@bolded, never stop praying for a sinner. He/she doesn't have the power to stop sin nor start living right. Only God has the power to turn their lives around. Your prayer could make God begin a work of salvation in their lives. My life is a living witness to the power of praying for a sinner's conversion. I might be wrong but I don't believe there's anything like matured-christian. We aren't more powerful than the devil no matter how many years of Christianity we've practiced. Its just the Holy Spirit that has been preserving us. If Judas Iscariot who lived with and ate with Jesus and saw all the works Jesus did, could still fall prey to Satan, how much more someone who only heard and read it in a book? If Adam and Eve who saw, sat with and communicated with God still fell, how much mor someone living in these times of moral degradation? Always remember God's word <I'll be gracious to whom I'll be gracious and I will show mercy to whom I will show mercy >. Always ask God for mercy and grace to press on in Holiness and Righteousness till the very end.

I have shared to an extent. This was meant to provoke people to seek God with accurate prophecies. Even though I remained faceless, I believe some people here and even in my thread have been provoked in their inner man to seek God for themselves. And this is my joy.. There will arise many who will move with such prophetic power and cause a great revival. Many like me, will be faceless. Even in crusade/revival grounds. So far, my role here has come to an end.

Nope bro. Don't misunderstand me. I have my concerns as a young believer in Christ. I used to have a lot of friends when I was still living an immoral lifestyle. However since I decided to become a true believer, I found out that I stopped having friends. I just didn't want to be around people whose association will quench my appetite for God. Meanwhile, deep inside me I desire to have close friends. So, this is what prompted my question. You currently live in a society (NY) which as portrayed by the media, has a low/no- God mentality and you've lived in one that has toxic church-goers (9ja). You are within my age bracket. So, how have you as a young man, been able to overcome the current youthful pressures amidst societal decadence and continued your growth in Christ?

Whether pre-tribulation, in-between tribulation or post-tribulation rapture, the most important thing is that you should always be ready. Always pray for grace to be ready whenever your time comes, if Jesus tarries.

I've had to dissociate myself from a lot of "friends" the moment I chose to start walking with God cause I knew what remaining in such company would cause me. Even the few currently in my life, I'm still seeking for ways to dissociate from cause they came into my life when I was still immoral and being with them presents temptations for immorality. However, it seems very lonely being without friends. Through HIS guidance, I'm being made aware of the things in my life that disrupts his presence in my life. I now enjoy reading Christian books (I never read any) and the Bible. I now enjoy listening to select gospel music and Bible teachings (I never listened to any before) and a whole lot of transformations are going on in my life.

I didn't have a good background, as at when i received the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues, i thought speaking in tongues was demonic, i was even struggling hard to stop it, because whenever i wanted to pray in english, tongues will just come out of my mouth. So, i felt it was the devil trying to stop me from praying. There was no one to talk to, i was even scared of praying in front of my family, so that it won't happen in their presence. You might not believe it but it was strictly the Holy Spirit thay directed me to sermons and books. I didn't even know such things existed. I didn't even know such pastors existed. I just found myself downloading sermons on the Holy Spirit by Selman one day and Kenneth Hagin books online. That was where i learnt many things like what tongues are, scriptures backing them, how is the Holy Spirit, how to study the Bible and basically almost everything that formed the foundation of my faith. The church i attend offline no one talks about such things. Before, then i was hearing even audible voices from the Spirit and bearing burdens but i thought it was demonic because it was telling me to delete all the worldly songs in my phone , which i felt was impossible. I didn't even know that part of the Christian journey includes studying the Word, it was the sermons and books that taught me that. Yea, i started out with the Gospel of John by the prompting of the Spirit, and for the first time in my life, reading the Bible felt different, it began to feel real like 3D instead of 2D I've always known. I was constantly checking the back of the Bible to be sure i was reading the same Bible i have always had. Anyways, that was months ago, I'm almost done with the new testament but i had to stop because the Spirit has placed a burden of studying the books of the prophets (Ezekiel, Daniel, Haggai, Zachariah etc). Now, Bible studying is different to the Glory of God. I can spend hours reading just one chapter because i always refer to my amplified, Bible concordance, online interpretations and listen to any hidden insight the Spirit wants to reveal to me. Thanks, but never advise anyone to refrain from books and sermons. The Holy Spirit teaches each one of us in unique ways.

Sorry if you misunderstood me. What I meant is captured in the bolded. The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth. I meant that as he begins to study the Bible only at first, God will create a hunger to know him more and that hunger will direct him to search for God. Then through the leading of the Holy Spirit who knows all things, he'll be directed to the right books, people and sermons that will answer All his questions and doubts about God. However, if he with his own wisdom picks up a book, there is every possibility that he might not even read half way through or might end up with more doubts and questions or become bored etc. God always wants to work in us before working through us. The power of the Holy Spirit is what enables us live Godly without struggles. Hallelujah!

