HOW 'ORDINARY' WARD CHAIRMAN NAILED OSHIOMHOLE'S POLITICAL COFFIN...FOR GOOD!


Kindly, take a look at these points and see how Oshiomhole's arrogance and lack of tact led to his potential political downfall.

* Oshiomhole was suspended by his Ward chairman as a MEMBER OF THE PARTY and not as chairman. And he didn't take it serious. In fact, he dismissed them.

* Instead of vacating it or appealing it, he continued "acting" as National Chairman of the the party.

* Instead, he chose to suspend them and supplant them (ward, local government and state excos of the party in Edo) and set up a parallel Exco.

* But the Anselm Ojezua-led Exco was the authentic state party chairman and he has court order to that effect which has not been vacated. And he also occupies the recognised Secretariat of the party.

* Oshiomhole needed to go back to his Ward and appeal the decision to suspend him so that the suspension could be lifted. But that is now late as the Ward Chairman is loyal to the Ojezua-led Exco who was in turn loyal to Gov. Obaseki.

* The last time APC had a National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting was in 2018. Yet, the constitution of the party MANDATES that NEC meeting "SHALL" be held FOUR times a year. It is MANDATORY!

* Yet, Oshiomhole has not called any NEC meeting since the one that was held to produce Buhari. He knew if he called it, they might turn it to a mini-convention and sack him.

* And during that last NEC meeting, it was decided that EACH STATE could decide the mode of primary election they liked and then get back to the national office of the party who would now appoint officials to supervise the primary. That was what they did in Kogi Bayelsa and that was why the Edo APC decided they didn't want direct primaries.

* The last two conventions held by the party were the one that produced Oshiomhole himself as National Chairman and the one that ratified Buhari as candidate in December 2018 for the 2019 Presidential election. In fact, the one that produced him was not conducted by him.

* He personally appointed Lanre Isa-Onilu as National Publicity Secretary and Bulama as National Secretary. Yet, these guys were supposed to be elected via a mini-convention while their deputies should act until they were duly elected.

* Technically, these officials are not recognised BY THE LAW as they were not products of a mini-convention of the party.

* Now, what has floored Oshiomhole was that suspension by an unknown Ward Chairman of his party in his hometown.

* Like my brother Akinloye NG told me, in party politics, after the National Chairman of a party, the most powerful (but mainly unknown) is the Ward Chairman.

My Take
And that is why Ize-Iyamu has to go back to his APC Ward and apply for waiver. The Ward Chairman will forward it to the Local Government Chairman of the party who will send it to state and then to Zonal and then to national secretariat. Then the National Working Committee, NWC, would meet, send it to NEC for RATIFICATION.

PDP has quickly held their own emergency NEC so they could grant waiver to Obaseki if he joins them.

Without waiver, as a new entrant, you are not qualified to contest.

So Oshiomhole should go and beg his Ward Chairman!

Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, oba Ewuare II, oba of Benin, says “godfatherism” and “consensus candidate” must be eradicated from the politics of Edo state.

In a statement on Thursday, the oba said these two “political vices” are antithetical to the fundamental basis of democracy.

Osagie Ize-Iyamu, a governorship aspirant in Edo, is backed by Adams Oshiomhole, suspended national chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC).

TheCable reported how the coast is now clear for Ize-Iyamu after two aspirants dropped out of the race for the party’s ticket and endorsed him.

The traditional ruler denied reports suggesting that his palace prevailed on some aspirants to step down “for a particular candidate in the upcoming primaries of a certain political party”.

“The palace totally denounces this evil speculation and condemns those that originated it,” the statement read.

“His Royal Majesty, Omo N‘Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpoiokpolo, the Oba of Benin has said times without number that the Palace of the Oba of Benin does not get involved in partisan politics. The three prayer points of the Oba of Benin in the democratic process have always been as follows; that God and our ancestors should give us a governor that will accord respect to traditional institutions, develop this state and provide food on the table for the masses.

