Hello house I applied for visa yesterday, my appointment is on Wednesday. While filling the forms, there were questions about if one had travelled out before, I had UAE, Kenya & Tanzania stamps on my old passport so I answered Yes. Is it necessary to upload visa/stamped pages of the old passport for tls.

Out of the 3m in your account, only 2m is valid for maintenance funds evidence since that's the least balance over 28 days. Adding that to your dad's fund makes almost 8.9m which is more than needed, so you're good to go
Olinga:
Good day everybody.

Please, my total payable tuition fee is £16,950. I got discount of £4,000 and I have paid £7,500 so far, leaving me with a balance of £5,450 payable, my school is located outside London £1023 x 9 = £9207.
A total of £14,657 is needed as POF for me. Using oanda’s exchange rate is will be needing NGN7,415,410

My dad is my sponsor and he has NGN6,954,930
I have about NGN3,000,000 in my personal account, which makes up the POF.
Now the issue is in my account I have withdrawn and deposited funds in it since the past 28days but it has never gone below NGN2,000,000. To be clearer in the last 28days I started with an opening balance of NGN7,000,000 but right now I have about NGN3,000,000.

Please will the inconsistencies in my account be an issue for visa purposes.

In essence, everyone should be very aware of what they are getting into.
toyclicks:
Hi Fam.

Wow!
Good to drop in here as a testifier to this place.
Hope y'all doing fine.

Ok so....quick one. Let me share my experiences so far
I now understand why ppl abroad find it difficult to have time. You almost have to plan your breath. Time is really a scarce commodity here. I don't know how all the good ppl here @justwise, @mimilyrics, @stenon et all. I don't know how you find time for this forum ooo. You were and are still a blessing. Whatever way you have been able to keep squeezing out the time to help ppl here, I would say its worth every part of it. Being a part if so many ppl's life journey and being a blessing to them is worth all the effort. So pls as God helps you, don't get tired.

Now....let me say this bitter truth. A bitter truth that ppl on this forum have quarrelled with Justwise for saying. This ppl included me.

This is not the best time to come to the Uk..
IOW, if you have the means to still chill in Nigeria for 6-12months, sadly, I would advise you to do so.

However, if you want to come and join us to whether this terrible tough period, I am not discouraging you. You are welcome.

Let he explain a bit. If your aim is really studying, don't come right now, else you won't get value for your money. The pandemic has really messed things up. The online class is BS. Even the schools don't know how to handle the situation yet. One other major thing is that networking is difficult. In 6 weeks I only had a class meeting once. Till now I only met one of my senior colleagues since I've been here. No one to come to your aid. You are all by yourself. Everyone is trying hard to survive. Everyone is really busy. No one has your time. No one is available to put you through things. This is when you will value trivial things like seeing your colleagues and lecturer to chat and discuss, holding physical meetings. Believe me, you can't fathom how much frustration this can be, esp when we are talking about something that involves more or less the biggest investment of your life yet. This new way of life has affected many things and not everyone is able to adjust to it.

Also, don't think the lecturers are available to help you. They are not available to "babysit" anybody. They expect at the masters level that you are really cooked and there are many things you are expected to know. Unfortunately for those of us coming from a place like Nigeria, believe me, we are really undercooked. Believe me, a primary school kid here will do much better than you. One of my coursemates confessed to me that it was her kids that helped her with her coursework when she couldn't get a hang of it. Her kids were born and grown here. So you get what I mean. It's so easy for them to flow. Long and short, there is so much catching up for you to do in order to come up to the same level with these ppl.
...And yes, ppl are really getting stranded. I already know ppl whom we moved together from this thread and left with the hope that they can hustle it out. They are getting stranded. Pls if you are coming at this period, you are better off with as much buffer finances as possible.

As regards jobs. There are jobs and there are no jobs. What do I mean? Jobs have really been reduced cos of the pandemic. However there are still some kind of jobs in some remote areas far from town. Transport cost on the long run might take a big chunk of the pay(like 30%). The distance is much( to is like 2½ hrs. Making 5hrs round trip for your job commute) hope you can understand now. The jobs are simply available there cos the location is far from availability of labor. So you count your cost.

