The Northern chapter of the Christians Association of Nigeria, CAN, on Sunday, asked the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to intensify its efforts in fixing the problem of fuel scarcity, which had lingered in the country since January.

The association said the untold hardship Nigerians were experiencing as an oil producing nation was unacceptable.

The association’s Public Relations Officer, Rev. John Hayab, who spoke on the significance of Easter celebration, said in Kaduna that the government should reflect on the fact that Jesus Christ died to eliminate the sufferings of mankind and do the needful to eliminate the current hardship being faced by Nigerians.

The Northern CAN’s spokesman criticised the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Mr. Ibe Kachikwu, for saying that fuel scarcity might linger till May.
Kachikwu, who is also the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, had told State House correspondents that he was not a magician and the fuel scarcity could not be eliminated with a magic wand.

Hayab described Kachikwu’s statement as unguarded and an insult to the long-suffering Nigerians, stressing that Nigerians voted the current government for positive change.

According to him, government is meant to cushion effects of hardship on the people, hence it needs to wake up to its responsibilities now more than ever before.
The leadership of Northern CAN, he noted, was of the view that the celebration would be worthwhile if Nigerians were not facing such tough times.

He said, “What we are saying is that government is meant for the people and as such government should double its efforts to reducing the pains inflicted on the average Nigerians by the fuel scarcity in the country.

“The way and manner Nigerians queue, (some even sleep at filing stations) in the face of this hardship is unacceptable to the leadership Northern CAN. Northern CAN wants the government to earnestly do something urgent to avert this ugly situation before it gets out of hands.”

The association, however, urged Nigerians to support government’s efforts by doing the right thing at the right time, to move the country forward.

PDP zoning their Presidential ticket to the NE will never give them victory. Is it not the same NE they left and abandoned to burn only to use the money meant for fighting insurgents for campaign and shared amongst themselves They need to do more that.



As for their VP candidate , they are better off with picking their VP candidate from the SE because that is their only main support base for now . And that won't still guarantee them victory.


NC is definitely out of the equation because they can't field two northern candidates as President and VP .


SS: fielding a VP candidate from the SS will create acrimony with the SE because they believed the SS already served their terms with Jonathan and the SE will expect nothing short of total support this time around from the SS for their own candidate.



As for SW, they already have a sitting VP in place and a well respect and responsible one at that. this region is traditionally anti PDP so even zoning the Presidential ticket to them may not be enough to make them win the region talkless of the national election. And remember that will even automatically cost them SE support.





The only way forward for the PDP is for them to close shop and merge with any of this small parties. ( meaning they should just forget about 2019 election for their own good)

If PDP chooses their Presidential candidate from the NE & Vice President from the SE, then you should know that APC has lost it all.

With this permutation, PDP will certainly get 80-90% of votes from the SE & SS, at least 50% of votes from the NE being the zone of their candidate (don't forget that one of the states in this zone is currently under PDP); and come what may, PDP will certainty get up to 40% of votes from the SW & NC; and at worst 10% of votes from the NW.

Honourable Mohammed Sani Kutigi represented Lavun/Edati/ Mokwa federal constituency of Niger State in the 7th House. In this interview with RUTH CHOJI, he is of the view that the current administration should concentrate more on salvaging the nation’s economy rather than making excuses.

Would you support the devaluation of the naira?
As a member of the House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party I am very much concerned with the state of the economy. We have to look at what direction the people leading the country now are going and the actions they are willing to take to revamp the economy.
As a concerned citizen, I believe the policies of the government should be such that will benefit the entire people. Let me give you an example, if as a human being, you are leading or heading an organization and health wise, you are not well. I think the first priority will be for you to get well before coming to lead the people. So what this administration should have done was to sit down and look at the economy and see where things have gone wrong. If you look at it, since the inception of the administration, it is just about excuses .Then the talk about fighting corruption has taken the main centre stage as their first priority. No one is thinking about revamping the economy. So to devalue or not, we have to look at the indices, we need to look at what is causing this problem. We have key issues here, oil prices have gone down, non-oil exports are struggling and direct foreign investment is shrinking.

Is this peculiar to Nigeria or it is a global phenomenon?
To be truthful, with the crashing of oil prices in the international market, any economy that did not diversify is facing these problems.

