Probably, but lets address his specific substitutions first. He should never have taken Bruno to the left leaving a tiring Eriksen on the pitch. The move at half time IMO was Eriksen and Sancho off for Fred and Elanga. That way we are more competitive in midfield and still retain pace on the wings. Moving Bruno to the wing made us less threatening and Eriksen was a short one the whole of the 2nd half.

Another thing is the timing of the first sub. Sancho should have been taken off at half time. Firstly, that means you have given your team more time with the improved line up. Secondly it means you still have 3 more opportunities to make substitutions.

Then to address the options issue. I think Garnacho can do a job on a tiring defence in the last 20-30 mins. ETH just has to be a bit brave and give those boys a chance. Garnacho has been rotting on the bench playing no football for 3 months. He is always on the bench for the senior team so he almost never plays reserve games but also never comes on for the senior team either. Lose lose situation for him.

The system is obviously working but our front three are letting us down with Sancho being the biggest culprit. Rashford is not a CF and even Antony sometimes does too many fancy flicks without going anywhere.

We also need a CM that has better legs than Eriksen who usually gets gassed by 60-70 mins.

It also appears that in-game substitution is not ETH's strongest point. Finally, he has to start getting some of these young players like Garnacho and Iqbal some minutes here and there.

The only CF player of high quality that I can think of that will slot perfectly into this team is Osimhen.

Unfortunately, getting him in January is almost impossible. Even getting him in the summer will be hard, because Napoli will definitely demand for a minimum of 100m. And we don't know if the glazers will back ETH massively in the TW for a second consecutive season. Something that we haven't done for any manager in the Post Ferguson era.
