advanceDNA:

Can u explain What you mean by "for education" ??

She initially wanted to teach in the UK, so she requested for a NARIC Statement of Comparability which was issued by the UK Department for Education. But she wasn’t able to secure a teaching position.

So now wants to try the Health and Care Work route.

Do you advise she uses the old NARIC? Or should just request for a new one from ECCTIS?

I learnt this the very hard way..... lots of people are not grateful. You help them but they only thinking of their selfish ways. Even when they can pay back small small they rather keep it all

I don't think there any formal way to get it back than to learn never to do it again

We live and we learn!!! Thank you.

The only downside....... Lender would have to make a trip to the UK.......

When judgement is issued, hopefully borrower got funds to satisfy judgment or assets to be charged against (charging order).......

https://www.gov.uk/make-court-claim-for-money

The issuance of a summons, might shake debtor to engage.......

Unfortunately, this is the legal route I can advice........

NB: is debt under £10,0000........

Thank you so much.🙏🏾

I know, it's really sad. I have experienced the same myself, since then I have made a decision not to ever loan out my hard earned money.

I am sure he’s learned his lesson now as he refused to listen to me.

The money..going going going gone cry

Thank you for the laugh😂 but I don’t think he can let close to £5000 ‘go’ just like that.

Hello Nairalanders. I need your input to help my Brother in a dilemma.

He helped a friend with a loan to help fund his study in the U.K.

3 years down the line, the gentleman has refused to send even 50 pence to appease his poor soul.

Is there an establishment we can report this to? As all diplomatic means has proved futile.

I look forward to your expert guidance.

Hello everyone, please I need your advice and good counsel. Please I’m a first time applicant, I’m going for family visit and I’m thinking of applying for multiple entry visa. Please, as a first timer, what are my chances of having a multiple entry visa or I should just go for single entry?

Hi! Are you done applying now or you still need help?

You should not book any Flights till you get the visa.

Use your cover letter to explain the benefits and breakdowns so the visa officer can understand better.

Hi! Got the visa. Thank you

Thanks for your response and recommendations, will adjust accordingly.
- For the first one, Upwork only sends an email at then beginning of a new contract, don't know if that will suffice. I have attached a ss
- For the account statement, still don't know how best to go about it because I only withdraw the amount I need from my Payoneer account, pay it into my naira account after converting it. Will it be wise to pay in huge sum into the account right now or just let it be?
Need to add that my bro is the one financing this trip except the flight tickets.

Hello. Don’t know much about your job but how will you show you are still in active employment?
-Introductory letter
-Contract or appointment letter
-Payslips or Receipts
-ID Card

Also, no lump sums please, keep your account running if you can for sometime and if anything, write a good cover letter to explain your financial situation.

You can purchase various investment policies if you have lump sums instead, at least it shows economic ties.(Worked for me and another nairalander also mentioned submitting investments ).

Let your brother submit the following:
-original guarantor`s form (Verpflichtungserklärung) issued by the Aliens
Authority in Germany (signed by the inviting friend/ relative).
-passport data page and German residence permit
-proof of residence / “Meldebescheinigung”
-proof of relationship: copy of birth certificate .

I am a freelancer. I have clients I work with on Upwork

Great! But you mentioned that it will be your first time abroad right?
So it will really help if you can get everything right so you get your visa on your first try.

1. How will you show proof of employment?
2. Can you reduce the 2 months to 2 weeks? And when you get your visa and travel and build history , then you can go for longer periods.
3. Just a suggestion but if your finances are intact it will help to use www.booking.com and get an affordable place to stay instead of your brother’s. (choose the pay at check in option)
4. So let’s come to your itinerary:
then you can mention that you will spend say 2 days hangout your brother.
5. For the remaining 12 days. Check out the following links to help draft your itinerary:
https://www.storiesbysoumya.com/10-days-in-germany-itinerary/

https://www.hostelworld.com/blog/50-things-to-do-for-free-in-europe/
6. You can add other tourist places I have sent link above to fill your itinerary.
Eg: I will spend a week in Germany ,
3 days in France and 4 days in Italy feel free to tune it to your country of preference.

