Business / Re: Receiving Payment In Kenya by macbernard: 8:36pm On Aug 30, 2017
Hi Pavore, tanx for your response. What card can be used to verify kenyan paypal. Pls let me know if i can reach you through email on your profile.
Pavore9:

It is the Kenyan Revenue Authority that issues the Tax pin, getting the pin is not an issue but opening an account with tourist visa has been recently.

For receiving any PayPal payment I always use a Kenyan friend in the U. S, she receives it and sends it directly to my Mpesa line via World remit or sendwave at a far better ratet than Equity bank or PayPal exchangers in Kenya offers.
Business / Re: Receiving Payment In Kenya by macbernard: 8:22pm On Aug 30, 2017
Tanx bro, but how does the Nigerians in Nairobi go about it. Even if Equity bank is out of the equation, can I open an ordinary savings account with a card that can be used for Paypal registration. I plan to come around in like 2 weeks time.

GERALD710:

KRA does not issue PINS to people on tourist visas. You have to be a Kenyan citizen,a resident or a registered refugee with an alien card.
Equity Bank no longer accepts Tourist Visas and passports as means of opening a bank account(East Africans are exempt from this) I doubt if Nigerian students here can do it here anymore though in the past it was possible. And Equity does biometric verification of its customers when you go and change a card.
In addition, if you log into a Paypal Kenya account in Nigeria, I have a feeling that it may be flagged and shut down.
Business / Re: Receiving Payment In Kenya by macbernard: 10:10pm On Aug 29, 2017
Bro I so much appreciate your feedback.
I have used payoneer & skrill alot prior to now, but i currently work with a site that pays with only paypal. What is the requirement of getting the tax pin & how can i go about the account opening since Equity is the only bank for withdrawal. Pls bro if there are other alternatives, kindly let me know. Tanx.
Pavore9:

You can't open an account with Equity bank with your tourist visa and one is required across all Kenyan Banks to have a Tax pin to open an account. Though you can still open a PayPal account while visiting and receive money through it but personally I no longer bother myself with my PayPal account as I have alternatives for receiving money.
Business / Re: Receiving Payment In Kenya by macbernard: 6:14pm On Aug 29, 2017
Hi Pavore, Pls i need your advise.

I'm planning to visit Kenya & i want to open a paypal account during my visit. Pls how can i open an account at Equity bank as a visitor.

Thanks bro

Pavore9:
if you run an online business and you need to receive payment in Kenya, even as low as 1,000 Kenyan shillings do send a mail to koboideas@gmail.com so we work out the receipt and transfer to Nigeria.

Travel / Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by macbernard: 7:15am On Apr 18, 2016
bellong:
This thread aims at providing guide, instructions and genuine advice to prospective applicants for Australian permanent resident visa through the skilled migration program. For those looking to apply for study (student) visa, the link below will be more useful as it has enough information about applying to schools and Australian study visa. This new thread is specifically for permanent resident visa application.

Prospective students, follow this thread.. https://www.nairaland.com/2338380/general-australian-visa-enquiries-part

By way of introduction, Australia has a number of pathway to getting permanent resident status but the easiest is the skilled migration. Skilled migration, as the name implies means opportunity for both "academic skilled and technical skilled" people to migrate legally and permanently to Australia. The program was originally designed to address skill shortages in the country generally, so they came up with a system that attracts people who can meet the minimum requirements.

There are five visa subclass in the skilled migration pathway namely Subclass 189 (Independent), 190 (State sponsored), 489 (Regional/nominated provisional), 132 (Business Talent) and 188 (Business Innovation and investment, provisional). I will be talking strictly on the first three. See link for Australian Border Force's website for the skilled migration.. http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Work/Skil

The three visa subclass, 189, 190 and 489 are for professionals, technologists, artisans and trade workers who can meet up to minimum of 60points for 189, 55points for 190 and 50 points for 489. I will explain how the points are calculated, occupation list and application in the subsequent posts.

@bellong, I must say this is one nice initiative... kudos

@Lami, pls note that SVP rules state that you must spend at least 6 month in the course that gave you the SVP privilege in a packaged offer. In your case, what that means is by getting that visa, you cant opt out of the program till after the first semester of your Advanced Diploma course... Pls go through the SVP rules again.

By the way, why would you want to spend{time is money} a whooping 3.5 years on TAFE.... why not look for a 1 yr or 18 months program... Yes, your ultimate consideration is PR after 2 yrs, but that doesnt mean you have to be in one program for those 2 yrs i.e you can get into another program after a year or so in TAFE. Some thing like 1 yr TAFE + 1 yr Masters{get the M.Sc admission with ur Nigerian degree}.
laminaria:
pls house come to my aid on this issue.
Schools A : cert iv in disability (39weeks)+ diploma in disability (70weeks) + adv.diploma in disability (66weeks) altogether making it 3.5 yrs for d whole course
Note certificate course is a prerequisite to diploma n diploma is prerequisite to adv. dip to qualify for SVP
School B: diploma of early childhood education care (78weeks) + adv.diploma in community sector management(26weeks) altogether 2yrs ..SVP too.
payment for d tuition for both is almost d same except that d oshc of school A will be much more than B cos of duration of study...school A course is much in line wit former course i was denied visa wit (aged care+nursing)
my question...
(1) am worry cos of 3.5yrs for tafe course whc is also bsc duration as well, won't Pretoria tink i shud opted for degree?
(2) completion of cert n diploma will already qualify for two yrs post study visa/ PR...can I bone d adv.dip then
CC missmakoye, futuredon,surveyor1,Mrnilobrawn....pls wanna make my final moves this week....both have Oct intake too.

Thanks Bellong.

But what about the fact that IJMB has no transcript...just grades {A,B,C,D & E}... ?
bellong:

Bjayzeez is a geologist.

Include your IJMB result in the package and explain why it took you three years. However, the core biochemistry courses start from part. The IJMB result will cover the basic sciences for year one.
