Education / Re: ASUU May Call-off Strike Next Week by lupey: 9:30pm On Jul 27, 2013
Saw this and thought to share it-on a light note grin grin grin

The 2009 ASUU strike that lasted
for 109 days brought out the best
and worst in d lives of many
students.
When students resumed, many
female students came with
ENGAGEMENT RINGS and
PROTRUDED BELLY.
After 9months, THOSE BELLIES
produced names like: ASUKA,
ASUBIKE, ASUFUNMI, ASULIMA,
ABISASU…
This year’s ASUU strike, I hope it
wont produce anotherwonder,e
specially now that the WEATHER is
favorable [cold tinz]. So, we won’t
get to see babies’ names like:
HARMATANASUU, ASUUSEYI,
MOJERE, ASUUGBEMI, ASUUTUNDE,
ASUUFIFEHANMI…a
nd so on…
Well,I trust my real male Geeswink
Happy Strike....ma people...
Lmao

If there are any errors ther, pls overlook 'em

Politics / Re: Soyinka Is An Embarrassment To His Admirers – Patience Jonathan by lupey: 11:08am On Jul 13, 2013
Pygru:

“Otherwise, who would have believed that the social, civil, constitutional and sundry rights crusader Prof. would maintain a safe distance from the heart of an activity that is a potential threat to the peace, security and safety of the people of a state, then collect exaggerated stories and jaundiced perspectives from familiar propagandists and character assassins, and promptly summon the media to a “state of the nation” address.
“It’s an embarrassment to his throng of admirers and followers, that a sage of Prof. Soyinka’s status, who used to be a gauge of public morality in this nation, would lend himself to a propaganda of high drive, to save a governor who elected to launch into a river without applicable survival skills.”

And what is wrong with Soyinka's commenting on the fracas in Rivers State? Isn't he Nigerian? So,because he carries a certain post,he cannot comment freely on what he feels is wrong? What happened to freedom of speech, and public opinion? Did he seditiously instigate or garner up people to disrupt the peace of the nation? Now,what is this woman saying?
If we never had first ladies before,I would say that maybe she's justified to be this "active," always causing rifts here and there...I can only say one thing- she has serious issues with her self-esteem,always wanting to be at the fore-front of major national issues. She'd better take simple advise and listen to her big uncle she has so insolently addressed- PEJ,consider being a woman first, then be our first lady!

Last bullet: I doubt that she can actually use all dt big big grammer dt her spokesman employed up there! Thank God she didn't comment herself sha! Mstcheeew!
Education / Re: July 10 Cult Attack In OAU, Ile-Ife by lupey: 8:47pm On Jul 10, 2013
Afam, those pics are for you wink unfortunately,I didn't witness the crisis.I'm there presently. I assure you that the school is in order and the present vc's tryin his best. The union hasn't been reinstated and aroism is still very much present altho there's a loss of that "professional touch" to it- the fore-fathers,having graduated.
Awo boiz are trying their best, although they have been reduced to jokers who just disrupt religious programs with snide comments(which I must admit, could be hilarious attimes). I for one,am happy without the union, having met and not enjoyed its reign. I was relieved when it was scrapped and I believe students wld tell u that the school has hardly had reasons to protest for any lags on the part of the school administration. All is well!

I rep OAU anyday, anytime, even though I didn't count myself lucky to be found there at first. Having experienced life in three Nigerian universities,I can boldly beat my chest and say that OAU has a way of making you struggle, but at the same time affords u d opportunity to discover yourself. The students are like, handpicked cos they are like-minded! Believe it or not,but there's something "spooky" about the school. And,its just unnatural to see a person who passes through the school that just doesn't change one way or the other. The religious-life of the school is outta dis world. That's the only skul I know of,where its fashionable to be a pastor. Right now, pastors are given more recognition than faculty presidents. Lol...sincerely,the school's awesome!