Hope this helps! Feel free to get back with follow up questions.

Thanks man. Did you use an itemized list for the travel itinerary? I am travelling for the first time to visit my brother, but don't know how to fill up my itinerary since I will mostly be with him for the 2 months. Any idea or suggestion?

I am a woman. First of all, if I was a consular I would wonder why you would want to spend 2 whole months with your brother.
No job? No family? No school?
Let’s tackle it from that angle please.

Thanks i have done that but still not getting the appointment date display

Hi! I just tried to look for an appointment for you on the German Embassy Nigeria website and they claim there are no appointments at this time.
Are you able to do walk in? Or a number you could call to make enquiries?

Hello.Sorry for that late reply. I got my visa today by using the “Hold My Fare” option .
I guess the Consulars know that reservations are not meant to last for long so it’s probably one of the documents they verify first.
I applied from Ghana though and it took 5 working days to get my visa.

Thanks for providing clarity on the reservation part. Since you won't know the status of your visa application till after 2 weeks, how does the 3 days "Hold My Fare" come to play?
Travel / Re: General German Business And Tourist Visas ONLY by Maame4U: 3:26pm On May 22, 2022
I would like to answer two questions above. If you want to change your appointment date start from late 10 pm to 12 am and use Google Incognito.

Also with ticket reservations, go to the airline of your choice eg KLM and choose the date you want to travel and then after entering your travel and personal details, proceed to the payment option then you choose “Pay at KLM office “, this option will let them reserve the ticket for you for 2 extra days.
Alternatively, some airlines eg KLM, Air France, Emirates and Turkish Airlines have the “Hold My Fare” option. With this, your ticket will be reserved for 3 days for you, but this option comes at a small fee before it’s reserved for you.

Thank you @mialate.
Actually my feeding is also covered so would you advise I book proper flight tickets with good refund policy to reduce my costing?

Since the internship comes with some benefits , you may not require the same daily Living cost. You would however need to consider Flight expense and Feeding.

You can request for an internship letter stating the benefits you would be assisted with. This would further reduce your costing.

1. You are an adult hence cant be sponsored ..

PLEASE HELP!!!
Hello Nairaland Gurus! I posted this on the Germany thread but haven’t received any helpful response yet as it not as active as this thread. Please help!

I have been given an offer for an internship in Germany for the Summer.

It comes with weekly stipends, accommodation and board.

My worry now is my proof of funds. I work in the government sector and I have inflow here and there but I don’t think it is enough(per Germany’s daily requirements).

So my question is apart from the Supporting documents from the German company:
1. Can my parents provide their bank statements to support me? Or
2. Can a relative in the Schengen region send me supporting documents?

PS: I have travel history to the Schengen area, U.K. and the UAE.[/quote]

I had a refusal for both the UK and USA and didn't have the refusal letters at the time but I wrote a letter explaining it and also attached my application details like the appointment confirmation page; you know the one that has your reference number and stuff?

I think I can trace my appointment confirmation page from my email. I will make sure I write an explanation letter as well.
Thank you and warm regards!

Hello Everyone. Lengthy Post alert but will need your utmost input.

So I got a U.S visitor visa refusal about 6 years ago and out of anger I tore my refusal note ( ignorance or misplaced anger ).
Fast forward 2020 I have acquired travel history to U.K thrice , 2 Schengen countries and Dubai.

With the above mentioned countries, I only acknowledged my previous U.S visa refusal without them requesting for the refusal note.
I now want to do my PhD in Ireland and I noticed that I have to attach my U.S refusal note when applying for Study visa.
Please has anyone experienced this before? Do I have to go the U.S embassy to request for a refusal note or let them liaise with their fellow Irish embassy on my behalf?
Sorry for the lengthy post but I hope it makes sense and someone can come to my aid.
