dadawig: Thanks for this information. For my partner dependant, I added 4 months to my course end date as Visa expiry and it came up with the same amount which I had already paid. Should I fill another application for my child dependant and add 4 additional months to my course end date so I can pay the same amount which I paid?
I'm worried about the IHS payment difference to avoid NOT STRAIGHT FORWARD EMAIL FROM UKVI.
Please advise. I am a dependent, My husband is going for PhD, I only fill in his course start and end dates and paid the IHS that was automatically calculated for me. I didn’t go to add anything because they didn’t ask me to do that. We have long collected our vignettes. Do what the people ask you to do, simple. |

Greenville990: My narrative is quite similar to yours. I have a wife and a son
My questions: 1. I have all the funds for all three of us in my account, will that be the same bank statement I will be submitting for her and my son ?
2. She currently holds a passport with her maiden name, however she's done newspaper publications for change of name. Will she required to do a different passport bearing my surname or a letter will suffice
3. Consent letter ? What's the content ? Was it notarized ? 2. She doesn't need a new passport. Just attach the marriage cert. |

humblemoi: The 25k paid was it because his bags were weighing over the limit of 23kg or for a separate bag of 23kg? One bag weighed 23.kg and the other 32.6kg as there is provision to expand one bag to 32kg for $75 or so. If we were to pay for extra bag of 23kg, it would have been 56k or there about. |

justwise: Coventry, Luton, Bedford, Watford are within 1.50mins to London depending on transport means..for example train from Luton to London is about 20-25mins while coach is about 1.50mins and you can get one bedroom shared house for £350-400 a month depending on the condition of the house..e.g how many people sharing the flat, bills inclusive or not, distance to city center, furnished or unfurnished.
Living that far from London is not actually economically sensible considering the cost of transport and time of travel Exactly my thought at the bolded.. Thanks for your advice |

Thank you Mami! Aphrodite007: @fizzile I support this response. Can Coventry is a lovely place and you can get lots of student jobs (care jobs) there. But it’s far from London in my opinion because I’m lazy (anything more than 30mins away by train is far).
Congrats and welcome to the UK |

Thanks for the quick response.. He is looking at accommodation not above £350, bills inclusive.. And yes a shared flat.. His studies from Oct to Dec is twice weekly. One has to be in class and the other can be online, I guess that's why the friend suggested Coventry.. Can you pls suggest areas he can look through if Coventry is far to London. And also work If by UCL you mean University College London then Coventry is NOT close to London. “Cheap” accommodation is relative. What is Cheap for a Tertfund scholar may be expensive for a PTDF scholar...etc Type of accommodation required matters too. Is your hubby looking for a room in a shared flat? Or he wants a flat? But on a general note, the closer to central London (zones 1 and 2), the more expensive accommodation is. If you provide more details, you will receive better advice.[/quote] |
