Career › Re: The Illusion Of Big Pay: Nigerian Oil & Gas Workers Ain't Exactly What You Think by luckynzo(m): 3:58pm On Jul 05, 2016 |
AnakinSkywalker: Hard Truth. We all thought we could do better. Yes while some are very disciplined, you still have to do a lot of things based on financial power and status. You want the best schools for kids, you want the best areas to live at. You dont want to be driving a range rover home in Ajegunle.
And, wow, 20 % interest on cooperative Loan? Which Oil Company is that? They must have raised their own capital. No, boss. In ours they get it for that from the bank and add their own interest of about 2-5 percent. Making it between 22 to 25 per cent for the loan.
While, I will not discourage anyone from getting a job in the industry whether as Regulator, Contractor or Operator, they must plan their lives properly.
At the beginning you buy clothes and sew new natives, you buy shoes etc. After a few years you wear 1 shirt for 2 years. You spend more on people than on your self. It is to take solace in the fact that one has helped people in need at least.
It is why I swore I must delve into business. A lot of workers have damned the conflict of interest bla bla bla and gone ahead to set up business establishments. "We cannot come and go and die" Without mincing words, this is a very irrational post. Are you kidding me? Do you know how many people will kill to have an oil job. All that money and they choose to live a lavish and reckless lifestyle? Any oil worker that finds him/herself in the situation you've just painted will be in the same situation even if they're Bill Gates. The money will never be enough because the more money they make, the more lavish their lifestyle People are crying for a $5000 annual income and somebody with a $40000 -$120,000 annual income is crying. Oya na. Let's switch places. I make N100k monthly and I still have dependents. |

irunooboo: Keshi is over rated. He won the nation's cup by fluke and couldn't take nigeria far in Brazil. His template of failure cost us another nations cup qualification. He is not a legend.

Militant1: Everytime is dialogue. We are tired of the failed promises given and cancelled by both this administration and previous ones. Is it too mich to ask for clean water, free education, good jobs, eletricity, roads and other infrastructure for a region this feeds the entire nation. The can dialogue free here to the nearest star and back. If the basic needs of the Niger Delta people are not met, next year we will have another group cropping its head up again. It behooves on GMB to ensure that this is done. Let's pray the Federal Government is serious about this. Development for the region should top the list of demands by the NDA. |

Politics › Nigeria To Start Dialogue With Niger Delta Militants- Kachikwu by luckynzo(op): 12:52pm On Jun 07, 2016 |
Nigeria will start a dialogue with the Niger Delta Avengers militant group which has been claiming a string of attacks, its oil minister said. President Muhammadu Buhari had appointed a team led by the national security advisor “to begin the process of a very intensive dialogue with those caught in the middle of this,” Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu said late on Monday. “We are making contacts with everybody who is involved, the ones that we can identify, through them, the ones that we can’t identify so that there is a lot more inclusiveness in this dialogue,” he said. “Our prayer is that this works so that we resort to dialogue rather than use of force.” Kachikwu said the military would scale back its campaign to hunt down the militants in the southern region, which produces much of Nigeria’s oil output. There was no immediate response from the Avengers group which has been issuing statements through its Twitter account. He also said the country’s oil output was between 1.5 million and 1.6 million barrels a day, down from 2.2 million barrels at the start of the year. “Over the last two months, we have probably lost about 600,000 barrels from various attacks of militants in the area,” he said. https://businessdayonline.com/2016/06/nigeria-to-start-dialogue-with-niger-delta-militants-kachikwu/ |

Yeah. I have used them several times.. You pay into any of their Nigerian bank accounts and they give the money to your contact in Ghana in either Naira or Cedis (at the current black market exchange rate. They charge 1k for transfers below N100,000 and 1 percent for transfers over N100,000. |
