What Nigerian men don't understand is that if you promise to marry a woman and you don't, the woman can sue you to court.

In Nigeria, a promise to marry is a legally binding contract and contrary to what you think, she can institute a civil suit against you, win and be awarded monetary damages.

But how it became a criminal case here is somehow maybe due to the financial investment involved

This is simple... The casket owner was beside you when you made the mistake, if its true show him/her the error, he/she should have sympathy and give you the casket on agreement you pay on an aforementioned date...
After burial you'd realise the money and pay. It's that simple

He married an Ikwerre woman. I was in Choba, Port Harcourt sometime ago when he did his traditional wedding (wedded many years after having children) at Choba Primary School (Close to Alikor Estate).

I am still wondering when chicken became the official meat of choice for Christmas because as far as I can remember, goats and turkey were the standard then and chicken was a poor man's choice.

As it is at the moment, chicken has overtaken them all and given turkey and goats a run for the money.
