Culture / Re: Yoruba Vs Igbo Feud!- What Is The Solution? by magicjack: 10:13am On Aug 21, 2019
we should learn to see ourselves as ONE HUMAN RACE first all sharing the same blood from Adam and eve, see ourselves as Nigeria's second the highest potential in Africa, and see our tribes as tyres on a vehicle, every tyre is required to move forward, so every tribe must work together and move in unison and in unity, as an ijaw man the non violent Fulani man is my broda, as an Igbo woman, the efik woman sud be your sister, as a tiv man the esan man sud be ur broda, n so on

That is how this iPod pigs act. They wait for minority tribes to create a thread before discussing ikwerre/ukwale/agbor vs igbo all the time.

A majority tribe that has no idea what to do with their huge number, you can't find hausas or yorubaz in such petty stupidity

What a shame

Cc lalasticlala please clean up the thread

Obobs! As much as I hate all this tribal disrespect some of this pepo display, I think its wrong to insult a whole tribe bcuz some stupid few.......Igbo people generally are lovely, the ones disgracing themselves on nairaland are doing deirsef.......let's not turn dis thread to Igbo vs Niger delta

Nairaland / General / The State With The Highest Number Of Tribes by magicjack: 6:18pm On May 30, 2019
This topic may sound strange to some of our hausa, igbo and yoruba brothas who are used to one tribe occupying a whole states or even a whole zone of 6-7 states, but those of us from the southsouth and northcentral will understand what it's like to drive through your state and enter a different tribe's land every 15 mins grin
So I wondered which of us these states even have the most tribes in them, my personal opinion is

1.) Rivers
Ikwerre, kalabari, ogoni, etche, okrika, ibani,etc.......the tribes of rivers are as many as the streets in rivers, port harcourt alone is made up of 3 different tribes, many oda towns exist like dis too in rivers

2.) Delta
igbo, Ijaw, uhrobo, isoko, kwale, tsekiri,etc.......in delta, every direction you look is a diff tribe's land, warri is a good example made of 3 diff tribes, and they re many oda places like dat too, it's rumored some igalas are der too

3.)Crossriver
Efik, ejagam, ukella, yala, bekwarra, etc...... like d name it's lyk every river u cross in the state u enta a new tribes place, some of us may think "there are all calabar pepo, der will understand demselves" believe me, i heard a friend of mine speak bekwarra once, it sounded nothing like the "mkpom mbong" efik dat we know, (no offense o)

4.)Kogi
Geographically being at a centre point in nigeria n sharing borders with bout 10 states, it's no surprise kogi is multi ethnic, the igalas, ebiras, d most popular I know, then some yoruba, igbo, idoma, gwari, etc towns also feature

5.)Benue
Home of Tivs, idomas, igedes, n so many more

6.)Bayelsa
One of the most confusing ethnic groupings to understand is that of bayelsa state, to so many(even those in neighbouring rivers and delta) bayelsa is a monoethnic state made up of only Ijaws, even I thought so until recently when I learned of the ogbias, epies, nembes......... also the uhrobos, isokos n some even say some igbo towns are there

7.)Edo
Bini, esan, etsako, igbanke, ivbe..........along with few ijaw, itsekiri n ika settlements

8.)Akwa-Ibom
Ibibios, annangs, orons, ekets, efiks.......few ijaw and igbo settlements as well

9.)Plateau
I know plateau sud b higher on this list but i don't know most of the tribes der, for those who didn't know plateau is not an Hausa state as you may have felt, there are numerous tribes here, the bassa, berom, goemai, gwara,etc..........few fulanis too

10.)Niger/Kwara/Kaduna/Adamawa/Kebbi

honorable mention
Lagos- despite being yoruba land all 300+ tribes in nigeria are well represented here grin

to be honest, all I noticed is that they call all us southerners Igbos, whether for praise or insulting reasons

only few really informed ones(who probably have SS friends that have corrected them repeatedly) know the difference

to be fair, u can't say is a hausa and yoruba thing only

Just as hausa and yoruba see SS as igbo, also-

Igbos see SSners as either edo, ijaw or calabar, all other groups being under dis 3

we SSners along with yoruba n igbo see all northern minorities as hausa

most nigerians can't differentiate efik, Ibibio, oron, ogoja, e. t. c so they give dem one name "calabar people"

most nigerians can't differentiate bini, esan, afemai in edo state

most nigerians see all bayelsans as ijaw people unaware there are other non ijaw tribes in bayelsa

most nigerians can't differentiate urhobo, isoko, izon, itsekiri, dey call all of them "warri people" some even call them edo people

most nigerians ve no idea which tribes are here in port harcourt

So you see the mistake is relative depending on where uve stayed, I doubt ders anyone who hasn't made one or more of these mistakes b4

When they do something bad yorubas call them. Igbo just to insult IGBOS, but when it's something good they will say IGBOS are trying to grab them..