I am just taking time to explain all these so you understand my reason for advising to chill a bit if you can

However, for all the ppl like me wet naija don tire. Make una dey come ooo abeg. We go rough am. We go survive.

I hope my msg is not all too negative. But I think it will be of good to you if you get the true and clear picture of things so you can make informed decisions.

I wish us all the best we can be.

Cheers to y'all.
I hope to share more and sweeter experiences later

Yes I have. That paga verve you're trying to use has been stated here severally to be a landmine... For their kyc 3, make sure you input on your paga account exactly the address on your utility bill,
then call them
GHJOE:

Have you been able to finish the payment with Paga?.. I have been trying to make payment for my dependent since yesterday, it’s not going through...

I used the Paga verve for mine, it’s isn’t going again, and I tried to upgrade my Paga wallet to KYC 3 since ytday I haven’t gotten confirmation from them..

Pls I need help, what might be going on?

After paying ihs with paga, i was just glued to my chair transfixed when I didn't see the paga option on the payment for visa page... i came online & the first thing I see is your comment ... so many thanks to you also
whitley:
I really appreciate your help fam, I used the paga for both my IHS and Visa, #374k and #183.33k for the both respectively , for paying with Paga wallet with for your visa fee, when you get to tge page there will not be an option for paga, so click on Visa, when the page loads, don't put any card detail's, just lock for a back button on that page click on it, it takes you to a page where you have Paga. It was quite fast ...its to pray for visa now o

IOM is for medicals, not biometrics. If you're in lagos, you can visit the place... at least they owe you an explanation for not responding to your mails, but if your school has a country rep, explain the situation to him/her, he/she might be of help

An advice to all those finding it difficult to get an earlier TB appointment date, speak with your school's country reps, they just might be able to help. I found out some of these reps have contacts at IOM. So shoot your shot but be sensible about it.

As Cyberknight said, you still have time. Start running your account immediately if you haven't done that. Also sort out your TB test appointment immediately... Eventually, worst case scenario is you using Priority application for visa

Yes she pays 11,500 if paying full tuition as the offer states.

Her mom can sponsor her & she can also have the funds in her account.

She should also consider other schools as well instead of limiting herself to Bedfordshire only
Ultra1987:
hello justwise and co

thanks for all you have been doing and I need your help
I am asking on behalf of a friend.

so my friend just got an admission in the university of Bedfordshire to start in march 2021. The fees is £13000.
Below was written on the offer letter:

Scholarship and discount information:
Full-time Postgraduate and Undergraduate students will receive a special Vice Chancellor's Scholarship of £1,000. The
Vice Chancellor's Scholarship will apply to the first year of study only.
You may also be entitled to a tuition fee discount of £500 on full payment of the published fee before or at registration.

I want to understand that this means that if she pays her full fees from Nigeria she gets £1500 discount and would be paying £11,500?

we contacted the school to make it clear but they keep referring us to the conditional offer

my second question is that her mum is her sponsor, she is the only child. but she herself has a job and a 5 year working experience and has travelled to the Uk and back on a tourist visa. Would it be better for her mum to transfer all the funds needed for fees and maintenance to her account so that every documentation would carry her name instead of her mum to avoid long explanations or would it better she uses her mum account for everything?

please what are your thoughts? Thank you

If you have contact of a trusted BDC, sell your funds at black market rate, and use your naira account for Form A. Pls note that I said trusted Bdc.

If you still feel like paying directly from your dom account, visit another branch to confirm what the first branch staff said cos I was actually told by my branch to pay from my dom account but I insisted on form A
anthonanik:
I will have to convert my dollar to Naira and it may take time or bank might not provide good exchange rate.

Do you have any idea how to go about it?

I tried doing it now with laptop, it went through just that I'm having token to complete the transaction. I be going to the bank on Monday to get soft token from them and ATM card for online payment option which the accept as well

you actually gain by using form A, the rate is better. I paid my deposit through Access & I was debited in a week.
anthonanik:
Good evening gurus in the house.

