Time without number we hear people use the phrase 'Fall in Love' to describe what they felt about someone. How they felt some kind of biological magnetic attraction. You often hear them say stuff like 'I don't know how it happened, I just fell in love with him /her.' It's like the love they felt came without warning on its own and swept their hearts away. Now it's normal to have feelings of attraction when the person we like shows up. I had that feeling several times (I had feelings for several babes on nairaland as a matter of fact) What is not normal is to assume that feeling to be love. Love is not actually based on Chemical reaction that manifest itself as it please on the right moment. It's a word based on action. Saying you fall in love is like saying you will eat as soon as you become hungry. Reaction based feelings are circles. They don't really last in the true sence of the word. They are more or less temporary setbacks. When you feel hungry, you simply eat until you are satisfied. As soon as you are satisfied, you stop eating until when swayed by hunger. Why? Because hunger is a Reaction based feeling. The craving for food is a reaction in our body system to our brains signaling need for food. And the circle goes on and on and on. It's periodic. Love on the other hand doesn't have a season as in the case of being hungry. Neither does it have a time frame to happen or cause feeling of want or attraction to an individual we like. Love is not based on feelings, it's commitment. Love is action. Infact, love is an action verb. The sooner we know this the better. Angelina Jolie (The girl I had a crush on) and brad Pitt fell in love with each other, yet their marriage headed to the rocks. Was it true love they had for each other in the beginning? No. What they felt was merely a crush. Crush just like hunger is a reaction based feeling. It never last. Just like hunger it have a time frame. It comes at a particular time and it goes at a particular time. It happened Brad and Angelina. They had a crush. Now the crush is over. They got tired of each other and decide to flirt around with others. Today they're no more. There are many others like that. Crush and love are two different things. While crush only last for a moment, love last forever. |

hernyhorla: Hello peeps, Techno phones and Carlcare, its service agent in this country are both corporate criminals as far as i concerned. Please, if you are considering buying any of their phones - infinix and itel inclusive, think twice or take a visit to thier service centre and see what they do to users.I thought they have stepped up too like seriously until i fell into their trap. Policy exchange thing is d climax of their robbery. I bought a Techno H7 on 10th of July precisely and 2 weeks ago, the phone started hanging. i searched online for what to do and i found out about the service agent. I was so excited, rushed there and behold this crowd of life. I was asked to register the phone which i did, come back next day. I have gone like 5 times and the phone has not been fixed and the final say now there is no board for now. it sounds so funny to me and come to think of it, i gave out all the back up phones i can manage when i bought the phone. o ma seeeeeeeeee oooo
I am really frustrated right now that i dont know what to do again other than to buy another phone( looking at samsung Grand) when there is no money . I also use a Tecno H7 device. Bought it in July. Never had issues with it till date. |
Politics › Re: Governors Reject Autonomy For Local Government Councils by major466(m): 8:26am On Oct 25, 2014 |
byrron: What nigeria is practicing at the moment negates the principle of true federalism.
Bringing governance down to the grassroot level can never be a negation to the principles of true federalism rather the governors who are a part of the executive arm of goverment now meddling with what is purely the functions of the legislature negates the principles of true federalism.
All the community schools here and the massive maintanance of roads and some public structures In the county here In NY are being carried out by the mayor and not by the governor. Is united states not practicing true federalism? Are they not the model of democracy we are copping bck in Nigeria?
If the mayors In united states can be saddled with so much responsibility which brings down governance to the county areas despite the state having a governor with much heavier responsibilities then why can't the local governments in Nigeria be allowed to function as it ought to be without the governors hijacking its funds but refusing to carry out its functions?
True federalism recognizes the doctrine of seperation of power which is a part of the soul of true federalism and the governors are now over-reaching themselves.
Let the legislators make the law and if the governors don't like the law because It takes away the control of local goverment funds from their hands then they should go to the judiciary and challenge it which is the standard practice in every sane society that practices true federalism. You're right. Nigeria at the moment is not practicing true federalism. The present structure is more or less a unitary form of government. But here's the kicker. We all know that true federalism means separation of powers between the Center and the States where the states operates their own laws, their economy with complete control over resources based in their states. Now if true federalism gives States more autonomy to govern and make laws, how can the National Assembly make laws regarding the conduct and operation of local government in the State? Isn't that the responsibility of the States Assemblies to decide what to do with their local governments? |

Even though I don't give a hoot about the Australian Negotiator, I believed the abduction of the Chibock school girls was politically motivated the day some irresponsible Northern Elders gave a Rediculous ultimatum for the Chibock girls to be released by October or the President forget his reelection bid. Most Northern elders are undercover members of Boko Haram. The blood of those killed by the Satanic group would be on their heads. |
Politics › Re: Why Jonathan Is Afraid To Declare For 2015 by major466(m): 2:47pm On Oct 23, 2014 |
It's becoming very clear now that the abduction of the Chibock school girls was political act to dent the image of our good President Goodluck Jonathan. The way the protest arm of APC, BBOG group and the Northern elders forum harass the government over the issue is a grand ploy to prevent Mr president from running the 2015 Presidential race.
Well, we have news for them. GEJ will declare his intention to run for the 2015 Presidential election before the end of this month. APC minions better ask their leaders to release the girls because GEJ will contest the Presidency whether they're released or not. GEJ till 2019. Fresh Air on the Horizon. |
