On Monday, an Illorin Magistrates' Court ordered two friends who allegedly gang raped a 19-years old girl be remanded in prison.

Magistrate Monisola Kamson, ordered that Sodiq Abdulrauf and Ali Ahmad, be remanded in Oke-kura Prison Yard, Ilorin.

Monisola adjourned the case till May 2 for further arising matters.

The Prosecutor, Sgt.Gbenga Ayeni, informed the court that the victim accompanied her friend to her boyfriend's house where she was gang raped and assaulted.

The prosecutor said that the defendants and one Korani, who is now at large, beat up the victim and raped her.
After the charges were read to the defendants, they pleaded not-guilty to the charges filed against them.

The Prosecutor, said that the alleged offence contravened the sections 97 and 282 of the Penal Code Law.

The former Nigerian Ambassador to the Scandanavian and Foremost Niger Delta leader who was rushing to meet up with a 2019 Tompolo Birthday Lecture in Warri, Delta state, was bound by a traffic which reports claim lasted for over two hours.

According to the report, he told his assistants that he couldn't wait as the traffic showed no sign of movement. He then boarded a keke which will take him faster to his destination.

6. Easy tasks that doesn't require any time

In this chat, a Taxify driver who drove a man from Ogba to Surulere, made a big mistake making a transfer to the driver.

The charge for the fare was N2,500 but out of generosity, he decided to add an extra N1,500 which rounds up a total sum of 4,000.

The man ended up sending N40,000 instead of 4.000.

Pope Francis knelt down to kiss South Sudan's warring leaders, on Thursday 11, April 2019, in a gesture after the retreat at the Vatican.

Pope however urged them to not return to a civil war. He also appealed to President Salva Kiir, his former deputy turned rebel leader Riek Machar, and three other vice presidents to respect any peace agreement they signed and commit to forming a unity government in May.

He also said in his remarks...

Two students of the University of Lagos who attempted to rape their course mate on Thursday has appeared before a Yaba Chief Magistrates' Court on a 5-counts charge.

The students identified as Ikedi Okpanlanedu, 21 and Samuel Idongesit, 20. Both students are facing charges of conspiracy, attempted rape, assault, impersonation and threatening violence.

Police Sgt. Modupe Olaluwoye, who prosecutes the case, told the court that the undergraduates invited the course mate who was a makeup artiste to an hotel and attempted to rape her.

The sergeant also told the court that the defendants committed the offence at 4:40pm on April 1, at Peace Land Hotel, Folagoro, Lagos State.

Olaluwoye also said that the defendants invited the make up artiste with the promise that they wanted to introduce her to someone who needs her services.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi said on Wednesday April 10, 2019 said that no less than 2,000 tourists visit his palace and other tourist sites around Ile-Ife everyday.

Ooni said this during a press tour organised to ascertain how far tourism had impacted on Ife community and its environs, ahead of the Tourism Innovation and Development Innovation Conference (TIDA) slated for April 24.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the theme of the conference is: Impact of Sustainable Tourism Development and Marketing of Tourism Destinations on Host Communities.

The monarch said that tourists from all over the world had been visiting the ancient town on a regular basis to know more about its culture making it a good reference point in domestic tourism.

The Ooni said that to keep the good record and history, there had been orientation programmes for the residents, adding that this was on how best they could be hospitable and familiarise themselves with the history of the town.

In his statement,
”Ife remains a tourist hub, the huge number of visitors I receive on a daily basis can attest to this.
”We want to ensure we do better in terms of hospitality, that is why we have continued to re-orientate our people on the essence of being hospitable.”

The Nigerian police have confirmed the arrest of an officer who was seen in a video harassing a victim for possessing an iPhone.

On Tuesday, a video clip was posted on Twitter showing a young man being picked out by the police among other passenger in a commercial vehicle.

The Twitter user said he shot the video for about 44seconds on Tuesday in Okpe, Delta State.

The young man, standing behind the officer, looked confused as the officer was checking the phone.

"Two hundred and fifty thousand naira", the young man was heard answering the officer when he was asked how much the phone cost.

"Me, wey I dey work for over 13 years, I never see motor buy for N250,000" the officer added. Implying that the young man live above his personal income.

However, the Nigerian Police Force, on their verified twitter account stated that the officer who harassed the citizen is now in custody.

Inspector Ogunyemi Olalekan, the officer who fired the shot that killed Kolade Johnson has been dismissed from service.

The incident happened while Johnson was at a football viewing center in Lagos.


The suspected killers, Insp. Ogunyemi Olalekan and Sgt. Godwin Orji were paraded by newsmen today.

Interviewed by the press, Olalekan said that Johnson was in the gathering of suspected cultists when the incident happened.

In his statement,
"We had a distress call that we should move to Mangoro. On getting there, we saw some group of guys smoking Indian hemp and thought they were cultists. We effected an arrest there. Suddenly, they mobbed us. While trying to run away from them, I fired up and I didn't know how it got to meet the boy in question that was shot dead. I only fired one shot up''


The Lagos State Police Command spoke person DSP Bala Elkana in a statement, said that Olalekan has been dismissed after he was found guilty, while the second accused was released as he was not found guilty.

Nollywood actor popularly known as Silvanus in the 'Do Good' movie series has passed away after a car crash on his way back to Lagos after attending his mother's burial in his hometown.

The producer and star actor in the 'Do Good' series, Basorge Tariah, took to his Instagram page to announce his death.

He said, "my heart is so heavy right now, I am in a dark painful place. Tragedy is a Euphemism. We just lost Silvanus of Do Good".

"My dear brother was returning from the burial of his mother when death added my friend to his mean account. RIP, these tears won't stop flowing".

Nigerians were thrown into shock and dismay after the death of a young Nigerian identified as Kolade Johnson aka Kaylow.
The incident took place on the 31st of March 2019, as it was reported that Kolade was killed by a SARS official while watching a football match around the axis of Onipetesi, Mangoro Along Ikeja Expressway Lagos.
At around 5:05pm, 31 March 2019, the command received a distress call that Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway has been blocked by some youths who were protesting the shooting of Kolade Johnson