Isn’t that an indictment on the PDP because they ruled for 16years when oil was sold very high and nothing to show for it?
Let me give you an example, I don’t like to push blames. I have worked in virtually every sector of the economy except for oil and gas. When the head hunters go out to look for capable hands to manage any multinational organization, one of the main criteria they look out for is capability and capacity. When you look at world economy, where multinationals change their CEOs, where you don’t perform, you are shown the way out and when a new CEO comes in, he comes in with his strategy on the way forward and never relying on what the past CEO did or didn’t do. The new CEO will fully believe if the old CEO had been performing, there would have been no need for change of guards. When you look at APC, one of the most highlighted campaign terms they used as an economic goal was, ‘there will be job creation’. They said they will create three million jobs immediately they come in. It meant they knew the state of the Nigerian economy and how to go about salvaging it. So what we expected them to do was to sit down and think of how things could be salvaged, not to sit down and still continue to pass blames while the situation is spiralling out of control. The moment you sit and continue to pass blame, it shows that the capacity and capability to deal with these imminent issues is not there. It shows you don’t know what you have come to do.

What will it cost Nigeria to get the economy back on track?
I am happy with this question because as an opposition party man who is very much familiar with the APC covenant, they had clear cut plans on what they were going to do to revamp the economy theoretically. But since they came in, the CBN has only been using fire brigade approach to see if they could salvage the fall of the naira. They went as far as poling in over eleven billion dollars ($11bn) from their reserves to defend the naira. But when they realized its ineffectiveness, they tried to bring in short term polices which still never worked. The naira has continued to depreciate by over 50% since they took over from the PDP government. There is still no economic plan in place.

What is your assessment of the fight against corruption?
People will think I am being biased but from what you have said, have you seen EFCC arrest those within the APC or arraigned before the courts on corruption related charges? Recall that over 55% of major APC members were from the PDP.
The National Assembly alleged that, the 2016 budget was padded. Were you surprised when the revelations came out?
When people say the budget is padded, I don’t believe it is true. The people who are supposed to work on the budget did not do it. The president should be held responsible for what happened to the budget because you can’t present a budget proposal to the Nigerians legislators without going through it. The questions that abound now is that, the minister of Budget and National Planning must have presented an executive summary to the entire executive council for their initial approval instead of a line by line perusal by the president and his team before its presentation to the National Assembly. Recall it took him six months to appoint ministers; it took him almost eight months to present the budget. So there was ample time for him to scrutinize it and pick out the discrepancies because, these are serious mistakes. It is not by sacking the director budget that makes it right. The president owe it to the Nigerian people to come out and apologize because the budget is a national document that will sustain the livelihood of the Nigerian people and also ensure they reap the dividend of democracy. When you look at the budget and see the discrepancies, it is serious. People were happy at first because it was a six trillion naira zero based proposal that would defy the countries austere economic circumstances. It would have defied all Nigerian economy’s problems. But it became the biggest blunder of this administration. Look at some of the discrepancies, five million for computers for News Agency of Nigeria and others; mysteriously becoming three hundred and ninety eight million, you have ten billion for ministry of education that was attributed to typographical errors, significant errors were notice mostly in the state house budget. Three billion was given for State House clinic capital projects compared to what was given to the entire seventeen government teaching hospitals we have in the country, two hundred and fifty million was earmarked to buy cars tyres. for God’s sake. Twenty seven million for buying C-caution and fire extinguishers, are you telling me that the cars in the state house did not come with all this? Are the cars in the presidency and state house tokunbos? They are brand new. All the cars are fitted with all this as basic requirements at time of purchase. What are you budgeting this money for? Various sums in hundreds of millions were repeated under different sub heads. You have bogus costing of over fifty-three million repeated over fifty two times, thirty seven million plus repeated over three hundred and eight times. Budget for vehicle and computers repeated twenty four times to the tune of forty six billion and you will also notice that different ministries with their MDAs brought different prices for the same vehicles, like Toyota Hilux, MDA A will quote seven million, (7M) B will write thirteen million (13M) for the same type of vehicle, MDA C will write for the same car, twenty seven million, so seven hundred and ninety five million was set aside to update a website of a ministry. Is this change mantra the Nigerian people yearned for?

