcons. |
Fellow Nairalanders, like i earlier posted, their is no clear continental military super power. However, Regional military powers do exist.. But if i may put it this way, African largest forces are the east Africans, South Africa are technologically advanced, but they lack personnels with the will power to fight.. They even lack personnels 2 man their submarines and grippens, Nigeria has a formidable force with the fighting will power and can adapt to any threat, nevertheless their weaponries are outdated and old.. They lack that acquisition power. |
no end to the war against bh until they ve been brought down to their knees |
Fighter Pilot: The Denel Mecham unveils the new Casspir New Generation, Caspir NG 2000Yes, Denel is a defence company in south africa, internationally recognised with good products. However, Denel is not a wholly SA defence company, the SA buys Denels products, but it comes with free units, lets say 2% of denel products goes 2 d SANDF free. |
@ syndergp, the Nigerian armed forces is only a regional power in the western part of Africa. Having over 300,000 personnels in all 3 arms of d armed forces, its the largest in all d sahara mahgreb region, has been active since 1959 till date. The south African national defence force was curbed from former south african defence force, has over 100,000 personnels in all 3 arms of d armed forces. Has sophiscated military equipments and viable defence company, been active since 1800. The strongest military in Africa is quite unknown, but i can only say there are regional military powers. Examples are Nigeria, South africa, Ethiopia and maybe Egypt.. |
@ Agaugust, yes am Nigerian. |
andrewza: And only 14 South Africans died. Where over 500 rebels where killedI think the casualty rate was downplayed by the SA govt.. A reporter counted more than 50 bags being loaded on a plane.. Just to save face |
oluole: All crab. You declared a state emergency and left all the political structures in place. I think Mr. President does not have what it takes to handle these blood sucking demonsplease brother, kindly go and study ur nation's 1999 coustitution as amended or quit making a fool of yourself; Thanks. IGNORANCE is definitely a disease! |
seunny4lif: God help us....Na all these kind of people wan front us for Odua Rep?With all the things dat is going on in the country,na 2015 election him dey talk abt?Yorubas need to think well abt hw to run our own country and stop been nigeria...Punk! Wat da f**k u saying?? |