I'm unable to make tuition deposit using my domiciliary account(us dollar) to teesside university account(pounds)

I'm using Access Bank domiciliary account and I asked them before funding the account and I was told that I can use it.

Now they r telling to convert my money to Naira and use form A for the transaction.

I tried using my access more app but once I get to making payment,it will include offshore charge and other charges like VAT which I agreed to pay but later it will say, you are not allowed to transfer. Meanwhile access transfer limit is 5k per day.

Please guys anyway around it

1. Make your own rule and be the law, what works for others, might not works for you.
2. That people want you to succeed doesn't mean their advice is the best for you.
3. Dream and dream big, as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. There's power in dreams that drive us.
4. Don't be "Jesus" for anybody, you're not here to die for people.
5. Believe in something, even if it's in sand or yourself, there's power in belief, it works most of the time.
6. Nobody loves you more than yourself, not even "God", if your doubt, ask "Him" to trade place with you.
7. You're just another being, that is, don't ever think you're special, like specially created by "God", nah, you'll be shocked when things stop/don't go your way.
8. Life is not fair, that you're poor today doesn't mean you'll be rich tomorrow.
9. Enjoy your life while you can, it's the only thing you have power over.
10. Grace and Luck is REAL.

Your point number 6 is warped. God actually loves you more than you love yourself.

He already traded places with you when He came to the world in the flesh as Jesus Christ and died for your sins.

Jesus lived poor even though He was rich so that we through His poverty might be rich.

God bless you.

I wanted to say may God bless you, but I realize your entire generation should be blessed. So may God bless you and your entire generation.

Anyone who desires to immigrate to the US and can do so LEGALLY has a great chance of becoming whatever they want to be (with God's grace).

Point to note: If you are narrow minded, America can only do little or nothing to help you.

TheNaijanBlog:

This is a very HUGE lie!!!! America is one of the very few countries where an immigrant can become a millionaire/billionaire, all you need to do is have great ideas, work very HARD within the legal limit and you will be rewarded- that is what is called the American dream, that attracts many smart immigrants.

Nigeria?!!! Really??!! Where you need to know who is who? Dangote?! He was a freaking Dantata/Dangote dynasty!!! Check out all the billionaires in Nigeria they were all children with CONNECTIONS! Otedola ( his father was Pa Michael Otedola). Whilein America you will hear of so many billionaires where they started their business from their garage/basement all they had was a dream and a vision.

There are many Nigerians that have become millionaires here in the US with hardwork and a dream no need to know anybody. Very very FEW people are billionaires, it is not easy being one. Unless you are referring to fraud!!

OP, unless you want to go the route of fraud, if have great idea and dreams and you work very hard, America/Canada is the best place to achieve those dreams. As long as you are legal, you have an idea that people will pay money for, you work hard you will make your money. No need to have connections, no government bureaucract frustrating you with bribe, no settling, no staff stealing your money ( even if they do, the rule of law will get you justice) reliable amenities ( electricity, internet, transport, postal office) to help reduce your over head cost. Nigeria is the worst place to do business, that is why many companies left wnd went to Egypt or South Africa.

The message is not for someone like you because you know what you are doing. You are living life intentionally, which is the best. Even rich peeps dey frustrated for Naija. I once travelled by road from Nairobi to Dar es Salaam, and I was dazed by their amazing road networks. To even travel by road from Lagos to Ibadan na so tey prayer go full mouth. I'm with you bro, but you see, everything should be done prayerfully & proper consideration. Please folks should consider some of these things before relocating:

1. Relocating overseas should not be just because of your poor condition. Even if you're very comfortable but don't like the state of the country, pls move. There was someone close to me who was earning on average 6 million Naira a month in Nigeria, and he felt very rich & saw no reason in living overseas, but I always told him his narrow minded views were because he had never left Nigeria. The following year he visited the US, & came back screaming about what he had missed all his life. That same year he visited the US again, came back and visited Canada also. As I speak with you he had relocated to the US with his family.

