What a ridiculous and utter waste of money.
Obviously most of you are not seeing the commercial site of it. That ark is actually an asset. The structure can be converted into some sort of adventure hotel. What's more lucrative than thathuh

PoliticsRe: Why Buratai, Danbazau Were Not Indicted In Arms Scandal Report – Nigerian Govt by major466(m):
Am not surprised one bit by what is happening under our dear Daura Magician's govt. It happened before.
If Goodluck Jonathan did what PMB is currently doing, the APC would not have been in power today. There's nothing easy than going after percieved political enemies under the cloak of fight against corruption. Anyone can do that. All you have to do is frame up your rivals with corruption charges and lock them up and say you're fighting corruption. It's as easy as that. But is that fighting corruptionhuh Definately not. That is nothing but political ''Witch Hunt''. It's the reason why I don't take Saraki and Ekweremadu's travails serious because, the duo are being persecuted for outsmarting the ruling party. If Saraki never had ambitions of becoming Senate President, CCB would never had instituted corruption charges against him.
PMB's so called fight against corruption is mere political punishment against rivals. Settling political scores.
Covering up govt officials from facing corruption charges is the worst form of corruption.
PetsRe: Dog Saves Family From Cobra In Bayelsa ( Pics) by major466(m):
Brave dog, but that snake is a Boa Constrictor. Boa snakes are quite big as can be seen from the picture. They are also non poisonous, that's why the dog ways able to killed it. If it were a Cobra, that dog will certainly not be alive to make the headlines.
Dogs can't tackle Cobras without being bitten. Cobra snakes are very aggressive when under attack. They fight to the death! Just one bite and the attacker is history. That's why apart from man, Only few animals in the world know how to tackle Cobra snakes without being bitten.

On that fateful, I can still remember the two Yoruba men who passed by our area on a motorcycle. The one resting on the rider was battling for his life. He had been stabbed multiple times on his back and head and was bleeding profusely. They were briefly stopped in our area and were allowed to pass. I saw horror and was forced to join the action. Men fell and many were injured. We held on well as they counted their losses too. Today, many erstwhile soft men have been turned to cold hearted monsters. Only those who know understand why the flesh of those demons were consumed in 2010. There's nothing pain and rage cannot do. If you know Ring road in Jos you should know the late Kayode the owner of Kayus block industry. You should know his story back in the days. One of the very few brave yoruba men.
God will see us through this trying times.

Yujin:
You are 99% correct. I was in Jos that same time too. I saw horror that has changed myself forever. The heart I have today was moulded by what happened then and thereafter. These men are beasts that deserve no mercy. Its even your own neighbours that will point you out for slaughter. Such demons like the hausa/fulanis I've never seen. No provocation whatsoever.
Very terrible incident. Our home then was full to the brim with relatives who came to our house after their houses and properties where burned and destroyed. My uncle's wife then who came never knew the werea about of her husband. It was after some weeks that it dawned on her that he was killed along others in angwan rogo area.
The unfortunate thing is that these merchants of violence have backers from security agencies to cover their diabolical activities.
Enugu residents must be on alert at all times day and night. These merchants on death are on genocide mission.

Yes I know they farmers are no their lands. But my friend do you think is actually proper for the farmers to kill any herdsmen just because their cattle encroached their farms? It is not right. Take for instant what happened in plateau state some years back. Do you know that the berom people just woke up one morning and started killing Fulani people just because a lady had some misunderstanding with Muslims at the Friday mosque praying ground. The killing of Fulani went on with even the support of the then governor Joshua dariye. Nobody talked about that but the moment Fulani people took their own reprisal attacks, the media houses started painting the Fulani people as the villians.

We just all have to find a common ground in finding a lasting solution to these problems, but politicizing it won't help anyone
Your claim about Berom people of plateau state killing fulani herdsmen reeks of nothing but blatant lies. So this is how you guys go about spreading lies to support and encourage violence and destructuion against the good people of plateau statehuh Well for the benefit of nairalanders who may not know what happen that day, let me relay the story:
The incident that led to bloody clashes in Jos on september 7, 2001 was a calculated attemp to take over Jos north local govt by northern fulani elements.
It happen on friday around 1pm in the afternoon along bauchi road when a lady was passing by. At that time muslims blocked the main road to commence their usual friday prayers. The lady in question apparently late to her destination tried to sqeez herself through the available space left at the back of the road to get to the other side. As she was passing through, she was blocked by mean looking muslim youths. They began pushing her, threatening her to get out. Surprised by this, the lady said she was only trying to pass through the available space to get to her destination. But before she knew what was happening, these youths then brought out their weapons thretening to kill her. The lady obviously shaken by this raised alarm to passers by to what was happening. Before you know it, more armed youths lunched themselves from the muslim crowd, positioned themselves at different sides of the road and started hacking passers by with matcheds killing them indiscriminately, setting shops, cars and houses on fire. Students on their way home after lectures from University of Jos, bauchi road main camp were also caught in the cross fire by these muslim youths. My cousin who was a student then almost lost his life. My uncle who at that time lived in angwon rogo was killed by his muslim neigbours whom he thought are his friends in front of his house. As I speak to you now, his body had never been recovered.
That was how the jos 2001 crisis started. Now if i may ask, why were the muslim youth at bauchi road armed with weapons on prayer ground (actually not a prayer ground but a federal road)huh For muslim youths who claimed to be praying to observe their weekly jumad service, why did they have weapons on themhuh Could it be that they were just looking for the tiniest provocation to commence a jihadhuh Did that lady who was in a hurry to get to her destination a justification to unleash violence and bloodshed on innocent passers byhuh I leave that for nairalanders to judge.
Before you think am making up this story, I'am a resident of Jos.

