advanceDNA: She initially wanted to teach in the UK, so she requested for a NARIC Statement of Comparability which was issued by the UK Department for Education. But she wasn’t able to secure a teaching position. So now wants to try the Health and Care Work route. Do you advise she uses the old NARIC? Or should just request for a new one from ECCTIS? |

Hello Nairalanders. I need your input to help my Brother in a dilemma. He helped a friend with a loan to help fund his study in the U.K. 3 years down the line, the gentleman has refused to send even 50 pence to appease his poor soul. Is there an establishment we can report this to? As all diplomatic means has proved futile. I look forward to your expert guidance. |

Hardheolar: Hello. Don’t know much about your job but how will you show you are still in active employment? -Introductory letter -Contract or appointment letter -Payslips or Receipts -ID Card Also, no lump sums please, keep your account running if you can for sometime and if anything, write a good cover letter to explain your financial situation. You can purchase various investment policies if you have lump sums instead, at least it shows economic ties.(Worked for me and another nairalander also mentioned submitting investments ). Let your brother submit the following: -original guarantor`s form (Verpflichtungserklärung) issued by the Aliens Authority in Germany (signed by the inviting friend/ relative). -passport data page and German residence permit -proof of residence / “Meldebescheinigung” -proof of relationship: copy of birth certificate . 1 Share

Hardheolar: Great! But you mentioned that it will be your first time abroad right? So it will really help if you can get everything right so you get your visa on your first try. 1. How will you show proof of employment? 2. Can you reduce the 2 months to 2 weeks? And when you get your visa and travel and build history , then you can go for longer periods. 3. Just a suggestion but if your finances are intact it will help to use www.booking.com and get an affordable place to stay instead of your brother’s. (choose the pay at check in option) 4. So let’s come to your itinerary: then you can mention that you will spend say 2 days hangout your brother. 5. For the remaining 12 days. Check out the following links to help draft your itinerary: https://www.storiesbysoumya.com/10-days-in-germany-itinerary/ https://www.hostelworld.com/blog/50-things-to-do-for-free-in-europe/ 6. You can add other tourist places I have sent link above to fill your itinerary. Eg: I will spend a week in Germany , 3 days in France and 4 days in Italy feel free to tune it to your country of preference. Hope this helps! Feel free to get back with follow up questions. 1 Like |

I would like to answer two questions above. If you want to change your appointment date start from late 10 pm to 12 am and use Google Incognito. Also with ticket reservations, go to the airline of your choice eg KLM and choose the date you want to travel and then after entering your travel and personal details, proceed to the payment option then you choose “Pay at KLM office “, this option will let them reserve the ticket for you for 2 extra days. Alternatively, some airlines eg KLM, Air France, Emirates and Turkish Airlines have the “Hold My Fare” option. With this, your ticket will be reserved for 3 days for you, but this option comes at a small fee before it’s reserved for you. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Thank you @mialate. Actually my feeding is also covered so would you advise I book proper flight tickets with good refund policy to reduce my costing? Since the internship comes with some benefits , you may not require the same daily Living cost. You would however need to consider Flight expense and Feeding. You can request for an internship letter stating the benefits you would be assisted with. This would further reduce your costing. 1. You are an adult hence cant be sponsored .. |

PLEASE HELP!!! Hello Nairaland Gurus! I posted this on the Germany thread but haven’t received any helpful response yet as it not as active as this thread. Please help! I have been given an offer for an internship in Germany for the Summer. It comes with weekly stipends, accommodation and board. My worry now is my proof of funds. I work in the government sector and I have inflow here and there but I don’t think it is enough(per Germany’s daily requirements). So my question is apart from the Supporting documents from the German company: 1. Can my parents provide their bank statements to support me? Or 2. Can a relative in the Schengen region send me supporting documents? PS: I have travel history to the Schengen area, U.K. and the UAE.[/quote] |

Hello Everyone. Lengthy Post alert but will need your utmost input. So I got a U.S visitor visa refusal about 6 years ago and out of anger I tore my refusal note ( ignorance or misplaced anger ). Fast forward 2020 I have acquired travel history to U.K thrice , 2 Schengen countries and Dubai. With the above mentioned countries, I only acknowledged my previous U.S visa refusal without them requesting for the refusal note. I now want to do my PhD in Ireland and I noticed that I have to attach my U.S refusal note when applying for Study visa. Please has anyone experienced this before? Do I have to go the U.S embassy to request for a refusal note or let them liaise with their fellow Irish embassy on my behalf? Sorry for the lengthy post but I hope it makes sense and someone can come to my aid. |