2. I have noticed that many people relocate outside the country to start running jobs they wouldn't go near in Nigeria, you know why? It's because there's nothing to be ashamed of in another man's country. My honest advise to such people is that if you're based in Lagos and ashamed to start a certain kind of SME, why not go to Abuja or Calabar or Osogbo where no one knows you.

3. What are your life priorities? Are you seeking a place wey be say women wey them problem dey for them back grin go dey love you just cos u be Nigerian, then go to Kenya & Rwanda, you would never waste your time on Lagos girls again. Every where you go in Kenya it's bumbum & waist left, right & centre. So your East African wife is most likely gonna be more dark skinned, beautiful, humble & loving than your Nigerian wife. But then I think there is a large number of very beautiful women in Eastern Nigeria also.

4. Don't be desperate, do your research very well. This will help you avoid regrets.

5. Think about the future. Is that country going to be a stepping stone or your final destination, because if you start a business somewhere, you are likely to stay there for a very long time. So is that country worth the next 20 years? If not, have a rethink.

6. I don't blame people saying if they relocate they don't want to ever hear about Nigeria again, na the shit wey plenty for Naija cause am. But think about your future status in the countries available to you. It's very difficult to be a citizen in Kenya, even with marriage. It's easy in Botswana, but no dual citizenship so you have to renounce Nigeria. You can never become a citizen in UAE even if you live there for 40 years, I've been to UAE twice & as much as I love Dubai I won't want to relocate there. I strongly urge you not to relocate to a country where you can never become a citizen.

7. Don't trust everything you read on forums, including this my long sermon grin. Everybody's case is different. What is good for me might be bad for you & vice versa.

8. Despite the fact that I plan to relocate to another country. I do not hate Nigeria. Trust me I have lost a lot in this country: I've lost a lot of money, I've lost in business, I've lost in love & emotions, I've lost someone very dear to me because of the evil hearts of folks here. You see, if you wear the garment of your hatred for your people & country, it would follow you everywhere you go. It's one of the reasons there are unsuccessful immigrants in places like Canada & the US. Your attitude determines your altitude.

9. As much as you might not believe in God, be open minded, and he will guide you.

10. Don't forget n* 9.

Ugosample:

Okay o

Ease of doing business in Nigeria is much more difficult

Many of my cousins, or will i call them my people, who are learning work are taking their settlement to other African countries to establish

The only thing that should make you leave for another African country is

If you have already been offered a high paying job in a good corporation

or

If you are business savvy and have enough capital to push it through

Nigeria is not just worth it at the moment

Ok bro. Thanks alot.

Unfortunately non, you be concern with preparing a good application and not about any embassy that favours Nigerians because there is no such embassy, as long as you can afford the trip and state clearly why you are visiting that country your chances of getting a visa is high.

Thanks Justwise,

Our plan is to visit france, spain & switzerland.
But we dont mind entering first through a country outside the stated three, all we want is a country with an embassy favourable to Nigerians. I just read on the VFS website that the Italian embassy in Nigeria no longer issue tourist visas.
justwise:

That amount is reasonable if you plan your trip well.

Make up your mind about the particular country you want to visit with your family and search for major tourist attraction for families in that country then outline your budget for the trip.

Don't over budget because it will not impress any embassy.

What precautions should applicants take?

Flew Kenya Air to Dubai in februrary. Nice flight & crew. You get 3 pieces of baggage i.e hand luggage & two 24kg luggages. So for luggage I give it to Kenya Airways. You can even over pack your hand luggage. But for food you garra eat well b4 you board cos their inflight food is average.

Another thing is the connecting flight from Nairobi to your final destination is always better by far than the flight from lagos to Nairobi (No personalised inflight entertainment from lagos to Nairobi).

Rwandair, mmmh, very stingy with baggage allowance. Your hand luggage must not exceed 10kg by a gramme. I flew Rwandair on the 7th of this month to Kenya & i had my hand luggage at 12kg which was my only luggage, and they had issues with it at check-in but finally allowed it since that was my only luggage. The food was far better than Kenya Air. No personalised inflight entertainment.

Kigali and Nairobi airports are great.
