Chioma1989: So sad! See how you described the innocent girl. She may not even be the way you described her but you chose those descriptions to fit your narrative. A mother cannot be that insensitive to arrange that kind of a girl for her son. Those "tushed" and classic girls you are yearning for may not even find you attractive or you may not fit into their lifestyle. Please, come close to your wife and cherish her. Raise her to your so called standards. She may even outshine you later in life. Value and cherish her and tell her she means so much to you and watch how she will double her love and do everything to impress you. I feel for her, seriously. It is always depressing being in love with someone that doesn't love you or just tolerating you. I guess she must be from a poor background and marrying you is her first time of being to the city. This kind of girl will later turn out to be your backbone. Stop watching too much Nollywood. |

Like that academic said, this is supposed to be exploited for its positive outlook - the government should work on increasing food production to meet the demand surge.
I can relate with this somewhat, as I am currently working on one such agro produce export deal to one of the neighbouring African countries. |

PlayMaker14: Very brilliant question my brother..... Now, the Iyesé like I stated earlier, is the Traditional Prime Minister of the Kingdom, and over here, it's been rotated between the Quarters of the Kingdom.
No Iyesé would even have that thought to begin with, it's a big curse on it's own to have envious thoughts about the thrown let alone having a feel of attachment to the sacred thrown. 😊 Fair enough. |

PlayMaker14: Good question my brother, you see, we have the Traditional Prime Minister, popularly called the Iyesé.... Just like the Speaker or Senate President when the President is indisposed. What will the Iyese be doing afterwards? Won't there be some kind of feeling of attachment to the decision making stool by the Iyese, leading to envious thoughts? You know how power can be. |

Kobojunkie: What you are now saying is that your tradition does not support your case for children submitting to their parents since it at least makes allowance for disagreement where necessary. That runs counter to your original claim that a child is to submit to his parents an idea that implies the relinquishment of the child's right by Law, to exist as an individual, in the relationship. I don't know where you picked your interpretation from, but I am definitely not responsible for what you have chosen to make of what I said. If we say a student is to submit to his teacher, it does not cover been lured to have sexual relationship with such a teacher. There's a line that common sense should tell you not to cross. It's that simple. It doesn't change the base factor of "submission". And I have explained what I mean by submission, which clearly never suggested taking leave of one's brain entirely. |
Family › Re: Feminist Allegedly Loses Husband To Her Non Feminist Friend by Luckysbab(op): 9:56pm On Dec 16, 2023 |
Kobojunkie: Really?
Imagine a situation where a child is born into a home where the father kidnaps and sells others as a side gig, and the mother aides the father as well even if by turning a blind eye. Are you expecting us to believe that your tradition mandates this child submit to this way of life he was born into? This is a hypothetical case with a 1/100000 occurrence rate. It doesn't qualify as as a standard to determine the subject of submitting to parents. That said, a child is allowed to disagree on matters that are prohibited by law, as is with this case. |

Kobojunkie: OP, the "feminist" in this case even went as far as to congratulate the friend. Why you come carry the issue for your head?
By the way, tradition and religion are pretty much the same. I answered a bigot who decided to make it a religious issue. How's it carrying the matter on my head? Everyone has a belief system, whether it is called tradition, religion or wokeness. |

kkins25: I'm sure, these don't define what to "submit" is.. Many people respect me, but they don't submit to me.. The question still lingers, what does it mean to submit?
Say Husband say A, and Wife's stands on B. do you imply that Husband's A trumps Wife's B? How do you "submit" to your parents and make them see your point when on opposing sides? |