Since Honourable Yakubu Dogara and Senate President Bukola Saraki took the mantle of leadership in the National Assembly, it’s been one issue after the other and it has been reported that some members even took the Speaker to court over the House rules, the Senate also seem to be having its own issues. What do you make of this?
I am no longer part of the House so I won’t want to pre-empt them but be that as it may be, it will be better if all the Members come together as time is no longer on their side, as such they should be thinking about the Nigerian people and how to help them overcome the various challenges bedevilling the country. So the earlier they sheath their sword, the better for them. I am a PDP member and I think this is an APC issue. When the center cannot hold, things will definitely fall apart. This is inter- party politics playing out in the National Assembly. During our time, we had issues but they were not similar to this. So we will allow APC to solve its issue. But truly time is on the side of no one.

The PDP, they seem to be finding it hard to stabilized since they lost the general elections. What will it take to bring back the glory of the party?
I think things are on cause. The only thing that could bring back the glory is when we all sit down to do the right thing. I intend to remain in PDP because I own all I have in politics to the PDP.

As Nigerians groan under the hardship of fuel scarcity which has persisted in recent days after, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu announced yesterday that the crisis over the Prime Motor Spirit will end in few weeks, precisely in April.

This is contrary to an earlier statement credited to the minister in media reports in which he was quoted as saying that the current queues at petrol stations would persist till late May.

The minister who doubles as the group managing director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation (NNPC) was also quoted to have added that he was not a magician with a magic wand to make the queues disappear overnight.

While hopes of millions of motorists were dashed by the statement allegedly attributed to Kachikwu, there appeared to be a glimpse of hope yesterday when the minister in a fresh move to calm frayed nerves announced that scarcity of petrol will end in few weeks.

The minister who spoke on Friday through a press statement signed by the spokesman of NNPC, Mohammed Garba Deen said measures were in the works to ensure a short and long-term plan to end the scarcity in April,
“The Direct Sale Direct Purchase (DSDP) arrangement for crude would commence in the first week of April and all these coupled with the fact that the President has given his support to increase the crude supply to NNPC to ensure local sufficiency of products will go a long way to solve the problems in the short and long term,” he said.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) called for understanding, saying it is working on long and short term measures to find lasting solutions to the challenge.

The Corporation, in the statement made available to LEADERSHIP Weekend, said it empathised with the difficulties Nigerians were presently going through due to the current fuel situation, even as it assured that government was not taking their patience for granted, saying the situation will soon be alleviated.

While noting that the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Kachikwu is working tirelessly round the clock to ensure relief is brought to Nigerians, the NNPC spokesman said its immediate concern is to make petrol available through the interventions and processes put in place to eliminate the queues within the next one to two weeks.

Garba Deen disclosed that a cargo containing 42 million litres has completely discharged petrol while two more cargos with 44 million litres are currently discharging, adding that another PMS cargo containing 44 million litres is berthed and awaiting discharge.

“We have enough products lined up to ensure that the supply gap which created the problem is bridged. In order to ensure effective distribution we are working with Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), oil majors and over 1,000 NNPC staff, nationwide to ensure we overcome the obstacles in the distribution of the products,” the statement noted.

NNPC added: “While not resorting to excuses we would like reemphasise that this present management of NNPC and indeed the government inherited huge and complicated problems with respect to importation, distribution and pricing of petroleum products.

“Nigerians would recall that the sum of N522 billion meant for payment of fuel subsidy, covering the last quarter of 2014 and the entire 2015 was approved by the Senate in December 2015 in order to pay for subsidy arrears inherited by this government.”

The Corporation further noted that for long term solutions it was working to put in place machineries to ensure that the refineries are fixed and working optimally, while the pipelines which have been under attack for some time now are repaired.

THE human rights lawyer spoke to CHRIS IWARAH. Excerpts:

If the judiciary has truly crumbled under the executive, then we would expect you also to be scared that those who insist on respect for the norms of democracy would be in trouble soon.
No, I’m not scared. And I’m taking a cue from General Buhari himself. If he had surrendered to the forces of the PDP, he would have quit politics a long time ago. If people could not kill him, why would he go and kill anybody? We can’t be scared at all. Our lives are not in the hands of the president, not in the hands of the ruling party. Once he was not scared and stood for election four times, challenged the results in court, insisted that he must be in power, and he is in power now by virtue of his own courage and the goodwill of the people of Nigeria, there is no reason for him to come back and be threatening anybody. With all due respect to the president, his own life too is in the hands of God. So, if he tries to threaten anybody, to send anybody after somebody’s life, he will pay for it. So, we are not scared at all. We do this for this country and nobody can threaten anybody’s life; not even the judges. So, I’m trying to encourage all our judicial officers, they will account to God one day. If out of fear they turn the laws upside down and interpret the law to favour Buhari, to favour APC, they will account to God one day. And we must warn all judges that APC will not be in power forever. Any time we get rid of this dictatorship that we’re seeing now, we will hold every judge account­able, who is turning the conditions of bail towards the ruling party. A day will come when we will set up a tribunal and try all of them. So, it’s not just enough for judges to pander to the whims and caprices of those who are in power; power is never static. There’s nothing that says Buhari will remain in power forever. When he leaves power, we will hold every court that is turning the liberty of our people upside down accountable.

But if you’re not scared, why should judges be? Doesn’t that suggest that something is funda­mentally wrong with how they do their job?
No, no, no. Why the president has succeeded in cowing the judiciary is very simple. You can imagine in this country now, with the way the APC has rammed fake propaganda concerning corruption, any judge who is unfortunate to be accused of taking a bribe, Nigerians would not listen. They would sack him immediately. It would take the exit of this government before you would ever get the truth. And who is a judge? A public servant who does not have any other job, who has children. So, the fear of persecution is enough to deter a judge. If you look at this country now, the salaries of judges are paid as if we are in the military rule. If a judge is suspended for one reason or the other, the Federal Government would withhold his salary; there’s no way anybody can rescue such a person. So, it is he who is paying the piper that is calling the tune. But I tell you one thing. No matter what you say about Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, during his rule in this country, he did not threaten any judge. No mat­ter what you say in this country, the judiciary operated to its maximum under President Goodluck Jona­than. He was a respecter of the rule of law, separation of powers. It was Jonathan that brought Attahiru Jega, brought card reader that defeated him, even as incumbent president. That is a leader who has the interest of his country at heart. Maybe he was lax, maybe he didn’t supervise those who were working with him. But in terms of respecting the will of the people, in fairness to him, he allowed all agencies of government to operate to the maximum. He respected the constitution. We can’t continue in this programme of dictatorship, we can’t continue in this programme of silencing all voices of dissent. That’s not the Nigeria of our dreams. That was not the promise the president made to us on the day of his inauguration. He said he was going to be president of everybody and president of nobody.

You keep talking of “we,” but a vast majority of Nigerians appear to want to see the president punish corrupt Nigerians and don’t care about how he does it. Are you saying they are invariably digging their own graves?
More than digging their own graves. Let me tell you, that inclination is as orchestrated by the propaganda machinery of the All Progressives Congress. That propaganda happened during the elections when the entire effort of the past administration on the Chibok girls, Boko Haram was described as a write-off. It was after they won the election they discovered that it was impossible to return the minds of Nigerians to accept that the military was actually working. Why I say Nigerians are digging their own graves is this. When a dictator emerges, he uses a popular slogan, in this case, anti-corruption, to buy the minds of the people and say “forget the rule of law, if you allow the rule of law, these people will run away. Let me jail them, let me treat them anyhow I want as long as we recover our money” and Nigerians, journalists, lawyers will say “go ahead, we don’t care.” When he has finished dealing with all corrupt people and there’s nobody to prosecute again, he will now come back to his opponents, he will come back to journalists, he will come back to lawyers, he will come back to the masses. Then, it would be too late for you to be telling him to follow the rule of law, because you have already invested him with the power of a dictator. And that is why Nigerians should think back. We support anti-corruption. Yes, by all means, recover our money from anybody and take them through all trials as much as you can. But do that under the constitution. If it is the law that allows you to arrest somebody for looting, when you arrest that person, any other right that the law grants him in the course of your prosecuting him for looting, allow that right to function. If the law allows you to arrest a citizen and that law contains a provision that allows him to be on bail, follow that law through.

But that law never worked in the past and corruption thrived.
No, not at all. It’s not the law that is the problem of corruption. I’m sure that as we’re speaking, corrup­tion is happening in the Presidency. As I speak to you now, there’s cor­ruption in Aso Rock, there’s corrup­tion in the Federal Secretariat, there’s corruption in the National Assembly. Corruption will forever happen. You will only know the corruption of this government after the government has left. So, we can’t say it was because the law was lenient. No. The people who were in power used the incumbency factor to cover them­selves, just as the president is using the incumbency factor to cover those who funded his campaign now and shielding them from investigation. That is what he’s doing.

