This was last year when I supported Pesiero to lead us M7even: In all sincerity I believe in Pesiero, I believe we stand a better chance with him leading us to the AFCON at least a semi-final spot is realizable. I'm rather happier we are not going into the tournament with self-overconfidence.
I had the same feeling of patience with the Super Falcons coach prior to their outstanding world cup campaign. The team will gel.. Even keshi's AFCON team did not gel until the do or die game we had against Ivory Coast. Luckily the Ivorian also had a poor goalkeeper in Barry. When u watch the goals he conceded against Nigeria in the quarter finals, if Uzoho conceded such we would have called for his head. So, I say every team is coming to win. And it is the team that just finds the blend that wins. Senegal at the last AFCON struggled throughout the group stage but won albeit via penalty kicks against Egypt we beat in our opening match. We are playing well, we are not just converting chances. And I say that with our attackers hitting the right tournament fever just like Odion Ighalo in 2019 we are on course for a good tournament. |

Marjoribanks: It is like saying they would crown Alvarez/Martinez the best player at the World Cup when Messi is more deserving? Blasphemy! Don't say this again! Nothing wrong with having a captain Fabio Cannavaro of Italy winning such after an impressive display for Italy when they won the World Cup. In fact Matarazzi his fellow defender was probably more outstanding than him. But winning as the captain for Ekong is deserved. Since we agreed that we played a defensive style of football. |

Carried us all the way to the finals! Golden ball might be Ekong's own. Except Osimhen scores for the win . |

Joezinho: Big ups to moffi. He was the first to take the pk and his calm demeanor should be studied.
Imagine missing the first pk. Respect to Terem. He took it like it was nothing. Man was very calm and composed and slotted it home very coolly. And after Aina missed his penalty kick, he showed true leadership by running to encourage him. I respect Moffi for what he did there. |

TheSuperNerd: Osimhen scored Nigeria's first goal at this Afcon and I think he will score Nigeria's last and decisive to lift the title. Maybe that is what destiny has for him.
Time will tell.
But he scores or not, Osimhen and Nigeria will be Champions. Maybe. He is a destiny child

Curtisaxel17: OGN reports Zaidu to be dropped "due to injury" . Aina to be played on the left and Osayi-Samuel on the right.
Guys, abeg how una see this one? I would have preferred a natural left footer on that LWB spot so our quality crosses can be assured. And Osayi hasn't really convinced me in this tournament o. Which kain mistake be this one? Aina himself should tell the coach to put him on the right, if he messes up today's game I will not spare him any tongue-lashing and invective remarks. He was jittery when he played against Guinea-Bissau on that wing. I hope he is able to cope even though he plays on the left for Nottingham forest. |

I understand he held N office under the Buhari administration as an adviser to the president on sport-related affairs. I believe he is a good lobbyist. For commentators, there are many Nigerians who could do it better to the ears of the listener. This is not a political affair where incompetence and subpar performance are celebrated. |

safarigirl: Guys, if we win this AFCON, we will match Ghana's 4 AFCONs and they will no longer be able to chat to us on that front. Lol for matching their AfCON trophy and not surpassing it. An AFCON trophy that they have last won in 1982. And we are just about equalling. Give the little country the flowers it deserve, I mean how could the likes of segun Odegbami, Christian Chukuwu, Steven Keshi, and JJ Okocha play so many years and still deliver only 3 AFCON for us. I feel we should easily be on 9 AFCON trophies by now. |

Imagine us bullying Ivory Coast and Cameroon in muscle plays. Even Semi Ajayi sef dun dey brutal with tackles and aerial battles. Na only Iwobi wey dey soft, others are ready to unalive an opponent 😂🤣😂🤣 I noticed this too, except Aribo , he still dey play like mummy's boy |

TheSuperNerd: My Moroccan boys have done themselves in. A shameful way to crash out. Hakimi penalty miss. Amrabat red card. That SA freekick.
You get to the WC Semis and can't get past the Afcon Round of 16.
Worst is you are being beaten by boys from Kuvuki land.
Afcon >>>> World Cup.
Argue with your laptop/phone screens. Lol South Africa very much played with the spirit of their leading Club, Mamelodi Sundowns, while Sundowns have mastered beating North Arfican clubsite like Raja Casablanca and their Egyptian counterparts. I guess this helps the national team translate and understand the north African teams as well. Not surprising why South Africa beat Egypt in 2019 at home, and then beating Morocco in Ivory coast again. |