“The Omo N’Oba strongly advises that in order to eschew recurrent socio political conflict that seems to constantly ravish the state, making Edo people a laughing stock to the rest of the country in how politicians manage the affairs of Edo people, our Edo political actors must eradicate the twin evil political vices of Godfatherism and CONSENSUS CANDIDATE.

“These two practices seem antithetical to the very fundamental basis of democracy. In other words this business of coercing aspirants to step down for another candidate for whatsoever reason is undemocratic It will not augur well for the development of democratic process in Nigeria.”

The oba said the palace is “very weary” of the imposition of candidates whom only certain individuals want, not the majority.

“Ghana Must Go politics should end in the State. Politicians should stop cashing in on the poor masses and exploiting them for their votes,” he said.

“As the various political parties go about the process of selecting their candidates through their respective party primaries, we urge all to exercise the highest standards of maturity and sportsmanship, as the desire to bring about the best for the people of Edo State cannot be compromised nor sacrificed on the altar of intolerance, rumour mongering and fake news.

“Rumour mongers are reminded that there is an ancestral curse on anyone who attempts to tarnish the image ol the Oba of Benin and the ancient throne of Benin Kingdom, which will normally be for their selfish ends.”

Thank you for this. It's funny how many people on this forum know the truth but they will still change the narrative to their favour... If by monday Oshiomhole gets stay of execution from the supreme court what will Gaidom be saying. The ruling he is relying on was made when there was no Deputy National Chairman from South, but now that there is someone in that position Gaidom can't claim He is the most senior in the NWC.

Even if Oshiomole goes for stay of execution with his appeal to Supreme Court, which is likely not to be granted, the day Supreme Court will affirm Court of Appeal's decision which is most likely, APC will become candidateless eventually in both Edo and Ondo state elections. That's the implications.

So, Sen. Shuaibu-led APC NWC and NEC will definitely oppose any stay of execution citing the impending injury such could cause the party.

That's how law, time and political calculation work

Any stay of execution at this time, will render APC with no Governorship candidates in Edo state and Ondo state, APC NWC and NEC will oppose Oshiomole stay of execution filing, they will sacrifice Oshiomole rather than sacrifice 2 APC controlled states

Ize iyamu has a court case going on now judgement will be delivered in the next few hours, to determine his eligibility as an APC member.
He is not yet a member of APC
The current Edo state APC chairman Ojezua who is in Obaseki camp will not accept or allow Ize Iyamu to be accepted as a member of APC is any of the wards in Edo state.
It still baffles me how an intelligent and smart politician like Ize Iyamu got caught into this political trap.

Cabal have finally succeed in taking over APC with Giadom in control as acting chairman....more trouble days ahead for Oshiomole

There appears to be confusion as the APC Deputy National Secretary, Victor Giadom, takes over as Acting National Chairman of the ruling party.

Giadom in his maiden media conference announced the cancellation of the screening of the party’s governorship aspirants in Edo State. He has, therefore, asked all affected persons to return to the Party’s National Secretariat for a fresh screening exercise on Wednesday and Thursday.

He said Oshiomhole should not have midwived the process of the governorship primaries since he had a case in court.

Meanwhile, the APC National Working Committee had appointed Deputy National Chairman (South) and former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, as Acting National Chairman.

Giadom is one of three national party officials laying claim to Office of APC National Chairman.

They didn't affirm the suspension. Rather, they affirmed the fact that there is a case/suit to be determined - whether a national party officer can be suspended at the local level. The problem is that Oshiomhole does not want to be in suspension while the suit is being determined. A lot could happen that won't favour him...

Obaseki faction, it was, approached the court when it was clear that their local suspension was not holding water and Oshiomhole kept parading himself as chairman.

Bro it is too early to argue without evidence.

Read the below news, Oshiomole suspension was affirmed or upholded because he has been suspended at ward level, so he can no longer parade himself as chairman until his suspension is lifted at ward level in his village .
