airmark: Where you fans should be concerned is, before that match Amorim was confident of a win in his presser. During and after the match, the body language and the English language changed.
I am afraid under this inexperienced coach, Man UTD are beyond repair as it stands. A total overhaul is crucial and not sure the management is ready for that. He did not say anything about a win nor did any of his words lend an assumption that he was confident that we’ll win He said from day one we’d see the idea that he wants to implement and that , he did |

adisaaowala: Na Special Pep Apologists dey reason this particular excuse o
I find it a bit uncomfortable that Ipswich town with just one win in 12 league games would currently be furious with themselves for missing out on 3 points yesterday
*The bitter truth is that managers at Top clubs need to win certain matches even during the supposed implementation and perfection phases of strategies and tactics...it is part of what makes the job more difficult than managing Blackburn Rovers or Coventry City*.
There would be games during which he would just need to be flexible and adapt to the strengths of the players at his disposal
It is what it is!
Hopefully, Amorim has taken some learnings from yesterday's game such that we are able to win the next one. 😂 |

afrodoc2: lol why you dey look for me?
I am not going to stress myself over a coach that had just 2-3 sessions to introduce a new formation to his players.
There is nothing long term that can be taken from this game. Ole and Moyes both had big wins in their first matches. ETH lost his first match. If we had won today, siddon look mode. If we had lost today, siddon look mode. We drew today, siddon look mode.
The usual reflex complainants of the thread can carry on. Na the people wey say dem ready to persist with Ten Hag if he continued losing I say make you come look, 45 minutes into the first game of a manager that took over in the middle of the season |

I am just glad that people can see through your poorly constructed agenda. Bin Laden's attorney. You are “People”? Cos you are the only one who has asked me to supply you receipts. Emotional tactics is not going to get you points; so talking about “people” every two words is not going to garner you the support you so badly desire I am Bin Laden’s attorney, what are you going to do about it? |

patrickmuf: That Maik dude is just pushing an agenda. We were all here and we can dig. ETH got all the support especially in his first season. It was when it became obvious that we were not going anywhere with him that some of us started raising concerns. S It is easy to say you supported him because he changed his tactics after the first two games and then went on to do well; finishing third and winning a trophy Would you mr Patrickmuf, have supported him if he stuck to his tactics and kept losing with a counter-attacking team that was not suited to his system? Whatever your answer is, it will not change the fact that you are a clown btw |

afrodoc2: Yeah, we have very fickle fans. Unless he takes us into relegation waters i will give him until next season. After 2 transfer windows and a full preseason we should see dividends of his coaching. Which is the sensible thing to do But won’t be surprised if I see ETH whitewashing even before the end of this season |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by maik99(m): 1:45pm On Nov 19, 2024 |
afrodoc2: There is nothing over the moon about what i said. I have stated here repeatedly that i will suspend judgement until i see workings from him, but the point i was trying to make is that if Amorin does not keep the faith with his system and instead switches system from year to year like ETH, he too will fail.
ETH wasted his first 2 seasons. That was why he lost his way at the club. Most fans would have accepted if after struggling in the early part of the first season we saw incremental improvement. Most fans will prefer struggling in the 1st season while addressing the core problems and improving from there INSTEAD of chasing results in the first season and struggling into the 2nd and 3rd season because the core problems were not addressed.
What ETH did was akin to putting lipstick on a pig. Amorin must start by addressing the core issues now and then improve slowly from there. Most fans will forgive poor results while he still has lots of goodwill. If he chases results now and neglects to address the problems in the team, he too will go the way of ETH in 1-2 years' time. It’s not about you but the general feeling around Amorim’s appointment and the good vibes following his resumption Fans were going to give ETH a whole season when everywhere was already on meltdown after that 4-0 loss to Brentford? I wish Ruben all the best at arguably the toughest job in football |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by maik99(m): 10:56am On Nov 19, 2024 |
afrodoc2: This was the most significant coaching error that ETH made. Instead of sticking fully to his principles he was sitting on the fence tactically.
Playing high press (following his principles) while still playing a low defense line (going against his principles) because he felt our defenders were not pacy enough. This was the origin of the donut midfield and the wasted 2nd season that spiralled out of control and ultimately led to his sack.
I said it here then, he should have stuck to his principles (combine the press with a high line, compress the midfield, and even though the defense might suffer in the initial stages, at least the players will over time master a particular style.
Instead, every season the mumu was changing his tactics based on temporary situations. If Amorim wants to succeed here he has to implement a system that he will be consistent with. Those players that can't cope will be shipped out and replaced. All of these is easy to say lol At Manchester United you have to find a way to get results while the players are trying to learn the style All of you are over the moon but a poor run of results and we start seeing funny takes on this thread |
