CrimeSon Kills Father On Christmas Day In Enugu by LuckyLadolce(op): 9:12am On Dec 28, 2015
A youth, Anselm Ugwuoke, is currently on the run after killing his father, Paulinus Ugwuoke, 60, on Christmas Day, in Enugu.

The incident occurred in Imilike-Agu, a community in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

It was gathered that at about 10.00 pm on the fateful day, Anselm and some of his friends had a heated argument with his father at their family house.

The subject of the disagreement is unknown, but our correspondent learnt that the matter took an ugly turn when Anselm struck his father with a heavy object.

Paulinus, the father, reportedly collapsed, and became unconscious and died shortly after.

After noticing that his father had died, Anselm took to his heels, in company with his friends.

The culprit is yet to be apprehended.

His elder brother, Sunday Ugwuoke, who expressed shock and sadness at the tragic incident, urged the police and other security agencies to ensure that Anselm was brought to book.

He said Anselm would not get away with the crime.

“I am still in shock over what has happened but I know we will still get Anselm,” Sunday said.

The spokesman of the Enugu State Police Command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the development, said the police was on Anselm’s trail.

Amaraizu said the police was equally investigating the incident.

He added that the victim’s remains had been deposited in a mortuary, adding that an autopsy would be conducted on the corpse.

In another tragic development, also on Christmas Day, about four persons lost their lives in a car crash at Umumba, Ezeagu, in Enugu State, along the Onitsha-Enugu expressway.

It was learnt that the accident involved two commercial buses, speeding from opposite directions on the road.

A head-on-collision involving two vehicles led to the death of about four persons, while others sustained injuries.

Amaraizu, who equally confirmed the development, said the persons confirmed dead in the accident included one of the commercial bus drivers, and three passengers.

Two of the dead passengers are children, according to the police spokesman.

He said the driver and the three passengers were confirmed dead at Our Saviour Hospital and Refuge Hospital, respectively, in the Ninth Mile area of Enugu, where they were rushed to after the crash.

The corpses of the victims were deposited in the morgue at Our Saviour Hospital, Amaraizu added.

Other passengers who sustained injuries in the accident are receiving treatment in the hospitals

My beloved brother said it would push men away from me shocked

Please does this not sound myopic? I really don't get it.

I understand your point and I understand your passion and zeal. Quite unfortunately rather we don't make law for one person or one scenario but we make law to govern all. Secondly people are not pronounced guilty until their case have been proven and they are convicted in court. On that basis Dasuki for now is innocent. The onus is on the state to proof his guilt. Until then he has to be presume innocent. Thats is how our law works and anything short of that is jungle justice which can only with time lead us into anarchy.
On the issue of soldiers found guilty of mutiny, their cases have been reviewed and some of them have been absorbed back into the army. That is some justice done there. However as wicked as we were made to believe that their cases were not all have their verdict upturned. Meaning some actually committed mutiny. What many of us failed to understand is that the same lawlessness that pervades the upper echelon of our society is also rampant among the lower cadre of the society. People joined a military organisation but they want to continue to behave like civilians. The word mutiny unfortunately occur in military dictionary and when you sign to join the army you sign to obey your superior. Nigerian military itself has been so bastardised that even the soldiers in term of discipline do not fare better than their superior. How many of our soldiers can boast of entering the army on merit? Many denied legitimate recruits and use connection to enter the army because they think it is better being in the army than being jobless. When time arrives however to go and perform their professional duty, no one wants to die. You want to argue they run away because their is no weapon but I ask: Do they expect a system built on injustice, a system that lacks merit to produce people that will provide them weapon? Rtd. Gen Buhari till date couldnt produce his certificate. Do you know implication of that? People actually rose in our army without basic qualification. No wonder we produced a General Abacha!
The long and short is that our system is built on fraud and injustice and as such we will continue to have all these problems. You can hang Dasuki but there are millions Dasuki out there. Infact many of those who want to use Dasuki as scapegoat are hardly better than him. That is the harsh truth and you can't get justice out of injustice. Never!
very much on point. Am glad you feel my pain. Thanks.
PoliticsRe: EFCC May Return Dasuki To DSS Custody by LuckyLadolce(m): 5:48pm On Dec 25, 2015
tete7000:
You talk as if you want to deny that innocent people have never been accused of crying they didnt commit before. People's right irrespective of their crime as long as they have not been convicted must be guaranteed at all time. Thats is the bedrock of justice. There can never be justice where there is no fairness.
Dasuki is not innocent! There are some situations where prosecution needs not to be prolonged and dasuki's case is just one of many... this wicked man knew full well that soldiers were not provided arms and they were sent to war fronts to face terrorists who are well armed while he was busy enjoying and sharing money meant for weapons. Who could be so wicked than this? After some of those guys refused as they claimed, they charged them for mutiny and wanted to sentence them to death. What a mess! What do u call that? Fairness? People who are not being fare to others should not enjoy a bit of fairness from anyone. Thats my position!

Whoever falls victim of such law is inhumane... and am not. Not even people close to me are very wicked like Dasuki. U seldom see heartless people like dasuki.. they're not so common among common men on the street. They're found in the government.

PoliticsRe: Re:APC's 2014 Christmas Message by LuckyLadolce(m):
Lemme help u out... APC was only trying to say 2014 xmas would be the last xmas nigerians will celebrate under the administration filled with corruption and impunity. It was not mentioned in the article that; by 2015 Xmas, all these problems would've been solved. Is that cleared?

Read below, an excerpt from the article:

‘’While there is no magic wand to solve the myriad of problems facing our country in one fell swoop, an APC government will begin to positively impact on the citizenry within its first few months at the helm, to such an extent that Nigerians will have a better Christmas celebration in 2015,’’ it said.

And for me, 2015 xmas is better than 2014 cos I received 2 chickens from a loyal customer even though am not a christian. Nah the chicken I used chop wheat with ewedu..

An assassin knows only two things - targets and non-targets - even if the target is a fly and the non-target is a psycho...
Its your point thats baseless, the military have their laws and according to their laws those soldiers erred greatly, therefore, they are to be dealt with according to the military law and you are complaining because its inhumane to you, a civilian who abides by civil laws. huh

Do you expect them to use the 1999 constitution in their martial court? huh
it's wrong in any military of the world to send soldiers to war front without arms. So are u telling me it's there in the martial law that soldiers should be sent to war front even without arms? I'm very sure you haven't even seen a riot before let alone a war that's why you're spewing all these... Get me the martial law book and show me where it's written that a soldier should be sent to war without arms.

If I was in the military and it was commanded of me, I will have to do it by hook or crook, not writing the exam because I don't have a pen isn't an option...but unfortunately for you I'm a civilian and my civilian law is considerate.

It just like saying that I'm an assassin and I'm to assassinate a target who can only be killed by a specific weapon which is not given to me, will I tell my master that I won't kill the man? huh
Was the man you were going for aware you are a killer? Was he armed like boko harram? Oga u dont have point.. it's not even logical at all.

That you're not in the military is not an excuse for u not to join the fight against boko harram. U volunteer like civilian jtf did. U just need to do a write up here on nairaland and u will jst see government officials at ur door step tomorrow to pick u up for the fight. Very simple.
