Nairaland / General / Should I Be Worried About These Girls? by Luiz7: 3:49pm On Mar 10, 2021 |
Hi Nairalanderss, I need your advice plz. Please pardon me for any errors. I only had to rush this post. Please... I'm a 22 years old 200 level university student. First, I have to confess that I don't have experience with girls, and I think it's largely to my upbringing (This post would be long if I go into the details). I recently resumed for 200 level and had to relocate to a "face me I face you" room off-campus as school only provides accommodation for first year and final year students. The upstairs is occupied by the landlord and family while the downstairs, where I stay has 4 rooms. Directly opposite mine is a room occupied by a working lady while the next room to mine is occupied by 2 other girls, students of a polytechnic. I also got to know that the fourth room i.e opposite theirs is occupied by another girl - a student of the same polytechnic who only went for her IT. To be honest, the fact that I'm the only guy in the building, with a working lady and 3 other female students was the first cause of concern for me. But the real issue is about the two girls. When I got into the house, I had to introduce myself - at least to be on talking terms and make myself comfortable in the house. But I think these two girls are taking things too far with their weird characters. Last week, I had finished my class early, came home around 11 am, shut my door, and laid on the bed, which I think is a normal thing to do as a naturally reserved person. To my surprise, this girl simply opened my door without even knocking. I also found her reason even flimsy: She wanted to ask why I was home early that day. But since I was new, I only wanted to make friends and not enemies, I had to calm my nerves and pretend as if I wasn't fazed. A few days later, I had a lecture early morning lecture and had to rush to campus, but I had to pass a message to them about their friend that checked the previous day. So I knocked and I was told to enter. But I was shocked when the same girl told me that I shouldn't knock before I enter their room. But what shocked that she said it in the presence of the other girl and she didn't say a word. Are they up to anything I should be wary of or are they are only being nice or welcoming? I don't know if I should be worried about them. Please I need your advice people. cc: lalasticlala |

Nairaland / General / How Quickteller Debited Me Without Sending The Money To The Beneficiary by Luiz7: 12:30am On Feb 24, 2021 |
I did a transfer on the Quickteller website from my GTB master card to my First Bank prepaid card account on 12/2/2021. My GTB account was debited for N12,000 and up till now, Quickteller has not credited my FirstBank account. I contacted them and they claimed the issue had to do with FirstBank delaying crediting my account - an excuse that seemed ridiculous to me. To clear the doubt, I picked my phone and called FirstBank customer service. My people, I got the shock of my life when the FirstBank customer support bluntly told me that my transfer was not forwarded to them and that I had to go back and query Quickteller about it. It's two weeks after, and Quickteller has neither sent the money to the beneficiary nor refunded me. The worst part is that they marked the transaction successful for the money they never sent. Can you imagine that? My Nairaland family, help me call out these Quickteller guys to release my money. I hustle hard for my money and I won't let this slide. Oga lalasticlala, abeg help your boy and help me move this post to the front page. |

Why do people do this? If you don't believe what he is saying, or you are averse to it, then do everyone a favor and scroll past. There are others here that see sense in his thoughts. You can't force your atheistic bias on them, and neither do you have that right to gag anyone, particularly when the moderators haven't found his post offensive. Kindly stop the nonsense, stfu and let the guy be. He is not your business. And if you've got none, you can as well go and stand by the road side and tell every passer-by about your junky atheistic theories. Righteousness89: MJBOLT: Oluwasaeon: iamvictorbassey: 1 Like |

ProfAmaben: Bro, forget that thing... Nothing like never. Did you know the same guy, Ryan Dharl, who created Node.js is now behind Deno.js. And did you also know that he said he regretted creating Node? |

ProfAmaben: Good bro. But again, no language is "the future". We've seen some technologies come and go. And we have seen others come and stay. |
Programming / Re: Why Is PHP Not Considered As A Best Backend For Web Development Again by Luiz7: 4:40pm On Nov 30, 2020 |
ProfAmaben: That's wrong bro. Languages come and stay - even though Node.JS is not a language. More like a run time environment for server-side JS. But the point is, it's wrong to tag any language as the future. The same thing was said about Python. And now, did you know that the same Node.JS you are tagging as the future is also giving way to Deno.JS? |

Programming / Re: Why Is PHP Not Considered As A Best Backend For Web Development Again by Luiz7: 4:32pm On Nov 30, 2020 |
Idontknowyou: Don't let anyone confuse you bro. I've been coding PHP for at least three years, and I equally know Node.JS. There is no truth in saying that Node.JS is much preferred than PHP. The only thing I see there is that most new developers just like jumping on new technologies - more like a farce, the new cool thing. In fact, there was a time when Java was that new cool kid, then Python, then Node.js etc. And did you know that even Node.JS is now loosing that grace to it's latest farce: Deno.JS? So the point is: Wether PHP, Java, Node, Python or C++. All of them are mere tools at the end of the day. The point is in picking the best tool for the job. And if you are talking about light web applications, let me remind you that PHP powers over 80% of the web presently. 4 Likes |