Just the they call nzeogwu(from delta) coup "igbo coup" and killed IGBOS for it..
But when IGBOS includ delta in biafra , the same people will say "delta are not igbos"

Don't pretend like u don't know all these things..

why will they call SS Igbos wen dey do bad n den deny dey r igbos wen dey do something good? undecided no offense ma'am but I think you're just trying to play the victim card, n i doubt you truly live in the southwest, I live in ph but the few times Ive visited lagos I noticed that even after correcting them 1000 times that I'm ijaw 4rm niger delta, they will see me the next day and call me "omo igbo", wen my aunt prepared odu fulo for them they we're like "omo igbo una sabi cook iyo"

u can't say they are uneducated street people for making that mistake cuz if you do it means you also are an uneducated street person cuz I bet you yourself don't know the difference between hausa and the berom tribe of plateau state or the chamba of adamawa

ure making a big mistake if ure using asaba to judge delta state as a whole, the fact that it's the capital doesn't mean it's the best city(see anambra, abia n even Nigeria as examples)

Last time I checked there are flyovers at Effurun roundabout, Refinery area, Ajamimogha area, then i think one in ughelli, so ure wrong to say delta has 3 flyovers, we don't even see flyovers or skyscrapers as achievements anymore, don't make others look down on us, we are not exactly the best but we're far better than alot of others

I still maintain that someone should mention the state they feel is better than delta let's do one on one comparism if they are sure

While I agree that this is far too poor an achievement, u ve to admit that though delta cud do a lot better they actually doing well compared to most other states, it may not seem so bcuz in delta development is not concentrated on one city like other states but spread across Warri, asaba, sapele, e. t. c. How many states can claim to ve any development outside their capital?

Again Op, I think ure wrong to say they are only 3 flyover bridges in delta, cuz as far back as 2015 I saw at least 3 flyovers in warri alone(not overwater bridges o)flyover bridges

I have stayed in the south-south for 5 years and I can boldly tell you that your people are very lazy. Your youths don't work. I mean, why work when they can just take weapons and Rob people on the streets? If your youths are not lazy, them no go carry cultism and militancy for head like ringworm. I remember in 2015, some delta youths blocked a federal Highway because they didn't get the monthly stipend Jonathan was giving them. I stayed on the bridge linking bayelsa and delta for 4 hours because of your lazy youths. You cannot lie to everyone.

technically only strongmen will have d liver to go into cultism,, militancy n bunkering, lol

nw on a more serious note, I'm 4rm rivers state n i know many of my pepo r guilty of this, i won't go into d issue of why it's that way cuz if we're all asked to give excuses for bad habits am sure we'd all have excuses to give, but there is anoda side to this.

You know what I feel dear beloved brother. You don't force people to accept your culture or the way you live. If they say they are not igbo, let's accept their decisions and mind our business. I don't see what they or the Igbos would gain by claiming them, fighting over people that does not want to accept you is ridiculous.
The Igbos have tried for decades to bring back their brethren from other regions to unity, but they've all been adamant, even Akwa ibom and I guess cross-river are more closer to their Igbo neighbours than some neighbour who answer Igbo names and their culture.

I believe the people in the south-south that bear Igbo names should learn to live in unity with their neighbors. Love and unity between all of us in our country Nigeria, would foster great achievements for us in this country.

How many of them in ibadan or us have even been to the Niger delta or been taught at school about the history of the ibiobio, nupe, ijaw, itsekiri, nri (igbo) or bini?

It's like how we call Japanese or Korean people chinko, or pakistani, sri lankan and bangladeshi people indian. What you are complaining about is informal / erroneous education/socialisation.

Pretending you don't know what you're doing isn't anything. You know exactly what you're doing. Tribal baiting isn't you insulting people, it is you opening or saying useless controversial topics or statements that Ignites ignorant fools into attacking and insulting eachother, just like the OP did.
