autotrader014:In order to get to the level where he cuts his own jobs, his needs on hand experience in a real estate firm. Bro, real estate aint beans. You need mad connections in order to survive. Its not something you just hop up and down to do... dont be too hard on him. Even before I ventured into my business, i worked for good 4 years plus. Saved up and venture into a more profitable enterprise..... |

MISSNORA:When an artiste is still struggling for spot light, it becomes a mutually beneficial thing because regardless of what you thinkm upcoming artists make up a good percentage of sound city's content. The t.v. station plays the content, the artiste gains some publicity... that is the only scenario where the t.v. station actually benefits the upcoming artist. In the case of nigeria, upcoming artistes pay for air time (radio and t.v.) so its not like the t.v. station has a choice. you cannot receive money and not do what you are paid for?? If t.v. refuses to play the upcoming artiste content for whatever reason, then the artist can budget the finances to high level internet and radio promotion..... if the song hits big on radio and internet, shoot a video and send it to mtv and trace. They will play it for free and then local champions like soundcity will eventuall have no choice but to pick iy up... Whatever the scenario, up coming or not, the artiste is still a major content provider to the t.v. |
MISSNORA:you raised a nice point. Gratitude is always a good thing but let me educate you a bit on music business. 1- Soundcity is not doing p-square any favour by playing their music. They are international stars and airing p-square videos and content is what we call "added content" which solely benefits soundcity because they do not make any royalty payments to the artiste. 2- Psquare has played numerous free shows for soundcity which has generated millions of naira for soundcity. 3- soundcity makes thousands of naira every single day off the sweat of these artistes by stealing their royalties. Their youtube account is monetized. That simply means for everytime you watch a p-square interview or click a p-square video hosted by soundcity on youtube, google pays a certain amount of money into soundcity's account. Everything i stated above is a fact. Soundcity is currently not doing p-square any favour by airing or not airing their contents. Its a shame that the Nigerian music industry hardly favours the artiste that sweated their ass off for these content you are watching. Just imagine soundcity a situation where all the artistes in Nigeria stop making videos, will soundcity still have contents to air?? P-SQUARE HAS PAID THEIR DUES. THEY HAVE SUFFERED AND EARNED THEIR STRIPES AND even the bibles says that every labourer deserves his wage!.. the most p-square can do is to slash their performance fee for soundcity. If every tv and radio station that supported p-square during their struggling days should demand for free appearance and all that, then the industry will be totally messed up. |
I actually feel that the brown roofs are part of the rustic charms of this ancient city. Ibadan has a perfect blend of modern and county charm. Perfect place to relax.one love. No need to proof anything to anyone or let tribalist get under your skin. The truth remains the truth... |
koladebrainiac:Noooo.... we will see!! |
koladebrainiac:Well, we will see the extent of their work when it rains again |
SexyStrawberry:Loool... about your flight experience, I experienced almost same thing on my way to ethiopia but mine was way scarier I guess. The landing gears of the airline refused to deploy and after hovering around the airport for almost 2 hours, we descended from 35000ft to 10, 000ft... Eventually sha, the landing gear dropped and we had a pretty smoothe landing.... come check out applause naaah.....na so one woman wear dress like a muslim (covered in hijab) stood up and shouted "praisee the loooorrrrrd"..... |
majamajic:I don't think I noticed any OPEN DRAINAGE system on that road. What im trying to say is that even if there was drainage system, it couldn't have been blocked by tue masses |
There was nothing like blow jooobbbb in that era. Thank God I wasn't born then! ![]() |
atbu1983:So far, amaechi is not on the ministerial nominees list sent to the dss..... That I can authoritatively tell you |
This is an appeal to the lagos state government and all relevant authorities to please fix the ikorodu/maryland road and work on the drainage system, Whenever it rains, it becomes impossible to make out the road from the pavement . Infact, at a poiny I was scared cos it felt like I was stuck in a flowing river.

steppin:Different people have different ways of expressing fear or nervousness. I wasn't scared of dying or nervous... I was actually at peace with myself...don't know why I laughed..... the collective screams of jeeeeeesssssus and all that kinda felt funny.... The beginning and end of everyone has been written. |
mekonglobal:Yes.. it was a bad experience.... |
This happened a while back but Its still my worst travelling experience till date. I boarded a "small" bus (i will not name the company) heading to lagos. I was coming from delta state and was really hoping I would make it back to lagos before 11am (max 12 noon). About an hour into the journey, I succumbed to sleep but I made sure I was strapped into my sit..... I don't know how long I slept before I was jolted back to reality by screams of "blood of jesus" by fellow passengers...... of course there was tire screeching!! At that moment, it felt like everything slowed down.... instead of screaming, I started laughing.... I had a hearty laugh for what seemed like an eternity before the bus somersaulted a couple of times... Eventually, it all came to a stop and I was still alive. Still strapped into my seat. The lady beside me also survived but she was hysterical and when I tried to talk to her, she totally ignored me.... she would talk to other people but she wouldn't talk to me.... Help from the locals was almost instantaneous. I was helped out of the bus and I had nothing but a small bruise on my right arm. Can't say much about the state of other passengers... I just picked my small bag, boarded another bus and continued my journey..... Cause of accident: I heard it was a trailer that ran us off the road. I was sleeping then The really appalling part was that (1) the trailer driver did not even stop. 2) passengers from other buses were busy taking pictures and I heard atleast 2 people say "thank God ooh.. I was supposed to board this bus"..... So, what was your worst travelling experience like?? Follow me on nairaland and I follow back
