One happy driver registered this morning.

You stand to benefit greatly if you register early.

The other drivers would be learners when you are already balling. grin grin grin

Trust me, this app is getting mad love in other countries. Set to take Nigeria by storm. Contact me via WhatsApp on 08085404500, follow the basic process, let's all make some cool money together. The app is live already but official launch would set the city buzzing, you need to be onboard ahead of that.

Those stats are laughable. How do I know? Lagos doesn't have 95% literacy rate.

I don't know about Imo but if I extrapolate, that statistic would be unreliable too.

Business / Open Letter To E-hailing/mobile Taxi Drivers In Nigeria by maclatunji: 11:58am On May 21, 2019
Dear E-Hailing/Mobile Taxi Driver,

I am not here to bash the companies you have been driving for using their apps (there are so many) or try to convince you that they have not added value to your life. However, the truth is that you can actually make more money with the same resources at your disposal. I have personally witnessed many drivers complaining that it is difficult to make a success of using these platforms.

Not to worry any more. There is a new international ride-hailing app that has silently entered Nigeria and I am recruiting drivers for them. There are a lot of things that makes them different from the others you are already used to.

First, there is the ability to see where the rider is actually heading to before accepting the order. Better still, you actually know the exact amount the rider is going to pay. It gives you the opportunity to plan your business and strategy effectively to earn more.

Perhaps what you will love most about this new app is that our percentages are so friendly to you. We'll charge nothing for the first 6 months and after that, our rates are still considerably less than 10% .

Don't let me tell you too many stories, these are the things we require from you:

✓Car model must be 2000 or newer
✓Car must have Lagos vehicle licence
✓Driving with Uber or Bolt(Taxify) with an active profile OR Has a PCC specimen documents ( Police Character Certificate).
Photo information required:
1. Photo of the vehicle from the front.
2. Photo of Lagos vehicle licence.
3. Photo of driver's licence (front side).
4. Photo of you holding your driver's licence.
5. Screenshot of Uber or Taxify profile OR Photo of police character certificate.

We accept, hatchbacks (wagons) and even Toyota Sienna (or similar vehicles) if year requirement is met.

What are you waiting for? Contact me via WhatsApp on 08085404500 if interested. Please be business-like when communicating. Don't just type "Hello".

Type "Hello, my name is John and I am a Uber/Taxify driver interested in your new ride-sharing app".

We are starting from Lagos, other Nigerian cities coming soon.

Let's do mutually beneficial business together.

To our success, Godwilling.

I will repeat what the guy said above "proliferation of ehailing companies can never be to the advantage of drivers" AND THAT'S FACT!

Only riders will benefit from it. The seemingly juicy package is just to win drivers over. Once they gain ground... You know the rest.

No percentage for the app for first 6 months and less than 10% after that. Sounds good to you?

Same goes for drivers, drivers won't undestand how car owners borrow, sweat ,sacrifice just to buy a car.. And Nigerian banks are not loan friendly to small business owners.. And the high rate on loans basically kills a business.. Than you have some not all ,crazy driver thinking because you gave him a car to drive, he is now doing the owner a favor, better yet driver drives and damages the car. Dumps it for owner
Seriously if drivers can just walk into a bank and ask for a loan .. Especially the conditions you have to go through.. Only if drivers can experience that ..

Everybody blaming everybody.

But seriously what went wrong? Is uber /taxify trying to enslave us? Ok we agree they reduced fares in order to get more riders, what happened to surge on Mondays and evenings? The strike is inevitable.

Nah, no need to strike, find alternative.

Most riders are price sensitive, they compare between uber , bolt and the multitude of other ehailing apps to see the lowest rate.
This is why it is in drivers best interest to to support only 2 or 3 ehailing apps, proliferation of ehailing companies can never be to the advantage of drivers.
Most drivers who refused to pay for Bolt shield is because they have uber, remove uber out of the equation, then they would be at the mercy of Bolt and some poorly setup alternative ehailing apps companies.
I hope for the sake of those who are yet to perfect Plan B that uber Nigeria does not pull out.