To the Glory of God i've passed the realm of arguing with people that new age is from the devil, however you can check up testimonials on youtube of those who have gone deep into new age before converting to christianity. But, don't expect me to spend precious time trying to convince you, because i have passed that stage.

To follow God, you have to throw away human logic and perspective. You have to become a babe again and start learning afresh. Forget everything you think you've known about God and sincerely ask Him to come into your life and become your Lord and Savior. Ask Him to help you and guide you into His Truth cos He is Truth. Also, you have to start filtering what you take in into your subconscious. Knowledge is the food the mind feeds on. However, bad knowledge like bad food will not only harm you, but can potentially kill you. For a start in bringing your soul back into harmony, I'll ask you to refrain from reading any book or listening to any pastor for now. Get yourself a Bible and start reading the Gospels. Start from John's Gospel. Start a life of daily prayer. As you do these, I know that the Holy Ghost will start His work of reinvention in you. May God direct your path to Himself. Amen!

You're right in a way. I'm naturally very curious and experimental. So, it's not just about reading. When I read some of the books of the kaballah sect, I literally tried some of their ritual magic that had to do with invocation of demons. Though I wasn't successful. However, I had unintentionally and unknowingly opened an access door for demons evidenced by my dreams as I later got to understand.

ok the teaching was that. the pastor said that God created man with five elements of which are ‘earth’ ‘fire’ ‘water’ ‘sound’ and one other name like that. He even backed it up by some scripture and I was wowed.

This got me curious that I went to the net for the source of that msg and alas, I got it. It was actually these occultic teachings . I got to a website that elaborate it for me. Coming down to nairaland I got to be exposed to most of those things.

I do listen to one of those preacher who said he sees angels physically on weekly/daily basics. And I was wowed by his prowess. Having read a lot of xtian books, hardly have I read such an amazing encounter. But as nature would make it, I stumbled to a thread here on nairaland. There the writer(spiritualist) go to explain that it is practically impossible to see a spiritual entity with one’s naked eyes except he opens the third eye. I was wowed.
Once I listen to any of the so called powerful messages that is revealing the deep secrets of the spiritual realm. All I do is to note down strange words I heard and go research them.at the end of the day I got to realize that most of them had their sermon from occultic origin. I never label any pastor as occultic, but I think it’s good to be smarter.

Now I had a man on my Facebook page, he was once a so called powerful Pentecostal pastor until he woke and exposes the manipulation of the so called popular pastor. You can view his page on Facebook to ascertain my words. Charles awuzie”. He is so much influencial, though he was once a prophetic teacher, a missionary to mention few. I guess you will say he is a backslider but go to his Facebook page to understand better.
All these and much more makes me weary of so called church. For the few months have been trying to build myself in a personal relationship with God.

Bro I'll support what Nnamdiosu said. You have to "unread" those books. I'll share a short story about me with you. I grew up in a pentecostal church and was very fervent with God (I had revelations from God constantly). Gradually, every love I had for God died before I was done with high school. I became interested in occult mysticism and because I had a voracious appetite for knowledge, I consumed every material about occultism that I came across. What I didn't know was that those books and audio tapes were opening up portals for demonic access into my life. Though I got some occultic experiences and powers then (ability to cause havoc to perceived enemies), it never satisfied the thirst I had for true knowledge and experience of The Divine. Eventually, I stopped practicing but the spirits I had invited never left me for a long time, even after I started going to church again. I felt enslaved and had neither will nor power to do the things I truly wanted until I met Jesus. First, God wants to work in you, before working for you. I don't like recommending pastors cause they're all humans, but listening to David Ogbueli (Pst) helped me understand truly, the mind of God and some of the things God used to talk to me about when I was younger. Maybe, get some of his preachings on God's covenant and you'll get to see that most of these miracles you see on TV, you too can perform them, especially in areas of personal healing.
Knowledge is a two-edged sword. Be careful what you take in. Satan won't go spreading word that he's the source of that knowledge.

in my understanding of christian spirituality, i read and i heard that some believers operate at a higher ANOINTING. those believers cn speak/pray and get result instantly. they have no barrier to their request from God. those are the ones we see that heal d sick and raise the leper. bro you know of this than me.

Faith is what you need, Sir. Do you believe that you can pray for yourself and receive healing? It might not be instantaneous as you see on TV. Yet, you will receive complete and perfect healing. All you need is FAITH. How can you get that kind of faith? The Bible says, "So faith comes from hearing the message, and the message that is heard is what Christ spoke (The word of God, The Bible)". In order to build the kind of faith that will get you healed, this is what you'll do: Consistently study the portions of The Bible, where Jesus healed people either directly or through his apostles and visualise yourself as the person being healed. Get preachings on Faith, healing services/ministrations and constantly listen to them. Finally, The Bible says, "They won the victory over him because of the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony". Constantly confess your healing. When you've built enough faith, you won't need to pray much and you'll notice signs of healing.