I really loved laylow's answers. They were pretty deep.nelly's answers though...lol. He has a lot going on up there. I think his answers show that he has a healthy self esteem. I think ekwah's answers were brilliant too, almost made me stop at his bio. Thank God I read further. Abpatrick's answer on his definition of a man blew my mind away. I think he did justice to all the questions, especially the last question. So,I vote abpatrick. smiley may "he" win!

Politics / Re: Boko Haram Leader Interogation Before Execution And Police Killing A Civilian by lupey: 1:21am On Jun 12, 2013
This is so wrong! Totally against the principle of legality and his fundamental human rights! The man was guilty quite alright but it wasn't for the police to extra-judicially kill him. Who does that He was probably going to be sentenced 2 death anyway, but he still shldnt have been killed without authority from a competent court with jurisdiction. Let's oppose extra-judicial killings,in every way we can!

Cipriani: How could a lady like this win Miss Nairaland. She aint beautiful at all, just manageable. Damn!!! This shows there are more ugly girls on this site and in Nigeria.

Scarcity of beautif girls is just not good for a country like this

I apologize that I don't meet ur standards, really! Please bear with me. Its just a 6-month reign. I'd be out before u know it! grin in the meantime though, *pops champagne* nairalanders, let's have unlimited fun, these six months. Cheers!!! grin kiss kiss *clink*

shymexx: Damn!!!! This thread is alive!! Anyway, let me do a little freestyle rap for the queen - victory for mama Africa!!!

Her name is lupey
And she's beauty redefined with a massive bootay
Quintessentially African in all departments not so'tay
The other contestants were a fiasco but she's the lupe
Batty so fat, it'll make you levitate
Spiritual feelings no need to meditate
Haters are gonna hate
But she gatts the crown already, so it's late
Stop the hate and just appreciate
She's the flower bomb
The definition of what black beauty should be

Imma have to borrow the chorus from "Cherry Wine" by Nas and Amy Winehouse(R.I.P doll, love you) for this. Shout outs to them!!!

Where is she, the woman who's just like me
I heard she was hiding somewhere I can’t see
Where is she, the woman who was just like me
Heard she was hiding somewhere I can’t see
And I’m alone and I realize that when I get home
I wanna go through my red and my cherry
Yes, I’m alone and I realize when I get home
I wanna go through my red and my cherry

Out, yo?

Lol...that's nice! Thankyou! grin cool

Good evening Nairalanders. Wow! I'm elated. Where do I start my thanks from? Naturally,I would start 4rm God. I owe him a lot. To my family and friends,I love you! Don't worry,I wouldn't type an epistle, and even if I do,please indulge me this one time. Nairalanders, you've shown me that seeing /meeting a person is immaterial to showing the person love. It all started like yesterday, a spur of the moment and a decision that was not even planned for. Today, you made it a reality. God bless you guys. To my campaign team,u rock! U are just a bunch of selfless people. You deserve this- kiss
My fellow contestants,I must say that each of you are so beautiful,u made my heart skip beats at each result-announcement. I couldn't help but notice and covet some of your characteristics. Oh,how I love graise's smile, and Nadia's cuteness is to die for. Ada's lips though! And sleekchic! Oh,Sleekchic's beauty! I count this a rare priviledge, cos truth be told u guys have it all! We are all queens in our various ways. Pls let's keep radiating our beauties cos we are strong women! cheesy
On a final note, this crown is dedicated, first to God and my rock of a mother.
God bless Nairaland! Goodnight!

Thanks for the votes nairalanders. I really appreciate u guys. I however apologize for the lengthy answers. I guess I poured it out as it came to mind. On a lighter note, lawyers are trained to write lengthy stuff,so pls 4give me. grin grin
Secondly, so my name is Tolu. Lol...that wasn't intended. In answer to that question,I asked a friend to send what she thought about me and I copied and pasted it directly. Well, doesn't matter! wink
Like sleekchick said,if I had to vote two extra people,it would definitely be sleek and graise...however,I'm allowed only one,and apparently every1's voting 'emselves so I vote 4 lupey! cheesy
Thanks again,guys!
