I'm in the same boat! My mom told me that I would have an inferiority complex the rest of my life without college... thanks, mom. But at the same time, I was making more monthly than my graduated friends, with debt. And I didn't spend four years writing papers, staying up all night, being stressed out. Unless you're in the tech field, I'm just not sure a BA is all that important. I started this business two years ago. An older friend told me that we could make good money selling fruit. We buy the fruit from villages and bring it to the city where it gets a much higher price. My friend is six years older than me, but he couldn’t keep up, so I set off on my own. I work every day. I’ve already made enough money to buy some land. I’m going to build a house and use the rest for farming. My parents tell me that I should be in school. I respect their views, but I also make more money than them. So it’s hard to listen. Plus I’m learning a lot about business. Even though I’m skipping school, I don’t think I’m skipping education. My brother started a business also buying pallets of discarded textbooks and selling them to college students for cheaper than they could buy at the campus store. When Amazon came along that business failed. Then he had a business selling beer signs in malls, that business also failed. Now he is on business #3, that business is very successful. But it took him many years to get to that point. I think once you've had your own business, managed money, managed inventory, managed employees, it's very hard to go back to college and sit in a classroom. I agree with this young man that it's a different kind of education. College is not for everyone, but it's good to have a fall back. (btw, my brother makes more money than I do now! 1 Like |

Hello House, Is your boy here !!!!!! Please, I need bits of advice I was refused student visa twice back in 2011 and 2013 but later graduated from Nigeria University 2014 and now I have intention visiting the US soil on a (vacation) tourist visa. I'm married with two beautiful kids also got a good pay job as Mechanical Engineering with one of the leading beverage company. My Simple Questions are 1. My passport is new without any country visa yet. what's other best intention to visit US soil for first timer visa seeker like me, it's possible to get a US visa base on my story line for vacation reason and shopping for my family or what are other best way to sell my story to the VO. Note: - I understood no sure way to get a visa but the Grace and favor of God with a lot of prayers. just wanna learn from others. Thanks |

emeka55: @Luckchild, first point of correction, change that "we fell in love" to "she fell in love" because u no follow am fall in love. U just wan use am enter Germo. This ur topic is quite delicate for a public forum cos u don't know who's reading it. emeka i say very big thank to you but i have to tell you, i will to get in tourch with you if u dont mind again .i thought getting to germany with family re union visa it more easilier then germany students visa . i have intention of going back to school in germany if i get through her just im scare of the process for student visa i dont put my money into it and end up like america student visa again and the requirement for block account with 8000 euro for where i want see am . incase of love people change you may not having feeling at first but as time go by you start developing feelings as you get to know the other person better so i dont have intention of using her and dump her just wanna have a better future and life. any way once again thank you but you to enlight how to go about german student visa . thank you |