I am a rider and I am price sensitive. I disagree that Nigeria would suffer without Uber though. In fact, I am currently recruiting Uber and Taxify drivers for an international ride-hailing app that has silently entered Nigeria. It has a much more juicy package for both drivers and riders.

Drivers with cars registered in Lagos interested can contact me via WhatsApp on 08085404500. Please don't just type "Hello".

Introduce yourself like this: "Hello, I am John and I am an Uber driver interested in your new ride-hailing app."

I would respond accordingly in due course Godwilling.

You don't have to be frustrated by one company, diversify and see what works best for you.

Other cities in Nigeria coming soon Godwilling.

In states where millions of votes are at stake, Atiku supporters are quoting results from polling units not up to 0.5% of votes to console themselves that their candidate is in the lead.

The problem with perpetuating such falsehood is that it would be more difficult for them to accept their impending defeat.

Stop the falsehood and patiently await official results, stop setting yourselves for another 4 years of self-delusion.

Phones / Why Nigerian Twitter Influencers' Accounts Were Suspended And How To Avoid It by maclatunji: 2:41pm On Feb 19, 2019
Last Friday, we received the news that some Nigerian Twitter influencer accounts including:

Badmus Hakeem (Tweets @Bhadoosky), Jokunle (@Jokunle), Ani Nomso (@ani_nomso), Shawnife (@Shawnife_), Official Bmax (@OfficialBmax), Uche Kush (@UcheKush_), Lazy Writa (@LazyWrita), Rouvafe (@Rouvafe), Abdulaxis (@iam_abdulaxis), Switchme, Enekem Greg (@EnekemGreg) had been suspended by Twitter and have remained so.

For a few years, these individuals have managed to gain a sizeable following on the microblogging platform and used it to promote products, services, #tags as well as events and politicians. They obviously formed a clique and sometimes boasted of their influence.

So, how can you avoid falling into this situation of losing a huge following and influence on Twitter? The first thing is to understand why Twitter sometimes suspends accounts. The company has its official reasons. They are:

Spam: Most of the accounts we suspend are suspended because they are spammy, or just plain fake, and they introduce security risks for Twitter and all of our users. These types of accounts are against our Twitter Rules. Unfortunately, sometimes a real person’s account gets suspended by mistake, and in those cases we’ll work with the person to make sure the account is unsuspended.

Account security at risk: If we suspect an account has been hacked or compromised, we may suspend it until it can be secured and restored to the account owner in order to reduce potentially malicious activity caused by the compromise.

Abusive Tweets or behavior: We may suspend an account if it has been reported to us as violating our Rules surrounding abuse. When an account engages in abusive behavior, like sending threats to others or impersonating other accounts, we may suspend it temporarily or, in some cases, permanently.
These reasons are valid but there are also some reasons that we may term 'unofficial', they include:

Using Your Twitter Account to Promote Paid Content Too Many Times: This might seem had to believe but the essence of Twitter is for you to share interests with other users. Where you turn your account to a promotional tool, the company would definitely notice the trend and might decide it wants advertisers to do business with it directly.

Using Your Twitter Account to Try to Swing Elections: Following the Cambridge Analytica scandal pertaining to the 2015 presidential election in Nigeria, the top three Social Media companies, Facebook, Google and Twitter came under a lot of public scrutiny, this seems to have been why the Nigerian Twitter influencers had their accounts suspended. They were beginning to channel the discourse on the platform into anything anybody willing to pay them would wanted. This is now seen as election manipulation, because a party can just pay its way into confusing voters to vote for it with fake news and misinformation.

So if you don't want Twitter to suspend your account, build your following organically and probably channel them to a blog if you want to commercialize your following safely. Japhet Omojuwa has done this and managed to get the Twitter hammer fall on him.

Contact the hall and ask for a date much further than the election period to reschedule to.

Leverage on social media to inform extended family and friends of the change.

If they are Muslims, have a small Aqidu Nikkah on Sunday, next week with the Walimah at the postponed date.

We have been blessed with the ability to think for a reason.