In as much as this is what we need, its dead on arival...You can already read posts about tribalism, let me ask, are ibos and yorubas the only tribes in nigeria? what about the hausas, edos, ijaws, efik, ibibios etc...democracy will never work in nigeria as long as we have one country...is the term meant to be one nigeria or united states of nigeria? i dont beleive in the oneness because we are not a people. How exactly are we meant to lead a country without knowing the motives behind its creation.....Obasanjo please tell us the truth before you die even if you do it on your sick bed because it seems you know the truth please unclassify the classified information.

In the absence of TRIBALISM, your idea looks realistic with huge potentials. But with the chants of Yorubas hating the Igbos and vice versa, it(the idea) is dead on arrival.

olawalepopoola:
I have proposed this before, it is a good idea. But there some major hurdles that must be crossed if it must come to fruition:
1. The most challenging issue is tribalism and nepotism. Will Yoruba youths ever allow an Igbo youth to become the party's leader. This is obvious even on NAIRALAND and other social media like facebook, twitter and the likes.
2. Will Nigerian youths not be bought with dollars. If you agree with me, we all know that an average Nigerian youth loves "Kudi", "Ego" and "Owo"
3. Thuggery
You raised very important points. Tribalism is the bane of Nigeria's underdevelopment.

@ Major466,

Nigerian youth are too sentimental and myopic to lead. You imagine that some are brainwashed to continue to chant Sai Baba, even in the face of adversity for a plate of portage and few Naira CHANGE?

Buhary and his mate plan coup in Nigeria at their early age, became governors & Military administrators in their 30s, what do we have now?

Absolute bitterness and acrimony, + the recycled grandpa divide and rule policy in our politics.
Sad reality. If Nigerian youths can just wake up and realize the power we have, this country will go places. Unfortunately many are just contented on becoming second fiddle.

Hmmm ; after years of nurturing this party towards campaign period the chairman will then sell our mandate to PDP abi. Plz u guys should come with another strategy. You con me once I win, you con me twice you win.
True what you noted happened before. Unfortunately for the other parties, internal democracy is missing. They're mostly runned through authocratic method. That is why things like that happen. Internal democracy in 98% of Nigerian political parties is nonexistence. Reason why you see one man (chairman) deciding the fate of millions of party faithfuls against their wishes. All because the chairman is backed by money bags funding the party.

For naija? Bros wake up from your deep slumber!

What we practice in this country is "financiological politics" instead of "ideological"! Unless you want to go fully O.Y.O!
I know political parties require money to run their activities. However money will be an issue if a political party is formed around a personality. With that process, it will be easy for money bags to hijack the party; owing to the saying; ''He who pays the piper dictates the tunes.''
But if we the Nigerian youths hinge our party on members rather than on individuals, the issue of finance will certainly not be a problem. A party formed around members makes it difficult for money bags to hijack it.

No man of flesh and blood and full of fallibility can singlehandedly stop corruption in any country.. The best a sensible government can do is to build strong institutions that can go a long way in curbing corrupt practices, like the TSA and the BVN by the past administration..that was why Hillary Clinton said "nigeria has strong individuals but not enough strong institutions".. Funny Nigerians who thought (like the Israelites) that their Messiah will come with shining military armour to conquer their enemies and rule over them..
true. The best way to fight corruption is by providing the enabling environment that will make corruption a very risky venture to indulge.

If you're a youth who's fed up with the way youths are relegated to the background in Nigeria's affairs by our elders, then you're in the right place. It's high time we come together and form a True Youthful Party, bound by Equality, Respect and Principles of Democracy.

PoliticsRe: Presidency Unveils Buhari’s Economic Team by major466(m):
Like I've said in the past, PMB's govt leans towards socialism. An economic system were govt at the centre plays a dominant role in economic activities. This explains why Buhari has no person from the private sector as member of his economic team.
But is socialism the solution to nigeria's economic problems? For me personally it is not. Socialism will do more harm than good to a country like Nigeria.
Nigeria's major problem is not lack of funds but lack of productivity. A problem brought about by a failed economic structure were economic resources are concentrated at the centre.
This system breeds nothing but mediocrity and unproductivity. It doesn't encourage innovation, nor does it encourage long term economic developement (something Nigeria desperately needs). This explains why Nigeria's current economy is still driving by a single commodity; crude oil. Diversification is not possible with centralization of economic activities at the centre. That's why states in the federation are still tied to Abuja for monthly allocation.
The problem is not leadership, it's the SYSTEM. Our economic system is on the wrong footing. No country in the world can ever develop with this kind of defective economic system.
We have been living in denial for so long, thinking that things will get better with the right leadership, but it will not. It will keep on getting worse. Current economic realities are there for all to see. Nigeria has reached her elastic limit. A point were population growth far outweights productivity.
Nigeria has two choices to make; a choice to make CAPITALISM (decentralization of economic activities) as our economic model or SOCIALISM (centralization of economic activities).
Until we wake up from our slumber and tell ourselves the hard truth about our current defective economic system, we will continue running in cycles of underdevelopment.