Looking at the trend of things in the country today, what is your biggest fear?
My biggest fear is that the presi­dent is insincere and that insincerity is leading him from one error to another. He’s being insincere with his selective fight against corruption. He is shielding his loyalists and then bearing his fangs on his opponents. He doesn’t want that insincerity to be discovered. He wants to cover up and in covering up, he wants to silence every other person. If it gets to a stage where people can’t be silenced, it will get to a stage where people will be assassinated, where companies will be closed down. I fear that we are moving towards the precipice of anarchy. I fear that it will get to a time when people will be using the president as an example of disobedience of court orders. People who do ordinary businesses, who do ordinary transactions will also be taking the laws into their own hands. It will spill over to the barracks and policemen will like to arrest people without following due process. It will spill over to every facet of our lives, whereby people will begin to embrace impunity without regards for the rule of law. It will get to a period when people will no longer respect judges, people will no longer respect the courts. We shouldn’t expose the judiciary in that regard. The judiciary is an institution that has held this country together. The president should not destroy that in­stitution, because if he does, it will backfire even on his own presidency and our development and progress. There’s no reason for that. My appeal to the president is very simple. Run this country with transparency, tell us the situation of our economy, give us your economic programme, pursue anti-corruption as a holistic pro­gramme of institutionalised agenda and strengthen the institutions. The judiciary is not the headache of the president, the president is the head­ache of the judiciary. He did not factor the judiciary into his anti-corruption war and it is backfiring on him. If you go to Lagos State High Courts, a judge has an average of 50 cases per day, average 20 judgments to deliver, average 50 rulings to deliver. You can’t pursue an anti-corruption war in that condition, because the anti-corruption case will have to take its turn among those pending cases. As long as you get to court and there will be adjournment for lack of electricity, as long as you can go to court and people are crowded like sardines in hot courtrooms, you are not doing anti-corruption war. The judiciary is the gateway to fight corruption but that institution has been neglected. The whole of this year, the budget of the entire judiciary is N79 billion; that is a declaration of no confidence. In fact, that is a failure of the anti-corruption war. So, it’s not the judi­ciary that is the headache; it is the president that is the headache of the judiciary and Nigerians.

But what does it really cost to get an activist like you over to gov­ernment’s side?
It costs nothing. I’ve called them at the EFCC and said “we support your anti-corruption war, bring the cases, we will represent you, we will prosecute these cases for you.” But they are scared; they can’t work with people who have independent minds. If you give me an EFCC case, I will never oppose bail. My interest is to sit down with the investigators and review the evidence, because the trial is the real case. Bail is not trial; it has nothing to do with criminal law at all. But the energy here is bail; how you are able to break people’s legs, force them into a car, put them in detention. When they grant them bail, you re-arrest them. You are pleasing the powers that be. You are not doing trial. Trial is gathering your evidence and bringing your witnesses and doing serious coaching for them so that they don’t mess them up when they enter the witness box. And that is what is happening now. When the case is filed, there’s a lot of steam, there’s a lot of hype, but when the witnesses enter the witness box, and they are being defeated, EFCC goes back home and slashes the charge from 150 to 50. After some time, it will get to 40, after some time it will get to 10 and until finally the charge will be dismissed; no-case submission will quell the case. The problem is not about lawyers; it’s not about how to help this government. The government only wants people who will do the work according to what it wants, to impress the public and give the impression that they are doing the work so that when election will come in 2019, you will have a hidden agenda to say “let us continue.” That is all about this anti-corruption war. And if that is the way the president wants it, I can’t go over to his side. But if he allows us to do the cases according to law, to face the real trial, you will get all your money quickly, you will put all corrupt people in jail in no time. The energy is on bail, the energy is on punishment, vendetta; keep him in custody forever. That is not trial.

Your write up is flawed in so many ways but I have no time to be pointing them out. BTW, how are you so certain that PDP candidate in 2019 will come from NE should the ticket be zoned to the northern region?

If North West alone will swallow SE & SS votes, where did the PDP got their votes last year that made the difference to be just 3m. This is despite the fact that Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Abia & Cross Rivers did not give up to 50% of their votes due to PVC issue. And also that the SW & NC didn't vote for PDP.

