So what happens when these roads are washed away by rainwater in 6, 12 or 24 months?

She didn't even mention South Eastern Nigeria in her comparison - so your reference to it is baffling. But that isn't even the point. The real issue here is a widespread aversion of some people to any kind of criticism - even when that criticism is factual, objective and justified.