Go and check how many percentage of votes GEJ got from the North East last year, after that, you then use your brain to project what someone from that zone will get come 2019.

I think which ever way, PDP will root out APC come come 2019

Fellow Nairalanders, I have been observing the political developments in this country for some times now and decided to put up the result of my observation (research) for public consumption.

Generally, I think the year 2019 is going to be an interesting election year between the two major political parties, viz: the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Let us assume that President Buhari perform wonders in the next three years and probably $1 equals to N1; a litter of fuel goes for N87 and is always available; a bag of rice goes for N7k, a sachet of water returns back to N5; and a lot of employment opportunities were created. With all these in place, no doubt, Buhari would have bought the mind of many. But on a very sincere note, former President Goodluck Jonathan recorded success in virtually all of the above (except $1=N1, which of course he never promised), yet, he was voted out. This goes to show that no matter how wonderfully well the APC led federal government performed, if the PDP do their politicking pretty well and people buy into their program, the APC will be rooted out.

With the latest political development in the country, it is a common knowledge that the APC currently (and will always at least till 2019) have the North West & North East geopolitical zones as their strongholds; while the PDP unarguably currently (and will always at least till 2019) have the South East & South South geopolitical zones as its strongholds. Interestingly, the voting strength of these two blocks (NW & NE vs SE & SS) are almost the same.

From the above epistle, it is therefore visible to the blind and audible to the deaf that the battle field for the 2019 Presidential Election will be the South West and North Central geopolitical zones; and all things being equal, these two zones will decide who finally wins the Presidential election between the two major political parties.

Let me painstakingly analyse the different shapes the election might take:


APC's Northern candidate Versus PDP's Southern candidate

This was the exact combination during the last general election. The APC however "managed" to carry the trophy with 15m votes against PDP's 12m votes - A difference of 3m votes. It was glaring that had all the states in the South East & South South had their complete voting strength, the two zones would have delivered an additional 2m votes to the PDP. And if not for the heavy "propaganda" used by the APC on the people of South West and the North Central (which worked perfectly well), it wouldn't have been a difficult task for the PDP to get at least an additional 1m votes from these two zones. That is bye-gone anyway!
But as the elections were over and the APC given the mantle, it appears to many that they have been "scammed" by the APC's frivolous promises as the slogan "one chance" is now synonymous with the APC led government.
Therefore, if election is to be conducted again with the same combination, the PDP might carry the trophy.

APC's Southern candidate Versus PDP' Southern Candidate

If this becomes the true situation of how the election would be (which I doubt), the APC will be at an advantage. This is because their block votes from the NW & NE zones will certainly be guaranteed while still getting a major percentage of votes from the zone of their candidate (definitely the south west).
The PDP on the other hand will only be guaranteed of votes from their SE & SS strongholds with a minor percentage of votes from the North Central which would not get them the required number of votes to be declared winner.

APC's Southern candidate Versus PDP's Northern candidate

Clearly, this is one mistake the APC will never want to make. Having this combination would give the PDP over 80% of votes in at least four geopolitical zones. With this, the PDP would smoothly cling the Presidency. But I doubt if this combination would ever surface come 2019.


APC's PMB or any other Northern Candidate versus PDP's North East Candidate

This combination, which is most likely to be the true situation come 2019, is definitely going to be the most interesting. This is because the North would simply have to choose between any of their two sons to lead the empire of Nigeria; in other words, whichever way the result goes, their son will still remain in power. This would however make the APC to be at a disadvantage.
With this combination, the PDP will surely get their block votes from the South East & the South South. However, the APC will not be able to record such success in their strongholds, at least, the North East, which is the zone of the PDP's candidate may not give Buhari's APC beyond 40% of their votes. With the PDP getting about 60% of votes from the North East, they would have been on a clear lead. And with just 40-50% of votes from the South West and the North Central zones, the PDP no doubt, would have devoured the "Almighty" APC.

Summary of Findings

APC's Northern candidate versus PDP's Southern candidate will be (APC)50:50(PDP)

APC's Southern candidate versus PDP's Southern candidate will be (APC)60:40(PDP)

APC's Southern candidate versus PDP's Northern candidate will give (APC)40:60(PDP)

APC's Northern candidate versus PDP's Northern candidate will be (APC)45:55(PDP)
